Analysis of Nasal Septal Deviation Types on Sinusitis Incidence: Literature Review

Nasal septal deviation is a common anatomical abnormality found in the general population and is thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of sinusitis. Some types of nasal septal deviation can impair sinus drainage and airflow, leading to inflammation and infection. However, there is no consensus on which type of septal deviation contributes most to sinusitis. Objective: This literature review aims to analyze and identify the types of nasal septal deviation that are most frequently associated with sinusitis. Methods: The data review was conducted using the PRISMA method, with data searches from PubMed, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect and Wiley with research data criteria between 2020-2024. The keywords used to search for data were "Type", "Nasal Septal Deviation", and "Sinusitis". A total of 23,943 articles were screened, with the final result being 20 articles that met the criteria for review. Results: Based on the review of the review in this study, nasal septal deviation (SND), especially types 3 and 5 according to the Mladina classification, contributes to chronic sinusitis through impaired ventilation and sinus drainage. Discussion : Nasal septal deviation (SND) is an anatomical abnormality that can interfere with airflow and sinus drainage, thus playing a role in the pathogenesis of sinusitis, especially types 3 and 5 according to the Mladina classification. These two types are often associated with osteomeatal complex obstruction and chronic mucosal irritation. The mechanisms involved include local hypoxia, mucociliary disorders, chronic inflammation, and changes in the microbiome

Maxillofacial trauma refers to injuries affecting the facial region and its surrounding tissues, involving both hard and soft tissue structures. When accompanied by head trauma, such injuries can be life-threatening, highlighting the critical need for prompt medical intervention. The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 in December 2019 prompted the World Health Organization (WHO) to recommend widespread social restrictions, significantly altering various aspects of life, including the patterns of maxillofacial trauma. This study aims to provide an overview of the characteristics of maxillofacial trauma before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study employs a rapid review methodology following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. Data were retrieved from Scopus, ScienceDirect, and PubMed databases using specific keywords: for the pre-pandemic period — (maxillofacial trauma* OR maxillofacial injuries) AND (incidence OR etiology OR type); and for the pandemic period — (maxillofacial trauma* OR maxillofacial injuries) AND (incidence OR etiology OR type) AND (COVID-19 OR COVID 19 OR coronavirus OR SARS-CoV-2). A total of 15 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed qualitatively. Prior to the pandemic, 15 etiological factors were identified, with road traffic accidents, falls, and interpersonal violence being the most common. The most prevalent types of trauma were orbital, mandibular, and zygomaticomaxillary complex (ZMC) injuries. During the pandemic, a decrease in reported cases was observed, along with fewer recorded etiological factors. Mandibular trauma emerged as the most frequently reported type, followed by orbital and ZMC trauma

This research does not question the success of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the Nunukan Sub-district Office in order to find out whether the case of institutional success has been attained, but rather to question the circumstances surrounding the declaring of performance. The study builds on SKP faces of 2023 and 2024 and conversations and observations in the field to reveal a troubling disjuncture between institutional measures and reality in the administrative realm. Records indicate that there is universal performance in quantity, quality, and time, but the organizational fabric paints a different picture: there is no balance in the workload, discipline is applied irregularly, motivation is presupposed but not built, and the leadership preserves the stability preserving the stability but depriving growth. In this case performance is not failing; it is done. The system of SKP, built on the vision of measuring contribution, actually turns into the engine of cloning the bureaucratic coziness, encouraging silence, and adherence to the procedures instead of results. This paper claims that performance appraisals when removed of context and criticism occupy a position where they can only be rituals that obfuscate institutional stagnation more than they can serve a corrective purpose. Rather than adding weight to the feasibility of your (collective) governance, putting border governance in an analytical standoff may question the validity of coherent assessment standards and demand the introduction of a performance paradigm that is built not on scrutiny, but structural truthfulness and societal accountability

This study examines the interference of competency, discipline and workload on the performance in a regulated professional services organization namely the Public Appraisal Services Office (KJPP) Satria Setiawan dan Rekan located in Indonesia. With the current performance expectations in service settings being more complex than ever before, it is important to spell out the dynamics behind the forces of productivity. Based on that, quantitative method, structural equation modelling using Smart PLS 4.0 and the study sample containing 75 certified appraisers registered in the Indonesian Ministry of Finance were employed. Findings show how competency, discipline and workload are having significant effects towards job satisfaction and significantly to the extent that the employee performance is affected positively. More importantly, competency plays a full mediatorship role through job satisfaction, which is not manifested in the case of discipline and workload. These data indicate that technical skills and structure of tasks are not enough to determine the outcome of a performance, rather there is another central psychological process job satisfaction that mediates or diminishes the effect of the foregoing processes. Therefore, on the managerial level, the strategy of human capital will have to go beyond the functional training and adherence protocols to invoking embodied experience and emotional commitment in the employees. Job satisfaction should be viewed as an organizational strategic priority by the organizations trying to ensuring sustainable performance through use of job satisfaction in competency development, work load design and cultural reinforcement

The existing condition of the Pacal Dam is experiencing swallowing due to sedimentation, resulting in a reduction in storage capacity. The construction of the Gongseng Dam is a solution to this problem.Pacal Dam and Gongseng Dam are semi-cascade dams whose management is an integration of different rivers. Hydrological analysis was carried out to obtain the Inflow hydrograph using the Nakayasu HSS Method using the discharge value at a 500-year return period (Q500). To determine the optimal capacity in flood control, a simulation of the operation of the Pacal Dam gate was carried out using the Level Pool Routing method on each dam. There are four scenarios simulated in the operation of the Pacal Dam spillway gate, namely the gate is completely closed (scenario 1), the gate is opened 50% (scenario 2), the gate is opened 75% (scenario 3), and the gate is fully opened (scenario 4). The simulation results show that in scenario 1 the Pacal dam is not safe, with a maximum outflow discharge value of 72.12 m3/dt with a water level above the spillway of 6.16. In scenarios 2, 3, and 4, the outflow discharge value is 80.39 m3/dt, 113,49 m3/dt, 143,62 m3/dt with water height above the spillway of 2.68 m, 2.37 m, 2.14 m. The results of the simulation of the operation of scenarios 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Gongseng Dam routing are safe with a maximum outflow discharge value of 260.15 m3/dt, 280,89 m3/dt, 297,90 m3/dt, 319, 38 m3/dt and water height of 1.98 m, 2.08 m, 2.16 m, 2.27 mon spillway landmark. The best scenario is scenario 4 considering the height of the guard water on the spillway
