    Stochastic Analysis of Two Non-identical Unit Parallel System Incorporating Waiting Time and Preventive Maintenance

    The reliability of two non-identical unit’s parallel system with two kinds of failures common cause failure and partial failures is inspected. Moreover, the preventive maintenance and waiting time to repair, a significant aspect of reliability analysis, has also been incorporated. The proposed system is assumed to a function properly if at least one of the unit is in operate mode. The system goes for preventive maintenance at random apaches. Supplementary variable technique and Laplace transform have used for solution. Our results are compared with the previous results to observe the effect of preventive maintenance and failure rates on system performance

    On Spectral-Homotopy Perturbation Method Solution of Nonlinear Differential Equations in Bounded Domains

    In this study, a combination of the hybrid Chebyshev spectral technique and the homotopy perturbation method is used to construct an iteration algorithm for solving nonlinear boundary value problems. Test problems are solved in order to demonstrate the efficiency, accuracy and reliability of the new technique and comparisons are made between the obtained results and exact solutions. The results demonstrate that the new spectral homotopy perturbation method is more efficient and converges faster than the standard homotopy analysis method. The methodology presented in the work is useful for solving the BVPs consisting of more than one differential equation in bounded domains.Â

    Compensating Power Depletion Due to Stimulated Raman Scattering in High-Power Delivery Fiber Via Spectral Inversion Revisited in a View of Experimental Implementation

    Broadband spectral inversion was proved theoretically to be an effective method to compensate power depletion due to stimulated Raman scattering in high-power delivery fiber. A critical difficulty in implementing the method in experiment is to realize broadband spectral inversion of incoherent light as Raman Stokes waves are incoherent due to their origin from spontaneous emission noise. Broadband spectral inversion of incoherent light is investigated experimentally in this article. A beam from an amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) light source is used as an approximated Raman Stokes waves in the experiment. ASE Spectrum of width of 10.5nm is inverted via four-wave mixing in a highly nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber in efficiency of -10dB without significant spectrum deformation. A theoretical model for four-wave mixing of ASE incoherent light is established, and based on which the limitation in more broadband spectral inversion of ASE incoherent light is analyzed

    Synthesis and optimization of Novel Chitosan/Cellulose Acetate Natural Polymer Membrane for water treatment

    Chitosan (Ch) and Cellulose Acetate (CA) natural polymer in addition to other samples with different mass fractions of Chitosan/Cellulose Acetate (Ch/CA) were synthesized via simple casting route. Prepared samples were studied using FT-IR and UV/vis spectroscopic techniques. Structural variations due to the process of blending were retraced using X-ray diffraction data (XRD) and morphological investigation using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Obtained spectral data reveals compatibility and complexation between polymer constituents identified through presence of polymer characteristic peaks with small variation in both intensity and position along with change in the value of optical energy gap from UV optical absorption spectral data. XRD pattern indicate the semicrystalline nature of the studied sample with an observable change in the crystallinity. Moreover, scanning electron microscopic (SEM) micrographs reveals homogenous structure without any evidence for agglomerations nearly in all compositions

    Radiological Mapping of Al-Dabaa Site at Low Depth Profile for Evaluation its Suitability for Disposal of Radioactive Wastes

    Disposal sites use series of natural and engineered barriers to contain either radioactive wastes and or spent nuclear fuel. Migration of radionuclide and their pathways studies are carried out as selection criteria of radioactive waste disposal/storage facility. In the framework of the planned NPPs program at Al-Dabaa site, radiological mapping at low depth profile of a specific area within the site has been carried out for evaluation its suitability for disposal of radioactive wastes. Twenty samples were collected from different bore holes of about 12-meterdepthprofile.The samples were transported to the laboratory and prepared for non-destructive assay using well calibrated 60% efficiency High-Purity Germanium (HpGe) detector. The natural radioactivity of 235U, 238U (234Th), 226Ra, 232Th and 40K were determined and quantified. The 235U/238U activity ratios were also calculated and found to be within the natural signature. The Absorbed dose rates (nGy/h) were also calculated and found in the average world value; 59nGy/h. The man-made 137Cs was also found in ultra-low activity concentrations, where the highest value was found to be 0.00987 Bq/kg. The mineralogy of the collected site samples was also investigated by x-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis technique to identify and determine the major mineral structure of the samples. It was observed that Dolomite and Calcite are the major minerals of the investigated site. The results are discussed and represented as histograms, contour mapping and 3D correlations. These results are also going to be used as inputs and bases for a future work; code modeling for evaluation of Al-Dabaa site

    Cadmium Doped Copper Containing Phosphate Glass as a Bandpass Filter for Solar Cell Protection

    A glass system of composition 44P2O5-38ZnO-2CuO-(16-x)Na2O-xCdO (where, x = 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 mol%) has been prepared using the conventional melt quenching technique. XRD patterns confirmed the amorphous nature for the prepared samples. Archimedes method was used to determine the density of the prepared glass samples then the molar volume was calculated. The optical spectroscopic investigations of the prepared glass samples were carried out over the spectral range (190-1100 nm). The transmission spectra revealed that the prepared glass samples behave as bandpass filters in the visible region. The absorption studies were employed to determine the optical band gap and Urbach energy. The spectral distribution of the refractive index assured the lowest dispersion of the glass in the visible region. Other physical parameters such as the extinction coefficient, the optical conductivity, and the complex dielectric constant were evaluated. The results suggested the practicality of employing such low-cost glass as a bandpass filter for optical applications such as UV-elimination and solar cell protection. The role of CdO as a network modifier in the phosphate glass was revealed

    Influence of Low Ti-Element Additions on The Microstructure, Melting Properties and Creep Behavior of Sn-Ag-Cu Lead Free Solders

    Sn-3.5wt.%Ag-0.5wt.%Cu is one of the alloys considered for replacing SnPb solder alloys in electronic ambiance. In the present study, the effect of minor additions of Ti (0.25, 0.5, 1.0 wt.%) on the microstructure, creep and thermal properties of Sn-3.5wt.%Ag-0.5wt.%Cu lead free solder alloy are investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD), creep tests and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) thermal tests. Results showed that the addition of different wt.% of Ti refined the grain size of the solder alloys. The microstructure parameters obtained from x-ray analysis represented by lattice parameters (a,c), axial ratio (c/a), residual strains (?a/a? & ?c/c?), peak height intensities and crystallite size of some crystallographic planes were found to be sensitive to Ti - additions, applied stresses and working temperatures. The morphological studies using SEM showed refinements of Ag3Sn, Cu6Sn5 and Ti2Sn3 (IMCs) in ?-Sn matrix. Thermal analysis showed that Ti - additions slightly affect melting temperature and pastry range. In terms of creep behavior the addition of 1wt.%Ti gave the highest creep resistance with respect to the others, due to fine dispersion of IMCs. The stress exponents (n) and the activation energies (Q) indicated that the dominant creep mechanism is dislocation climb over all temperature range

    Electrodeposited MnO2- Carbon Cloth Supercapacitor Electrode Material for High Power Applications

    Carbon cloth is a promising new material for the electrodes of supercapacitors, owing to their high surface area, flexibility, high conductivity with chemical stability. In this work, MnO2 was electrodeposited on a commercially available post treated carbon cloth. The MnO2 deposited carbon cloth was examined using HRSEM, which reveals the formation of nanosized irregular structure of MnO2 over the carbon cloth. Electrochemical study was performed which revealed the specific capacitance of 483 Fg–1 at a scan rate of 10mVs–1. The fabricated device exhibited good electrochemical performance with energy density of 22WKg–1 at a power density 330KWKg–1. The results were convincing to use this material for high power applications

    Detection and Classification of Leukemia using MPFCM Segmentation and Random Forest with Boosting Techniques

    Identification of blood disorders is through visual inspection of microscopic blood cell images. From the identification of blood disorders lead to classification of certain diseases related to blood. We propose an automatic segmentation method for segmenting White blood cell images. Firstly, modified possibilistic fuzzy c-means algorithm is proposed to detect the contours in the image. The GLCM features are extracted and features are selected by MRMR. Adaptive boosting and LS Boosting has been utilized to classify blast cells from normal lymphocyte cells. Comparison performance of classification accuracy was carried out. The effectiveness of the classification system is tested with the total of 80 samples collected. The evaluated results demonstrate that our method outperformed the existing systems with an accuracy of 88  %

    Novel Analytical Study For The Charge-Transfer Reactions Of Omeprazole With 2,3-Dichloro-Naphthoquinone And 2,3,5,6-Tetrabromo- 1,4-Benzoquinone: Application For The Development Of Microwell Assay Of Omeprazole

    Novel analytical study was performed in order to develop and validate new high-throughput microwell-based spectrophotometric assays for determination of omeprazole (OMZ) in its pharmaceutical formulations. The proposed assays were based on the charge-transfer (CT) reaction of OMZ with 2,3-dichloronaphthoquinone (DCNQ) and 2,3,5,6-tetrabromo-1,4-benzo-quinone (BROM). In the present study, the CT reactions was carried out in microwell plates as reaction vessels in order to increase the automation of the assays and the efficiency of its use in quality control laboratories (QCLs). All factors affecting the CT reactions were carefully studied, and the conditions were optimized. Kinetics and stoichiometry of the CT reactions were investigated, and the mechanism was postulated. Activation energy of the CT reactions was determined and found to be 13.87 and 16.27 Kcal mol−1 for the reaction of OMZ with DCNQ and BROM, respectively. The initial rate and fixed time methods were applied for generating the calibration graphs for determination of OMZ concentrations. Under the optimum conditions, the linear range was 0.145 – 1.45 x 10-4 and 1.45 – 7.25 x 10-4 M with LOD of 0.6 and 6.0 microgram ml-1 for DCNQ and BROM, respectively. Analytical performance of the proposed methods, in terms of accuracy and precision, was statistically validated and the results were satisfactory; RSD was <2.8% for both repeatability and reproducibility. The proposed methods were successfully applied to the analysis of OMZ in its dosage forms and the recovery results (98.64 – 100.6 ± 0.25 -2.74 %) were comparable with those of the reported method. The developed method may provide a safer and economic tool for the analysis of OMZ in QCLs
