Active, participatory, and passive approaches are used synergistically in implementing these roles. The inhibiting factors found include limited human resources, minimal budget, unproductive work culture, and ineffective communication and supervision systems. This study concludes that the role of sub-district heads is very important in building an efficient and professional work environment through an adaptive and communicative leadership approach
Solvability and Profitability Ratio Analysis to Assess Financial Performance at PT. United Tractors.Tbk
This study aims to analyze the solvency and profitability ratios in assessing the financial performance of PT United Tractors Tbk for the period 2019–2023. The solvency ratios examined include the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and the Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR), while the profitability ratios consist of Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE). These two categories of ratios were prioritized because they directly reflect the company’s capital structure and efficiency in generating profits, which are crucial in capturing financial resilience during periods of economic uncertainty. The analysis employed secondary data drawn from audited annual reports of PT United Tractors Tbk published by the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the company’s official website. The results indicate that solvency and profitability fluctuated throughout the study period. The sharp decline in 2020 coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted global demand for heavy equipment, while the improvement in ROA and ROE during 2022–2023 reflected stronger asset utilization supported by industry recovery and infrastructure expansion. Nevertheless, the increase in DER in 2023 signaled greater reliance on debt financing. This study concludes that maintaining a balance between solvency and profitability is essential for sustainable financial performance. However, since the analysis was limited to solvency and profitability ratios, future studies are encouraged to incorporate liquidity, efficiency, and market-based indicators to provide a more comprehensive picture of financial health
Exploring Mathematical Concepts in Buna Woven Fabric Motifs of the Amanuban Community and Their Integration into Mathematics Education
This study explores the mathematical concepts embedded in the woven motifs of Buna, specifically Tais Kaimnutu and Buna Panbuat, from the Amanuban community, and their potential integration into mathematics education. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, the researchers conducted six months of observations, interviews with indigenous weavers and cultural experts, and documentation of woven patterns. The study reveals that Buna woven motifs embody rich mathematical concepts such as symmetry, geometric transformations, fractals, and group theory, while also reflecting deep cultural values, identity, and spirituality. These motifs serve as intuitive artistic and cosmological expressions, with mathematical interpretations offering a new form of cultural appreciation that respects local contexts. Educationally, these motifs support learning across all levels: introducing symmetry and spatial visualization in elementary school; deepening understanding of transformations and congruence in middle school; exploring fractals and algebraic structures in high school; and fostering culturally responsive teaching in higher education through ethnomathematics integrated with mathematical modeling and topology. Beyond pedagogy, the study emphasizes the importance of integrating indigenous knowledge into formal curricula to strengthen cultural identity, community involvement, and empowerment. It highlights ethnomathematics as a transformative bridge linking academic research, cultural preservation, and community development. Future research should explore participatory curriculum design and community perspectives on the mathematical interpretation of indigenous crafts to enhance educational and cultural sustainability
Learning Innovations in Enhancing Teachers' Emotional and Spiritual Skills
Learning innovations relating to emotional and spiritual intelligence based on this study are how the innovations contribute to the advancement of the teachers professional capacity of the elementary schools in Gorontalo Regency, Indonesia. The research understands that not just the knowledge of the material is sufficient to become a good teacher and looks into the pedagogical activities that would be involved in emotional regulation, moral presence, and spiritual clarity. A qualitative case study method was used to collect the data by means of interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis among five elementary schools that participated in the associated training program actively. The results indicate that teachers who develop emotional and spiritual skills show an improvement of self-regulation, strengthening relationship to their students and self-rediscovery of ethical commitment in their professions. Nevertheless, the combination of such competencies may be hampered by structural impediments, such as time requirements, diminished institutional assistance, and the prevalence of academically minimizing structures of policy-making. The research suggests a shift in teacher growth and school culture that claims emotional and spiritual intelligence as an essential part of life, rather than optional extras. The personal experiences of the teachers brought into the foreground with the support of this research will be integrated into the greater literature concerning wholistic education, character development, and the buzzs so-called ethical reconstruction of instruction
Overcoming English Speaking Challenges: A Role-Playing Simulation Approach in Vocational Education
The ability to speak English is crucial in today's globalized era, especially for vocational students in agro-industrial engineering. However, traditional teaching methods often fail to develop speaking skills effectively, leading to low confidence and motivation among students. Constructivist theories emphasize active student involvement and real-life simulations as effective learning approaches. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the role-playing simulation method in improving the English-speaking skills of Agro-Industrial Engineering students at Politeknik ATI Makassar. A quasi-experimental research design with a mixed-method approach was employed. The participants were 30 second-semester students. Data were collected through speaking tests (Test 1, Test 2, Test 3), observation sheets, and interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Cohen's d for effect size. The research involved six meetings with various business communication scenarios. The average speaking test scores significantly increased from 66.67 (Test 1) to 75.03 (Test 2) and 81.27 (Test 3). Cohen's d values indicated a medium effect for Test 1 vs Test 2 (d=0.72) and Test 2 vs Test 3 (d=0.61), and a large effect for Test 1 vs Test 3 (d=1.29). Students showed increased confidence, motivation, and active participation, with more intelligent students assisting their peers. The role-playing simulation method significantly improved English-speaking skills, confidence, and motivation among agro-industrial engineering students. This method provides a practical and effective alternative to conventional teaching, aligning with constructivist learning principles and preparing students for industry needs. Future research should explore this method in different contexts with larger sample size
Moral Intelligence of Senior High School Students in Bandung City as a Foundation for Developing Global Citizenship
The moral intelligence development is becoming critical in equipping adolescents to be able to address the twenty first century ethical, societal and global challenges. This research analyzes the moral intelligence of high-school pupils in Bandung who are in their senior years with emphasis to four major aspects, which include integrity, responsibility, self-control and empathy. The quantitative design was conducted by use of a validated questionnaire that was administered at different grades. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive summaries, reliability test, confirmatory factor analysis, and inferential statistics conducted on the data (correlation and regression) to map the moral intelligence profiles of the students. The results have shown that the total moral intelligence is high, and empathy and self-control were found as the strongest areas, whereas integrity and responsibility exhibited lower scores. Internal consistency was measured by reliability and validity which confirmed that moral intelligence is multidimensional. The correlation analysis indicated that there were some significant interrelations between the dimensions, and regression indicated that empathy and self-control were the most effective predictors of the orientation of the students towards the global citizenship. There were also gender disparities in that female students scored higher in empathy whereas males exhibited a margin of self-control. Students were less consistent with regard to responsibility and integrity despite high sensitivity and behavioral regulation. The paper also identifies the necessity of experiential and digitally enriched, including service learning, digital citizenship programs, to reinforce weaker aspects and contribute to responsible and ethical involvement in the global environment
The Determinant Factors of Preeclampsia Incidence in Pregnant Women at Haji Hospital Makassar in 2024
Hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, particularly preeclampsia, are a leading cause of maternal and perinatal mortality worldwide. Preeclampsia can progress into severe complications such as eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. Factors such as age, pregnancy history, and body mass index (BMI) are known to play a role in the occurrence of this condition. This study was conducted at RSUD Haji Makassar to identify determinant factors influencing the occurrence of preeclampsia in pregnant women. This study used a descriptive-analytical approach with a retrospective design, where secondary data were obtained from medical records of patients diagnosed with preeclampsia during a specific period (year 2024). Analysis was performed on factors influencing the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women at RSUD Haji Makassar. Age, parity, BMI, and height significantly influenced the occurrence of preeclampsia. Older age and higher parity increased the risk of preeclampsia. Higher BMI and shorter height were also associated with higher blood pressure, which worsened the condition. However, gravida and weight did not show significant effects. Age, parity, BMI, and height are significant determinants of preeclampsia. Management and prevention of preeclampsia should consider these factors to improve maternal and fetal safety during pregnancy
Factors Influencing Risky Sexual Behavior Among MSM and Transgender Individuals and its Relationship to Hiv/Aids Prevention: A Literature Review
HIV/AIDS remains a global public health challenge with a high prevalence among vulnerable populations, particularly men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender individuals. These groups face various barriers, such as social stigma, discrimination, and limited access to healthcare services, which exacerbate the risk of engaging in risky sexual behavior. This study employed a literature review design. Data sources included scientific articles retrieved from Google Scholar and PubMed. Factors influencing risky sexual behavior include young age, low levels of education and knowledge, negative social environments, unstable economic conditions, and experiences of stigma and discrimination. HIV prevalence among transgender and MSM individuals in developing countries remains high (e.g., 75.7% in the Caribbean, 25–35% in Peru). Effective prevention efforts include consistent condom use, utilization of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), and access to transgender-friendly healthcare services. However, major challenges remain in terms of PrEP adherence, awareness, and addressing social and structural barriers. Risky sexual behavior among MSM and transgender populations results from a complex interaction of social, economic, and structural factors. HIV/AIDS prevention requires a holistic approach, including comprehensive sexual education, inclusive and friendly healthcare services, strategies to reduce stigma and discrimination, and the promotion and facilitation of access to condoms and PrEP. Interventions should engage communities, healthcare providers, and policymakers to establish a supportive and safe system for vulnerable populations
