Financial Market Liberalization and Total Factor Productivity: A Panel Data Analysis
Get PDFFinancial market liberalization refers to the gradual termination of regulatory controls over capital movements across countries. This study explores the effect of financial market liberalization on the total factor productivity (TFP) using data on 16 major Emerging Market Economies (EMEs) over the period 1997-2022. The generalized method of moments (GMM) technique of panel data estimation is employed involving different de-facto and de-jure capital market liberalization measures. The robustness of empirical results is checked by applying fixed effect and pooled OLS methods. Our empirical findings suggest that foreign direct investment (FDI) is the only conspicuous de-facto measure affecting total factor productivity positively and significantly. However, one de-jure measure of capital market liberalization namely Schindler index is also found to be statistically significant. The core conclusion of this study is that foreign capital influx is the most advantageous when it arrives in the form of FDI. The institutions and macroeconomic governance are also imperative and play a catalytic role to harness the benefits from financial liberalization progression
A Systematic Literature Review on Health Information Sharing Among Older Adults
Get PDFThe purpose of this research is to synthesize the findings of existing studies on the sharing of health information among older adults. This SLR follows the PRISMA model to provide an extensive analysis of the practices of health information sharing among older adults. This review synthesizes the results of the searches in Google Scholar, Web of Science (WoS), and Scopus databases that investigated the purpose to share health related information, technologies used, and challenges faced by older adults in sharing their health information. Most of the studies emphasize that the elderly use computers, mobile phones, and social media apps to discuss their health issues with doctors and families. However, there are challenges like technology constraints, people’s resistance to technology, and lack of funds that hinder information sharing. Moreover, the study shows the variety of technologies used by older people, indicating the necessity for more individualized approaches to the development of interventions. Subsequent studies should focus on tackling these barriers with the help of specific interventions and creating effective technology designs that would enhance the accessibility of healthcare services for elderly people. By bridging the digital divide and enhancing access to technology, stakeholders can foster a more equitable healthcare system that empowers older adults to actively engage in health information sharing, ultimately improving their health outcomes and overall well-being
Examining Digital Information Literacy Skills of Faculty Members in the Public Sector Universities in Peshawar, Pakistan
Get PDFThe study analyzes the level of digital information literacy skills (DILS) of university teachers of Peshawar and its relationship with their certain personal and academic variables. Using survey method of research, a research instrument based on similar studies was administered to the university teachers working in the public sector universities of Peshawar for collecting the data. Total population of this study was comprised of 1678 faculty members in all six public sector universities situated in Peshawar, Pakistan. The research instrument was sent to a sample of 500 faculty members with a representation of 30% from each university. The researchers received back 340 usable questionnaires with 68% response rate. Results indicated that faculty members were comfortable with 13 DILS. They showed least comfort in the use of digital journals, digital books, listserv and discussion groups. The study found that participants were well acquainted in computer usage; however, they were not well versed in searching literature of their choice. Moreover, the study observed significant differences in faculty members’ specialty, educational qualification (degree), their proficiency in English, and the accessibility to computers or laptops at their homes. Similarly, significant difference was also found keeping in view respondents’ sex and societal background. The study concluded that university teachers, in general, lack DILS. The available literature indicates that only a few studies on such kind of topics have been conducted in Pakistan and elsewhere. However, no study till date has examined DILS of teachers of public sector universities in Peshawar, Pakistan. Being a pioneering study, It will help in promoting and organizing digital information literacy programs for faculty members and improve their DILS

When in a welfare state, the ruler fulfills the requirements of justice and justice and every person has his basic rights and needs without his demand, then one needs to take to the streets to meet his demands and get the basic necessities, neither to block the road, nor to sit on a sit-in or hunger strike, so such a state should progress and prosper. Following the path of a truly Islamic welfare state, it presents a map of a truly Islamic welfare state. But in a society where attempts are made to suppress the fundamental rights of human beings, it is natural to react to the protection of one's rights, because it is inherent in man's nature to protest for his right, as soon as the child is born, he protests for his right and cries for milk. Islam also gives the right to demand one's legitimate rights within the limits of Sharia, and in addition, it is obligatory to raise voice for various purposes and to prevent disbelievers. Assessment of Corporate Social Responsibility on Customer loyalty through moderating role of Servant Leadership and Customer Commitment: Evidence from Telecommunication Industry
No full textThis quantitative research inspects the complicated dynamics of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Pakistan's telecommunications business and its impression on consumer loyalty. This research uses a comprehensive theoretical framework that accounts for mediating and moderating factors from a 408-person survey. The complicated affiliation between CSR and customer loyalty is examined in this exploration. It examines co-creation, customer satisfaction as mediators and servant leadership and customer commitment as moderators. As evidenced by increased collaborative value creation and customer satisfaction, CSR efforts improve customer loyalty. Pakistan's telecoms business relies on the above factors to link CSR and customer loyalty. Servant leadership and customer commitment have been shown to strengthen these connections, emphasizing the significance of ethical leadership and customer loyalty in maximizing the benefits of corporate social responsibility. This research paper provides a complete framework for integrating CSR with leadership and customer engagement for Pakistani telecommunication enterprises. Harmonizing Global Peace: The Noble Influence of Islamic Human Rights

Derived from the basic teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad’s Sunnah, Islamic human rights are grounded in dignity and equality for all human beings regardless of their background. This article goes into detail about the foundational principles that lie behind Islamic human rights: the sanctity of human life, justice, and mercy. It also looks at Islamic jurisprudence to see how leaders were able to be relatively fair and nondiscriminatory toward minorities, women and marginalized groups. What is compassion in Islam, and what does it mean according to the Prophet's example as found in Islamic teachings? The paper explores such questions confronting Humanity. It will consider the impact of Islamic teachings on human rights and how this might foster greater world understanding and tolerance. From another perspective, this article discusses several cases of tolerance in Muslim societies within diversity. The paper goes on to discuss the authoritarianism, extremism, and sectarianism in Muslim-majority countries today. It prefers to propose education, dialogue, and collective effort as solutions to these issues that affect Muslims most directly. Finally, it argues that global solidarity is necessary to push forward Islamic human rights and to promote peace worldwide

Practicing environmental sustainability in current business models creates value for customers and enhances the customer loyalty. Non-Linear Effect of Quality of Education on Social Development
Get PDFObjective: This study aims to test the role of the quality of education in improving the social development of HDR-listed countries. Moreover, the role of labor and capital is also included as controlling factors of the described model.
Research Gap: This study is instrumental in exploring the role of quality of education globally. Further, this study tests the determining as well as the moderating role of institutions in improving social development
Design/Methodology/Approach: For the analysis, secondary data is collected from the period 2008 to 2018, and the results are estimated using panel quantile regression. The study sample is classified as country groups based on human development.
The Main Findings: The estimated results indicate that the quality of education and social development have a U-shaped relationship. While capital and institutions are increasing but labor force is decreasing social development. The cross-product of the quality of education institutions is reducing social development.
Theoretical / Practical Implications of the Findings: These results have confirmed the implementation of targeted education reforms to enhance access and quality, cater to diverse learner needs, maximize education's positive impact on social progress, and ensure sustainability.
Originality/Value: The nonlinear role of education quality is assessed with the moderating role of institutions
