The Impact of Corporate Image on Consumer Engagement in Sustainable Consumption
In order to raise public awareness of sustainability, companies need to take an important step towards sustainable consumption. A positive corporate image can help consumers to change their consumption habits and promote sustainable consumption. Corporate social responsibility becomes important in the context of corporate image, showing how companies themselves contribute to solving social, economic and environmental problems. Corporate image – what consumers think of a company – can influence consumer engagement in sustainable consumption. The objective is to determine the impact of corporate image on consumer engagement in sustainable consumption. The results showed that a positive corporate image can lead to consumer satisfaction and long-term customer retention, i.e. loyalty, indicating a positive consumer engagement with sustainable consumption. Consumer engagement in sustainable consumption is not only determined by a positive corporate image together with CSR, but also by the external and internal environment of consumer
Assessment of the Sustainable Development of a Tourism Destination: The Case of an Adventure Park
The sustainable development of a tourism destination is a process that is continuously improved and has long-term value. By applying and distributing the economic, social and cultural dimensions equally, it is possible to achieve well-being for the environment and local people not only now, but also in the future. The study showed that the sustainable development of a tourism destination is presented differently by each of the authors, but all of them convey the idea that it is a process that includes economy, environmental protection, social dimensions and their management. By applying the process of sustainable development, tourism destinations achieve economic benefits without harming the environment and taking into account the social and cultural well-being of local people. It is recommended that voluntary publicity of environmental and socio-cultural activities in a tourism destination is an important factor that improves the image and increases value in society. Sustainability management is a more comprehensive, constructive, holistic approach than the management systems offered so fa
Assessment of Financial Condition in Companies Applying Circular Economy Principles
Extraction and use of raw materials have a significant impact on the environment by increasing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Because of it, every year humans generate 2.5 billion tons of waste. In recent years, EU has been working on laws on waste management. In March 2020, the European Commission presented the circular economy plan, which involves more eco-friendly production and waste recycling. Special attention is paid towards sectors that require a lot of raw materials usage, e.g electronics, plastic, textile and construction. Being a great solution, the application of the circular economy principle still raises an essential question whether and how much it is effective. In order to achieve the set goals it’s necessary to constantly monitor the processes, therefore the evaluation of the efficiency of the circular economy and its impact on the company’s financial indicators is still a problem. The aim of this research is to develop a model for assessing the financial condition of companies applying circular economy principles. These are the main objectives that have been set: 1) describe the concept, theory and principles of circular economy after analysing the scientific literature; 2) summarise empirical studies after analysing the circular economy principles and the assessment of the financial conditions of companies. It was found that in order to evaluate how the implementation of the circular economy principles changes the financial condition of companies, different authors use different methods. It is emphasised that the financial condition of companies applying circular economy principles can be assessed using a composite indicator
14th Conference on DATA ANALYSIS METHODS for Software Systems
DAMSS-2023 is the 14th International Conference on Data Analysis Methods for Software Systems, held in Druskininkai, Lithuania. Every year at the same venue and time. The exception was in 2020, when the world was gripped by the Covid-19 pandemic and the movement of people was severely restricted. After a year’s break, the conference was back on track, and the next conference was successful in achieving its primary goal of lively scientific communication. The conference focuses on live interaction among participants. For better efficiency of communication among participants, most of the presentations are poster presentations.
This format has proven to be highly effective. However, we have several oral sections, too. The history of the conference dates back to 2009 when 16 papers were presented. It began as a workshop and has evolved into a well-known conference. The idea of such a workshop originated at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, now the Institute of Data Science and Digital Technologies of Vilnius University. The Lithuanian Academy of Sciences and the Lithuanian Computer Society supported this idea, which gained enthusiastic acceptance from both the Lithuanian and international scientific communities. This year’s conference features 84 presentations, with 137 registered participants from 11 countries. The conference serves as a gathering point for researchers from six Lithuanian universities, making it the main annual meeting for Lithuanian computer scientists. The primary aim of the conference is to showcase research conducted at Lithuanian and foreign universities in the fields of data science and software engineering. The annual organization of the conference facilitates the rapid exchange of new ideas within the scientific community. Seven IT companies supported the conference this year, indicating the relevance of the conference topics to the business sector. In addition, the conference is supported by the Lithuanian Research Council and the National Science and Technology Council (Taiwan, R. O. C.). The conference covers a wide range of topics, including Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Bioinformatics, Blockchain Technologies, Business Rules, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Deep Learning, High-Performance Computing, Data Visualization, Machine Learning, Medical Informatics, Modelling Educational Data, Ontological Engineering, Optimization, Quantum Computing, Signal Processing. This book provides an overview of all presentations from the DAMSS-2023 conference

Slavijos paribiai XX–XXI amžių sandūroje. Kalba–visuomenė–kultūra–tapatybė
In theses, researchers from various scientific fields share their new research and their methods and application possibilities. Scientists write about linguistic and cultural relations between representatives of different nationalities, border issues, being in a multilingual and multicultural environment, and finally geopolitical changes that influence our lives. Theses also reflect the impact of the technological revolution on language and society, the emergence of new language forms and genres. The authors analyze the Internet and youth language, cultural homogenization and globalization. Attention is also drawn to rural and urban language differences, standard language and dialects, sociolects. Border regions are analyzed, which focus many identity and linguistic issues. Scientists also write about the dangers, because in the situation of multilingualism and multiculturalism there are processes that can lead to linguistic and cultural assimilation. Linguists also indicate tasks. One of them is the preparation of dialect dictionaries, flagged as an urgent task in view of the rapid disappearance of dialects or their evolution. In addition to traditional sources of material, researchers are exploring new sources such as posts on Instagram, videos on YouTube, podcasts or memes.
Old Discipline, New Trajectories: Theories, Methods and Practices in Anthropology
Going under the title “Old Discipline, New Trajectories: Theories, Methods and Practices in Anthropology”, the conference seeks to provide a “home” for socio-cultural and linguistic anthropologists as well as archeologists and bio-evolutionary anthropologists who identify themselves and seek to connect with scientifically minded anthropologists. It does not neglect the humanistic aspect of anthropology and embraces it as part of the unity implicit in the study of human lifeways and the cultural stuff that gives meaning, direction and collective identities to us. The conference might be seen as an important foundational step to establishing closer collaboration and integration among different disciplinary and methodological strands within the discipline of anthropology. The conference will broadly focus on theory, methods and practices in anthropology and will address the following questions:
- Can we still say that anthropology is the most scientific of humanities and most humanistic of social sciences?- What does a scientific approach to the study of culture imply theoretically and methodologically?- Should ethnography still hold a central place in anthropology?- How can the results of the study of human evolution, cultural evolution and language evolution contribute insights into the current human condition?- What are the consequences the current rapid technological change is having on culture?- What can anthropology contribute to the important questions of today’s world such as pandemics, growing economic inequality, fascism, second demographic transition, climate change, etc.
