Role of Tongue Print Examination in Forensic Odontology Identification
The tongue is a part of the oral cavity that is easy to examine. The tongue is very well protected from the external environment so that it can be adequately examined even though some other body organs have been damaged. The tongue has identical characteristics in each individual, so it can be used to identify a person. Several studies have been conducted, it has been found that there is a tendency for particular features of the shape, size, and structure of the tongue to be different in men and women. Therefore, it can be utilized by forensic odontologists as a support in an individual identification process
Effectiveness of Topical Tranexamic Acid in the Treatment of Melasma
Melasma is a chronic skin hyperpigmentation condition that often occurs in women of reproductive age, especially in areas exposed to sunlight. One of the therapeutic agents that has attracted attention is tranexamic acid (TXA), which was originally used as an antifibrinolytic agent, but is now known to have an effective mechanism of action in reducing hyperpigmentation. TXA works through plasminogen inhibition, tyrosinase activity, and angiogenesis, as well as providing anti-inflammatory effects. This study uses the PRISMA systematic review method, involving the analysis of 30 relevant articles out of a total of 289 articles identified. The results showed that topical TXA in various formulations, such as creams, gels, or liposomal serums, provided a significant reduction in the Melasma Area and Severity Index (MASI) score. The combination of TXA with other modalities, such as microneedling, laser, and vitamin C, showed more effective results than monotherapy. Topical TXA is an effective and safe therapeutic agent for melasma, especially in the case of refractory or combination therapies. Further research is needed to evaluate the long-term effectiveness and innovation of new formulations in improving the penetration and efficacy of TXA
Integration of House of Risk and Analytic Network Process Methods in Mitigation of Risk in the Sugar Production Process
PT.XYZ is a company engaged in manufacturing, specifically in the production of granulated sugar. The problem that occurs in this company is the increasing number of gravel sugar defects by 18% or 1,019.52 tons. This number far exceeds the defect limit set by the company of 5% or 283.2 tons per month. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the risks of the sugar production process using the House of Risk (HOR) method and determine the best alternative for priority risk mitigation through the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method at PT.XYZ. The HOR method is used to identify and classify risks based on severity and likelihood. Furthermore, the ANP method is used to determine the priority of risk mitigation strategies by considering the interdependence between risks. The results of the study showed that through the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) approach, 25 risk events and 25 risk sources were obtained which will be used to determine the mitigation strategy in the House Of Risk (HOR) method. Based on the calculation results of the rate agreement for alternative (W) of 0.777778, it shows a fairly high level of conformity among respondents' answers in selecting risk mitigation alternatives. Based on the calculation results on the super decision software, the highest normalized value was obtained, namely in the Desuperheater alternative of 0.51145. With this research, it is expected to help companies in overcoming company problems and can increase profits for the company
The Use of Social Media in the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar Campaign on Gen Z Political Participation
This research aims to describe and analyze the use of social media by generation Z in the 2024 presidential election campaign by the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar team. Using descriptive qualitative methods and an inductive approach, this study collected data through interviews and documentation. The results showed three main roles of social media in this campaign: as campaign media, a tool for developing political literacy, and a means of increasing voter participation. As campaign media, the use of social media involves creating interesting and relevant content, using the right platform, collaborating with influencers, and utilizing technology and internet access to reach a wider audience. In the development of political literacy, social media facilitates access to information, encourages engagement in public discussions, participation in the democratic process, and political education. It strengthens the interaction between candidates and the public and broadens public discussion. In addition, social media also plays a role in increasing voter participation by reaching target audiences, mobilizing voters, increasing interaction and engagement, and conducting monitoring and evaluation. Overall, the use of social media in the 2024 presidential election campaign by the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar team is effective in mobilizing the political participation of generation Z
Workforce Strategy in a Manufacturing Company to Improve PIMS Value
The workforce is a critical asset for a manufacturing company to remain competitive. However, the company faces significant challenges in managing its substantial workforce efficiently, such as rising expenditures driven by inflation, minimum wage legislation, and economic growth, which affect the PIMS (Profit Impact of Market Strategy) value. PIMS, a metric used to measure competitiveness by evaluating total blending volume per total expenditure, underscores the importance of controlling annual costs. With salaries, wages, and benefits constituting over half of these costs, a focused study on workforce and labor cost trends is essential. This study evaluates strategies to enhance the PIMS value by utilizing a mixed-method approach comprising both quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative approach involves analyzing internal reports on workforce numbers, expenditures, and potential operational efficiencies. The qualitative approach involves studying events and phenomena within the company and analyzing them using scientific logic and descriptive methods through semi-structured interviews with managerial staff. This analysis employs the Business Model Canvas and SWOT analysis to obtain comprehensive insights. Finally, the study results will provide detailed analysis of workforce composition and costs, linking them to PIMS metric and offering strategic insights for workforce optimization. It contributes to the scientific understanding of workforce management, emphasizing data-driven decision-making and economic factor impacts, serving as a model for continuous improvement in workforce strategies
The Impact of Job Alignment Policy on the Performance and Job Satisfaction of Functional Officials
At the beginning of 2021, the government, through the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, issued a new policy, namely the Regulation of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Number 17 of 2021 concerning the Equalization of Administrative Positions into Functional Positions. The simplification of bureaucracy through the equalization of positions represents a very fundamental change in the structure of local government, including in Purwakarta Regency. This change is expected not only to have a positive impact on the performance of newly appointed functional officials but also to contribute positively to the performance of the organization. This aligns with the initial spirit of bureaucratic simplification aimed at creating a dynamic, agile, and professional bureaucracy in support of public service performance
The Influence of Transformational Leadership and Organizational Culture on Employee Performance Through Organizational Commitment
Human resources (HR) play an important role in the success of an organization, including in the government sector such as the Sinjai Religious Court. Optimal employee performance reflects the effectiveness of the organization and is the main indicator of quality public service. This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership and organizational culture on employee performance, with organizational commitment as a mediating variable. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method, and sampling was carried out using a saturated sampling technique, involving the entire population of 49 respondents. The data analysis technique used the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Square (PLS) through SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of the analysis showed that transformational leadership had a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment with a P-Value of 0.043 <0.05. This finding indicates that the characteristics of transformational leaders such as inspiration, individual attention, and intellectual stimulation can increase employee commitment. However, interviews with employees indicated that performance was more determined by compliance with work procedures and professionalism, rather than direct direction from the leader. This shows that the influence of leadership on performance is not proven to be significant directly, but has more impact through increasing organizational commitment. Transformational leadership can indirectly strengthen employee performance through increased organizational commitment, especially in institutions that have formal and standard work systems
Analysis of the National Democratic Party's Refusal Joining the Prabowo-Gibran Coalition Government
This study aims to analyze the political dynamics related to the refusal of the National Democratic Party to join the Prabowo-Gibran Government Coalition after the victory of the 2024 Presidential/Vice Presidential Election. The focus of analysis in the research is directed at explaining the political dynamics both internal to the party and external to the Nasdem party after receiving the invitation of president elect Prabowo Subianto to join the Red-White Cabinet. This research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with Nasdem cadres and elites, political observers, literature studies and documentation. Laver & Schofield's (1998) coalition politics theory and Frans Magnis Suseno's (1991) concept of Political Ethics were used to answer the research problems. The results of this study show that the refusal of the National Democratic Party to join the Prabowo-Gibran government coalition is because this party does not have a strong political bargaining power both from the aspect of coalition politics and political ethics. The political implications of this party's political decision have impacted on the absence of opposition politics in the party system and the formation of a grand coalition government as a political consequence of the contestation of the 2024 presidential / vice presidential election and the weak culture of opposition parties in Indonesia since the Reformation era
Caldera Toba UGG Yellow Card and Stakeholder Synergy Issues
The designation of the Caldera Toba as a UNESCO Global Geopark (UGG) opens up great opportunities for Indonesia to be increasingly recognized in the eyes of the world, especially in the field of tourism. The uniqueness of the Caldera's geographical and morphological conditions is enhanced by the development and construction to promote the caldera to foreign and local tourists. However, in 2023 due to the lack of synergy between the government and local communities, UNESCO gave a yellow card as a warning to the Caldera Toba UGG. This research will argue the problems that occur in the Caldera Toba UGG and offer solutions that can be discussed again by the parties. The method used in this research is a literature study using books, reports, articles, journals, and other literature sources relevant to this discussion. Ecological damage caused by external and internal factors is the main factor in the damage and decline in tourist visits, in addition to the segmentation of power between stakeholders. These two factors are interrelated and need a balance of roles to overcome the problems of the Caldera Toba UGG yellow card
Legal Analysis of Land Certification Policy from the Perspective of Legal Certainty of Land Rights
This study aims to analyze land certification policies in order to realize legal certainty of land rights, with a focus on the implementation of the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program in Raas District, Sumenep Regency. The method used in this study is a normative juridical method with a legislative and conceptual approach. Data sources were obtained from primary legal materials such as the Basic Agrarian Law, Government Regulation No. 24 of 1997, and Regulation of the Minister of ATR/BPN No. 6 of 2018, supported by secondary legal materials in the form of scientific journals, books, and reports from related agencies. The results of the study indicate that the PTSL program has been normatively designed to provide legal protection for community land rights, however, its implementation in Raas District is still faced with various obstacles. These include low community participation, limited ownership documents, land boundary issues, and a lack of community legal understanding. Although the policy is aligned with the principle of legal certainty, its effectiveness is hampered by the lack of resources, infrastructure, and accessibility in the island region. This indicates a gap between legal norms and social reality. This study recommends the need to strengthen inter-institutional coordination, increase land service capacity, and provide ongoing legal outreach to ensure equitable and just legal certainty for communities in remote areas
