Oscillating onset of the Rayleigh–Bénard convection with viscoelastic fluids in a slightly tilted cavity
International audienceThe oscillating onset of the Rayleigh–Bénard convection with viscoelastic fluids in a slightly tilted two-dimensional rectangular cavity with an aspect ratio of Γ = 2 was investigated for the first time via direct numerical simulation. A series of simulations were conducted in the plane of the Rayleigh number ( Ra) and the tilt angle ([Formula: see text]) with three Weissenberg numbers [[Formula: see text]] at a fixed Prandtl number Pr = 7.0. The evolutionary path of the oscillating convection onset in the [Formula: see text]-plane was determined, and the corresponding complex flow structures were observed. The inclination of the box delays the onset of the oscillations and the corresponding Rayleigh number Rac as compared to the horizontal configuration. Oscillating flow structures acquire the attributes of a traveling wave. A specific feature of the oscillating convection in the case of the horizontal cavity is that the periodicity in space and time exists in the inclined box case as well. However, the evolution of the oscillatory flow structure is very different from the horizontal case in that the counterclockwise cell assimilates the clockwise cell [Zheng et al., “Pattern selection in Rayleigh–Bénard convection with nonlinear viscoelastic fluids,” Phys. Talent Management, its Practices and Antecedents: ASystematic Review
International audienceThe most critical challenge for today's organisations is to manage their pool of talent e fectively. The managers need some strategic moves and practices to acquire, develop and retain the key employees. Despite the fact that acquiring and managing high performing talent has gained a lot of attention from academicians and scholars, it still has several questions unanswered. The dimensions like speci c de nition, practices, factors and its outcomes are still not clear. This paper is an attempt to advance our knowledge about various aspects relating to managing talent by corporations. The de nition, framework, practices and predictors of talent management are covered in the study based on previous domains of talent management. The conceptual study is conducted to cover the gap in existing literature. The study is based on secondary research related to talent management, its practices and various antecedents. The methodology followed is to have a systematic review of existing literature relating to the TM eld

Involvement of Pharmacists in the Emergency Department to Correct Errors in the Medication History and the Impact on Adverse Drug Event Detection
International audienceIncomplete or wrong medication histories can lead to missed diagnoses of Adverse Drug Effects (ADEs). We aimed to evaluate pharmacist-identified ED errors in the medication histories obtained by physicians, and their consequences for ADE detection. This prospective monocentric study was carried out in an ED of a university hospital. We included adult patients presenting with an ADE detected in the ED. The best possible medication histories collected by pharmacists were used to identify errors in the medication histories obtained by physicians. We described these errors, and identified those related to medications involved in ADEs. We also identified the ADEs that could not have been detected without the pharmacists’ interventions. Of 735 patients presenting with an ADE, 93.1% had at least one error on the medication list obtained by physicians. Of the 1047 medications involved in ADEs, 51.3% were associated with an error in the medication history. In total, 23.1% of the medications involved in ADEs were missing in the physicians’ medication histories and were corrected by the pharmacists. (4) Medication histories obtained by ED physicians were often incomplete, and half the medications involved in ADEs were not identified, or were incorrectly characterized in the physicians’ medication histories
How do Urban Factors Control the Severity of COVID-19?
Abstract Human health in urban environment has emerged as a primary focus of sustainable development during the time of global pandemic caused by a severe acute respiratory syndrome due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, COVID-19. It has reshaped the world with the way our communities interact, people work, commute, and spend their leisure time. While different mitigation solutions for controlling COVID-19 virus transmission have already been established, global models that would explain and predict the impact of urban environments on the case fatality ratio CFR of COVID-19 (defined as the number of deaths divided by the number of cases over a time window) are missing. Here, with readily available data from public sources, we study the CFR of the coronavirus for 118 locations (city zip-codes, city boroughs, and cities) worldwide to identify the links between the CFR and outdoor, indoor and personal urban factors. We show that a probabilistic model, optimized on the sample of 20 districts from 4 major US cities, provides an accurate predictive tool for the CFR of COVID-19 regardless of the geographical location. When adjusted for the population, our model can be used to evaluate risk and severity of the disease at multi-geospatial scales worldwide ranging from zip-codes and neighborhoods to cities and countries for different waves of the pandemic. Our results suggest that although disease screening and vaccination policies to containment and lockdowns remain critical in controlling the spread of airborne diseases, urban factors such as population density, humidity, or order of buildings, should all be taken into consideration when identifying resources and planning targeted responses to mitigate the impact and severity of the viruses transmitted through air. We advocate the study of urban factors as a path towards facilitating timely deployment of targeted countermeasures and confinement strategies where sharing of personal information and availability of tests may be restricted or limited
