Do Black Holes Really Exist?
This article offers a brief critical research of the origins that gave rise to the theory of black holes and the ground on which it is based. The aim is to highlight some contradictions in the interior of the theory itself, which could seriously question their existence
Levels of Toxic Metals in Skin Lightening Agents Marketed in Nigeria
Background: Bleaching agents produced by registered companies in developed countries have regulated concentrations. But various local skin lightening agents produced in Africa, especially Nigeria have no identified active agent. This study determined the levels of potentially toxic heavy metals constituents of bleaching agents commonly used by Nigerians. Methods: Twelve different types of skin lightening creams (Extra white, Make me white, Extract, Perfect white, UV lightening, Pure skin, Body treat, Dodo up, Bronze tone, White express, Peau Claire and Otentika) available Nigerian markets were randomly collected based on their usage and availability. Three non- lightening creams served as the controls for this study. Levels of mercury, lead, cadmium, chromium and arsenic were determined in both lightening and non- lightening creams (controls) using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). Results: All lightening creams 12/12 (100%) contained significantly (p<0.05) higher levels of mercury compared with the control. 11/12 (91.7%) of the lightening creams contained significantly (p>0.05) higher levels of lead compared with the control. Levels of arsenic were significantly (p<0.05) higher in 11/12 (91.7%) of the lightening creams compared with control. Levels of cadmium increase significantly (p<0.05) in 4/12 (22.92%) of the lightening creams compared with the control. 4/12 (22.92%) of the lightening creams contained significantly (p<0.05) higher levels of chromium compared with control
A New Inexact Non-Interior Continuation Algorithm for Second-Order Cone Programming
Second-order cone programming has received considerable attention in the past decades because of its wide range of applications. Non-interior continuation method is one of the most popular and efficient methods for solving second-order cone programming partially due to its superior numerical performances. In this paper, a new smoothing form of the well-known Fischer-Burmeister function is given. Based on the new smoothing function, an inexact non-interior continuation algorithm is proposed. Attractively, the new algorithm can start from an arbitrary point, and it solves only one system of linear equations inexactly and performs only one line search at each iteration. Moreover, under a mild assumption, the new algorithm has a globally linear and locally Q-quadratical convergence. Finally, some preliminary numerical results are reported which show the effectiveness of the presented algorithm
Calculations on a Class of Candidate Solutions for the Distortion Problem on l 2
In 1994 E. Odell and Th. Schlumprecht showed that the Hilbert space (` 2 ) was arbitrarily distortable.However, we do not have a defined sequence of norms that would perform this distortion. G. An-droulakis and the author defined a class of norms equivalent to the Hilbert space norm. These normsare candidate sequences of norms that might distort ` 2 . These norms are recursively defined andcalculations with these norms are quite difficult. Here we present a tool, a Python program, thatcalculates the norms defined by G. Androulakis and the author
Convergence of the Collatz Sequence
For any natural number was created the supplement sequence, that is convergent together with the original Collatz sequence. The numerical parameter - index was defined, that is the same for both sequences. This new method provides the following results:
All natural numbers were distributed into six different classes;
The properties of index were found for the different classes;
For any natural number was constructed the bounded sequence of increasing numbers,
that is convergent together with the regular Collatz sequence
Division And Combination In Linear Algebra
In this paper, the relationship between matrix operation, linear equations, linear representation of vector groups and linear correlation is discussed, and the idea of division and combination in linear algebra is discussed to help learners understand the connections between various knowledge points of linear algebra from multiple angles, deep levels, and high dimensions
Decrypting the Central Mystery of Quantum Mathematics:: Part 4. In What Medium Do Elementary Waves Travel?
We live in a world, half of which consists of invisible elementary waves, of which we know very little. They are not electromagnetic waves: they travel in the opposite direction and convey no energy. What is the medium in which they travel? Franco Selleri (1936-2013) of University of Bari, Italy, devoted his career to answering that question. He developed his own theory of relativity. Zero energy quantum waves travel in Lorentz aether at rest. His relativity differs from Einstein’s Theory of Special Relativity (TSR) in terms of Absolute Simultaneity. If two events are simultaneous for one observer, they are simultaneous for all observers. Although this contradicts TSR, international treaties have adopted Absolute Simultaneity as the basis for coordinating all atomic clocks to the nanosecond. Atomic clocks control all other clocks. Absolute simultaneity is essential for commerce and computer networks.. Selleri’s relativity can be divided into two parts: time and aether. Time can be understood without ever speaking of the speed of light. When it comes to aether, a subject rarely mentioned today, it appears to be Isaac Newton’s absolute time and space, modified to fit the Lorentz transformations and the non-Euclidean curved space of Einstein’s General Relativity
Oxidative Study of Benzaldehyde by Isoqauinolinium Bromo Chromate
The kinetics analysis of the oxidative reaction between benzaldehyde and oxidant is quinolinium Bromo chromate was reported in aqueous 40% acetic acid medium at 313 K. The rate of reaction varies first-power of [IQBC] and [H2SO4], whereas fractional-order kinetics was observed for benzaldehyde. The rate constant gradually increases with decrease in dielectric constant of the medium. The neutral salt does not alter the rate. The metal cations (Cu++) slightly accelerate the rate of oxidation when added to reaction mixture. The study rules out the participation of keto form of substrate in complex formation. Benzoic acid was identified as the end-product in stoichiometrically 1:1 based mechanism. The rate law was derived in accordance with the kinetic results
For some boundary Value Problems in Distributions
In this paper we give a result concerning convergent sequences of functions that give convergent sequence of distributions in and find the analytic representation of the distribution obtained by their boundary values. Also, we present two examples
Intransitive Permutation Groups with Bounded Movement Having Maximum Degree
Let G be a permutation group on a set withno fixed points in and let m be a positive integer. If for each subset T of the size |Tg\T| is bounded, for gEG, we define the movement of g as the max|Tg\T| over all subsets T of . In this paper we classified all of permutation groups on set of size 3m + 1 with 2 orbits such that has movement m . 2000 AMS classification subjects: 20B2
