Relationship Stickiness, International Trade, and Economic Uncertainty
International audienceWe study how stickiness in business relationships influences the trade impact of aggregate uncertainty. To begin, we construct a product-level index of relationship stickiness using firm-to-firm relationship duration data. We then demonstrate how relationship stickiness shapes trade dynamics in response to uncertainty shocks. We find that episodes of uncertainty lead to a decline in the overall establishment of new business relationships, with the impact varying depending on the level of stickiness. In markets characterized by high stickiness, uncertainty shocks primarily impede investments in new firm-to-firm relationships. In contrast, for non-sticky products, the adjustment to uncertainty shocks mainly manifests as the disruption of existing relationships

International audienceThis article examines the rural economy in the Cantal moun-tains, located within the Arverni territory during the Roman Empire, focusing on villas and farms in mid-mountain areas. Through archaeological surveys and analysis, it reveals a network of secondary settlements and villas that integrated agriculture, livestock farming, and mining, notably lead-silver extraction. Particular attention is given to the economic role of villas, as seen in their architectural investments, ceramic production, and integration into trade networks supplying wine, oil, and pottery. The study also highlights the strategic placement of these sites along key trade routes, underscoring their connection to regional markets. Despite challenges posed by the terrain, these mid-mountain zones were dynamic contributors to the regional economy, reflecting a blend of local production and goods brought in from elsewhere. The findings suggest an adaptive economy that leveraged the area’s natural resources while participating in broader economic systems

The role of flow in consumer environmental commitment applied to the case of immersive 360° educational videos
International audienceNowadays, the development of consumers' environmental commitment has become a major societal issue. This study examines the effects of interactivity in a 360° immersive video on environmental commitment. To achieve the research objectives, an initial experiment was conducted with a sample of 60 individuals, divided into two subgroups of 30 participants each. After watching a 360° immersive video raising awareness about ocean pollution, self-reported measures of flow, concern, information, control, and curiosity were collected. At this stage, the analysis of the results has not yet been finalized, and a second phase of data collection will be implemented to expand the sample in each experimental condition

A missing paradigm: deciphering endocrine innovations among diverging regulations of alleles, paralogous genes and orthologous genes
International audienceIn endocrinology, there are many similarities in the regulation of gene expression between alleles, paralogous genes or orthologous genes, at the genetic or epigenetic level. However, there are also major differences in the spatial and temporal expression patterns of these genes, in particular between species. In few cases, it has been shown in vitro and/or in vivo that regulatory differences are mainly due to subtle differences (from one bp to less than 12 bp) in the nucleotide sequence of transcription factor-binding sites localized in the vicinity of the proximal promoter. In this short review, we propose to cite some of them, without claiming to be exhaustive. We also briefly review new methodologies that allow for more global studies of comparisons of expression regulations at the transcriptional level. We also discuss whether such studies could have given rise to any paradigm
