    Examination of the effects of technology orientation, technology innovation strategy and strategic orientation on information technology companies in technoparks

    PurposeThe purpose of the research is to examine the effects of technology orientation (TO) on information technology companies, not as a dimension of strategic orientation (SO), but as an independent variable and together with technology innovation strategy (TIS).Design/methodology/approachIn the research, technoparks operating in the province of Istanbul were determined as the main population. The questionnaire used was applied to the participants working in senior and middle management positions in the companies in these technoparks. Questionnaires were sent via e-mail to the participants (by random sampling method) after obtaining the necessary permissions. In total, the data of 665 participants were included in the analysis. SmartPLS program was used for analysis.FindingsAs a result of the analysis, it is supported by hypotheses that TO, TIS and SO have positive effects on performance variables.Research limitations/implicationsHowever, when looking at the situation that researchers should consider in terms of the limitations of the research, the data were collected only from information technology companies located in technoparks in Istanbul. Therefore, it may not be correct to make a general judgment.Practical implicationsBecause future technology investments among information technology companies are important, it can be argued according to the results of the analysis that TO and technology innovation strategies are important in terms of gaining competitive advantage. At the same time, it is supported by hypotheses that SO is important to be successful in the field of technology against competitors.Social implicationsThe research emphasizes how companies that are proactive in adopting and integrating new technologies can achieve superior performance results. A detailed perspective is presented on how companies can benefit from SO to maximize the return they receive from their technological investments. Additionally, focusing on technoparks as unique environments that facilitate the integration of industrial and technological resources, the research emphasizes the importance of such ecosystems in promoting innovation and economic development.Originality/valueThe research is important research that will contribute to the literature in terms of collecting and examining data from information technology companies in technoparks and examining the effects of TO and TIS of information technology companies in technoparks

    Çevresel Sürdürülebilirlik Perspektifinden Şehir İçi Akıllı Ulaşım Sistemlerinin TOPSIS Analizi ile Değerlendirilmesi

    Bu çalışma, çevresel sürdürülebilirlik perspektifinden akıllı ulaşım sistemlerinin performanslarını değerlendirmek amacıyla TOPSIS (İdeal Çözüme Benzerlik ile Tercih Sıralama Tekniği) yöntemini kullanmıştır. Elektrikli otobüs sistemi (EOS), paylaşımlı elektrikli skuter sistemi (PESS), otonom araç paylaşım sistemi (OAPS) ve akıllı bisiklet paylaşım sistemi (ABPS) olmak üzere dört farklı ulaşım sistemi analiz edilmiştir. Analiz; karbon emisyonlarının azaltılması, enerji verimliliği, kaynak kullanımı, hava kalitesine etki ve yenilenebilir enerji kullanımı kriterleri doğrultusunda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre, EOS en yüksek göreceli yakınlık değeriyle en iyi performansı sergilemiştir. EOS, karbon emisyonlarının azaltılması ve enerji verimliliği konularında üstün performans göstermekte ve fosil yakıt kullanımını azaltarak kaynak kullanımını optimize etmektedir. ABPS ikinci sırada yer alarak çevre dostu bir alternatif olarak öne çıkmaktadır. OAPS üçüncü sırada yer almakta olup, enerji verimliliği ve kaynak kullanımı açısından diğer sistemlere göre daha düşük performans sergilemektedir. PESS ise en düşük performansı göstermiştir. Bulgular, şehir plancıları ve politika yapıcılar için önemli bilgiler sunmakta olup, akıllı ulaşım sistemlerinin çevresel sürdürülebilirlik hedefleri doğrultusunda en uygun seçeneklerin belirlenmesine katkı sağlamaktadır

    A comprehensive investigation on wear and corrosion performance of AISI 8620 steel after severe vibratory peening

    In this study, the effect of Severe Vibratory Peening (SVP), a surface severe plastic deformation method, on the microstructure and mechanical performance of AISI 8620 steel was investigated. Specimens were treated with SVP for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, and 4 hours. Microstructural analysis revealed that all treatments induced a plastic deformation layer on the surface, with layer thickness increasing with longer treatment durations. Surface microhardness increased by 22% relative to untreated specimens, with improvements observed up to approximately 85 ?m beneath the surface. Under a 5 N load, wear volume loss showed no significant difference between treated and untreated specimens; however, at a 15 N load, long-term SVP treatments (1, 2, and 4 hours) resulted in decreased wear loss compared to the untreated condition. The enhanced hardness from plastic deformation overcame the negative effects of increased surface roughness on wear resistance. Moreover, the coefficient of friction decreased with increasing load in the treated specimens, although untreated specimens exhibited the lowest friction overall. Corrosion resistance improved following all SVP treatments, with the highest resistance observed in the 30-minute treatment and the lowest in the untreated specimen. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved

    Effect of Synergistic Compatibilizers for Surface Problem Solution of Cow Bone Powder and Hydroxyapatite Filled Biodegradable Polybutylene Succinate Composites

    This study aimed to improve the properties of polybutylene succinate (PBS) based composites by using different inorganic reinforcement materials such as cow bone powder (BP) and hydroxyapatite (HAP). Three different compatibilizers, namely thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and maleic-grafted-polypropylene (MA-g-PP), were used to solve the surface incompatibility problems between the polymer matrix and the fillers. XRD, XRF, SEM, and FTIR spectroscopy methods were used to characterize the surface functionalities of BP and HAP powders and to elucidate their morphological properties and chemical structures. Composites containing pure PBS, 30% filler by weight, and 5% compatibilizer were mixed in a twin-screw extruder. The resulting composite materials were shaped into dog bones by injection molding. Characterization of the composites was carried out by tensile tests, hardness, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), reciprocating wear tests, water absorption, and field effect scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). According to the results, the use of TPU as a compatibilizer positively affects the mechanical, wear, water absorption, and thermal properties of both BP and HAP filled composite materials.     Chalcone-based schiff bases: Design, synthesis, structural characterization and biological effects

    The presented work describes the synthesis, characterization, and biological effects of three new Schiff base compounds (SOH-F/Cl/Br) and their phthalonitrile derivatives (SCN-F/Cl/Br). The structures of all synthesized compounds were elucidated by NMR, FT-IR, and mass spectroscopic methods. Enzyme results were obtained at the nanomolar level. Cytotoxic activity of novel compounds was evaluated against neuroblastoma (SH-SY5Y) and mouse fibroblast (NIH-3T3) cell lines using MTT. It has been determined that all tested molecules have a powerful cytotoxic effect; IC50 values were under 10 mu M against SH-SY5Y cells. Among all compounds, the lowest IC50 value was observed in SCN-Br (1.798 +/- 0.036 mu M). Moreover, the IC50 concentration of SCN-Br (12.79 +/- 0.33 mu M) in healthy NIH-3T3 cells was significantly higher than in cancerous cells. The activity comparison of the studied six molecules was made with both DFT calculations and molecular docking calculations. Various proteins that are hCA I protein (PDB ID: 2CAB), hCA II protein (PDB ID: 5AML), and SH-SY5Y protein (PDB ID: 7LQZ, 5WIV, and 2F37) were used in molecular docking calculations.     Kinetic study on nickel aluminides formed on Monel 400 alloy

    In this study on low temperature aluminized Monel 400 alloy, the growth kinetics of the aluminide layer are reported. Ni-based super alloy samples were aluminized for 2, 4, and 6 h at 600, 650, 700, and 750 degrees C, respectively. The morphologies and types of aluminides that developed on the Monel 400 substrate surface were examined using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The thickness of the boride layer varied between 4 and 40 mu m. The temperature and duration time of treatment had an impact on the hardness of the aluminides that developed on the samples, ranging from 800 to 250 HV. By altering the treatment's temperature and duration, the reaction's kinetics were also determined. A regression model was utilized to create an equation that can estimate the thickness of the aluminized layer based on the parameters of time and temperature. The projected values of the thickness of the aluminized layers were compared to the corresponding measurements obtained through experimentation, and a satisfactory agreement was achieved. Furthermore, a contour diagram is a recommended tool for determining the appropriate thicknesses of aluminized layers based on the prospective industrial applications of Monel 400

    Bu araştırma TÜBİTAK 2209-A Üniversite Öğrencileri Araştırma Projeleri Destekleme Programı kapsamında 2023 yılı 1. Döneminde 1919B012303193 proje numarası ile desteklenmiştir.Araştırmanın amacı, üreme çağındaki kadınların bireysel yenilikçilik düzeyleri ile Aile Planlaması (AP) tutumları arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma, tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı kesitsel tasarımdadır. Çalışmanın evrenini ülkemizde yaşayan aktif üreme çağındaki (18-49 yaş) kadınlar oluşturmuştur. Araştırma dahil etme kriterlerine uyan 672 kadın ile tamamlanmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri Ekim 2023-Ocak 2024 tarihleri arasında Türkiye genelinden “Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu”, Aile Planlaması Tutum Ölçeği-APTÖ” ve “Bireysel Yenilikçilik Ölçeği-BYÖ” ile online olarak toplanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan kadınların yaş ortalaması 22,00±5,25’tir. Kadınların eğitim durumu ile BYÖ arasında hem kadınların hem eşlerinin eğitim durumu ve yaşanılan bölge ile APTÖ arasında ilişki bulunmuştur (pThe aim of the research is to determine the relationship between individual innovativeness levels of women of reproductive age and their Family Planning (FP) attitudes. The research is a descriptive and correlational cross-sectional design. The universe of the study consists of women of active reproductive age (18-49 years old) living in our country. The research was completed with 672 women who met the inclusion criteria. The data of the research were collected online from all over Turkey between October 2023-January 2024 with the “Introductory Information Form”, Family Planning Attitude Scale- FPAS” and “Individual Innovation Scale- IIS”. The average age of the women participating in the research was 22.00±5.25.     Effect of progressive relaxation exercises on postoperative pain, sleep quality, and recovery in patients undergoing total knee replacement surgery

    Bu araştırmanın amacı, total diz protezi uygulanan hastalarda progresif gevşeme egzersizlerinin ameliyat sonrası ağrı şiddeti, uyku kalitesi ve iyileşmeye etkisini incelemektir. Randomize kontrollü deneysel araştırma, Zonguldak ilindeki bir devlet hastanesinde total diz protezi ameliyatı uygulanan 96 hasta ile gerçekleştirildi. Hastalar blok randomizasyon ile her bir grupta 48 hasta olacak şekilde müdahale ve kontrol grubuna ayrıldı. Veriler Hasta Bilgi Formu, Sayısal Derecelendirme Ölçeği (SDÖ), Richard Campbell Uyku Anketi (RCUA), Ameliyat Sonrasi İyileşme İndeksi (ASİİ), akıllı mobil aygıt ve uyku ölçer akıllı bileklik kullanılarak 1 Eylül 2023 - 1 Ağustos 2024 tarihleri arasında toplandı. Müdahale grubunda ameliyattan bir gün önce hastalar hakkında bilgiler kayıt edildi ve Sayısal Derecelendirme Ölçeği ağrı değerlendirilmesi yapıldı. Hastalar sessiz bir odaya alınarak progresif gevşeme egzersizi öğretildi. 30 dakikalık sözlü yönerge eşliğinde hastaların gevşeme egzersizini yapmaları sağlandı. Progresif gevşeme egzersizi içeriğinin yazılı yönergesi hastaya verildi. Egzersizden 30 dk sonra tekrar SDÖ ile ağrı düzeyi değerlendirildi. Ardından uyku takip özelliği de olan akıllı bileklikler hastalara takılarak bu bilekliklerin çalışma süresince kollarından çıkarılmaması sağlandı. Ameliyat günü cerrahi girişimden önce akıllı bileklikteki verilerden hastaların uyku süresi kaydedildi. Sonrasında hastaların uyku kalitesi değerlendirildi. Ameliyat sonrası 6. saatte hastaların ağrı düzeyi değerlendirildi, analjezik kullanımından 2 saat sonra olmak koşuluyla progresif gevşeme egzersizi 4 saat arayla 2 kez tekrar yaptırıldı. Egzersizden 30 dk sonra ağrı değerlendirildi. Ameliyat sonrası 1. gün sabahı, hastanın toplam uyku süresi, uyku kalitesi ve iyileşme indeksi değerlendirildi. Hastaların progresif gevşeme egzersizlerini günde 2 kez yapması sağlandı. Egzersiz sonrası hastaların ağrı düzeyleri değerlendirildi. Ameliyat sonrası birinci günde gerçekleştirilen tüm uygulamalar ameliyat sonrası ikinci, üçüncü ve dördüncü günde de tamamlandı. Kontrol grubunda ise veriler aynı zaman dilimlerinde progresif gevşeme egzersizi uygulatılmadan veri toplama araçları ile toplandı. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler; ortalama, standart sapma, yüzde ve frekans dağılımı, Bağımsız Gruplar t-Testi ve Ki-Kare (?²) Testi, tekrarlayan ölçümlerde karışık ANOVA testi, General Linear Model analizi ile değerlendirildi. Anlamlı olan sonuçlar için müdahalenin etki büyüklüğü değerlendirildi. İstatistiksel anlamlılık düzeyi p < 0,05 olarak kabul edildi. Araştırmada müdahale grubunda ağrı seviyelerinin zaman içinde daha hızlı ve belirgin şekilde azaldığı (F=14,11; p=0,000; ?²= 0,131), uyku kalitesinin zaman içinde kontrol grubuna kıyasla daha hızlı ve belirgin bir şekilde iyileştiği (F=14,22; p<0,001; ?²=0,131) tespit edildi. Müdahale grubunda ASİİ toplam skorlarının zamanla belirgin şekilde azaldığı, kontrol grubunda ise bu azalmanın anlamlı şekilde daha sınırlı olduğu saptandı (F=6,531; p=0,000; ?²=0,065). Her iki grupta da ASİİ skorlarının zaman geçtikçe anlamlı şekilde düştüğü saptandı (F=609,107; p=0,000; ?²=0,866). Araştırma, total diz protezi ameliyatı olan hastalarda uygulanan progresif gevşeme egzersizlerinin ameliyat sonrası dönemde hastaların ağrısını azalttığını, uyku kalitesini ve uykuda geçirilen sürelerini artırdığını, iyileşme sürecini olumlu etkilediğini gösterdi. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda progresif gevşeme egzersizleri hemşirelik bakım planlarında rutin bir şekilde uygulamaya geçmesi önerilebilir.The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of progressive muscle relaxation exercises on postoperative pain intensity, sleep quality, and recovery in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty. The randomized controlled experimental study was conducted with 96 patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty at a state hospital in Zonguldak, Türkiye. Patients were assigned to intervention and control groups using block randomization, with 48 patients in each group. Data were collected between September 1, 2023, and August 1, 2024, using the Patient Information Form, Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Richard Campbell Sleep Questionnaire (RCSQ), Postoperative Recovery Index (PoRI), a smart mobile device, and a sleep-tracking smart wristband. In the intervention group, patients' baseline information and pain levels were recorded using the NRS one day before surgery. Patients were then taken to a quiet room and taught how to perform progressive muscle relaxation exercises. Patients completed a 30-minute session guided by verbal instructions, and a written instruction sheet was also provided. Pain levels were reassessed 30 minutes after the session using the NRS. A sleep-tracking smart wristband was then placed on each patient, with instructions not to remove it during the study period. Sleep duration before surgery was recorded from the wristbands, and sleep quality was assessed. Pain levels were evaluated again 6 hours after surgery. Progressive muscle relaxation exercises were repeated twice at 4-hour intervals, starting 2 hours after analgesic administration. Pain was reassessed 30 minutes after each exercise session. On the morning of the first postoperative day, total sleep duration, sleep quality, and recovery index scores were recorded. Patients in the intervention group were instructed to perform the exercises twice daily, and pain assessments were conducted after each session. All procedures performed on the first postoperative day were repeated on the second, third, and fourth days. In the control group, data were collected at the same time intervals using the same tools, but without the implementation of progressive relaxation exercises. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, percentage, and frequency distribution), Independent Samples t-Test, Chi-square test (?²), repeated measures mixed ANOVA, and General Linear Model analysis. Effect sizes were calculated for significant results. The level of statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. The findings revealed that pain levels in the intervention group decreased more rapidly and significantly over time (F=14.11; p=0.000; ?²=0.131), and sleep quality improved more markedly compared to the control group (F=14.22; p<0.001; ?²=0.131). The total PoRI scores significantly decreased over time in the intervention group, whereas the reduction was less prominent in the control group (F=6.531; p=0.000; ?²=0.065). A significant decrease in PoRI scores over time was observed in both groups (F=609.107; p=0.000; ?²=0.866). The study concluded that progressive muscle relaxation exercises in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty effectively reduced postoperative pain, improved sleep quality and sleep duration, and positively influenced recovery. Based on these results, it is recommended that progressive muscle relaxation exercises be routinely integrated into nursing care plans

    Text-Linguistic Approach to Modern Arabic Literature: Analysis of Short Story "Arkhas Layâlî"

    Objectives: Text linguistic, a contemporary field of study within modern scientific disciplines, investigates the criteria determining whether a group of sentences constitutes an actual text. This research aims to contribute to story analysis and deep structure analysis of stories through text linguistic analysis. Methods: In this study, the descriptive analysis method has been employed to evaluate Yusuf Idris's story titled 'Arkhas Layâlî' (The Cheapest Nights), within the context of macro-structural framework in Modern Arabic Literature. The subheadings that aid in comprehending and delineating this structure include function, title, topic, keywords, topical sentence, schema, topic-changing markers, style, summary, conclusion sentence, and motif/theme. Under these headings, the deep structure of the text and how this structure is constructed have been examined. Results: As a result of the analysis, it has been observed that the narrative is internally consistent and establishes a sequential, smooth connection between sentences. The author has meaningfully established coherence relationships in the short story, successfully conveying the intended message within this coherence framework. Conclusions: This study is believed to provide a different perspective on text analyses of this nature and shed light on future research in this field. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved

    BARTIN İLİ ULUS İLÇESİNİN EKOTURİZM KÖY ODAKLI TEMATİK TURİZM POTANSİYELİNİN İNCELENMESİ

    Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, turizm destinasyonu olma potansiyeli taşıyan Bartın İli Ulus İlçesi ve köylerinde tematik turizm türlerini ortaya koymak ve bölgenin turizm potansiyeline yönelik uygulama stratejilerini belirlemektir. Bu bağlamda, gözlem, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler ve belge analizlerine dayalı bir vaka çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları ilçedeki turizm potansiyelinin, tarihi ve kültürel tema, kırsal yaşam deneyimi, mağara turizmi, fiziksel aktivite, doğa sporları ve manzara temalarında somutlaştığını göstermektedir. Bu bağlamda öncelikli geliştirilmesi gereken alt temaların ev pansiyonculuğu, çiftlik turizmi, yöresel yiyecekler, bilimsel ve sportif mağara turizmi, doğal anıt ağaç tünel, bisiklet turizmi, doğa fotoğrafçılığı ve trekking olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu bağlamda Ulus İlçesi UNWTO tarafından belirlenen 15 tematik turizm grubunun dokuzunu karşılamaktadır. Sonuç olarak merkez ilçe ve köylerinde zengin kültürel değerlerin geliştirilmesi, ana ve alt temalar odağında doğru bir destinasyon planlaması ve pazarlama karmasının oluşturulması, köylerde tematik turizm türlerini destekleyecek bütüncül turistik gezi rotalarının oluşturulması önerilmektedir. Ayrıca Ulus ilçesinin Amasra-Safranbolu aksı arasında yer alması, bireysel ve grup tur programlarında bir destinasyon olarak değerlendirilmesi gerekliliğini ortaya koymaktadır
