L’héritage herrmannien dans Furie (Brian De Palma, 1978)
International audienceThis article explores Bernard Herrmann’s legacy in John Williams’s score for The Fury (1978), directed by Brian De Palma. It highlights Herrmann’s aesthetic and technical influence, which Williams explicitly acknowledges, primarily through repetitive motifs, orchestration techniques, and strong harmonic tension. The study underscores the relationship between Herrmann and Williams, as well as De Palma’s role as a mediator between the two composers, having himself worked with Herrmann on Sisters and Obsession, films marked by Hitchcockian production. A detailed musical analysis reveals how Williams assimilates Herrmann’s techniques while asserting his own distinctive style. More than a mere homage, The Fury’s score is embedded within a historical continuity of Hollywood symphonism, demonstrating the permeability between tradition and innovation in 1970s film music.

Trichogerminoma with malignant transformation
International audienceTrichogerminoma (TG) is a rare adnexal tumor with hair follicle differentiation with less than 50 cases reported in the literature. In 2022, by investigating the genetic profile of 21 cases, our group identified recurrent rearrangements of the GRHL1/2/3 genes in this tumor entity, suggesting such alteration as the main oncogenic driver in TG. Up to now, only one TG case of malignant transformation has been reported. In the present letter, we report a second case of TG with malignant transformation and provide molecular characterization of this tumor
archeofrag.gui: Spatial Analysis in Archaeology from Refitting Fragments (GUI)
A 'Shiny' application to access the functionalities and datasets of the 'archeofrag' package for spatial analysis in archaeology from refitting data. Quick and seamless exploration of archaeological refitting datasets, focusing on physical refits only. Features include: built-in documentation and convenient workflow, plot generation and exports, exploration of spatial units merging solutions, simulation of archaeological site formation processes, support for parallel computing, R code generation to re-execute simulations and ensure reproducibility, code generation for the 'openMOLE' model exploration software. Appunti su riso e sorriso in Leon Battista Alberti: il caso delle maschere di Socrate, Democrito e Genipatro
International audienceThis paper aims to investigate the philosophical value of smile and laughter in Leon Battista Alberti’s Momus and Theogenius. In doing so, I shall define, on the one hand, the function of laughter of the masks of Socrates and Democritus, and, on the other hand, the function of Genipatro’s smile. The purpose is to establish not only their differences, but also their specific meaning within the framework of Alberti’s moral reflection. Thus, I shall attempt to show how the use of laughter and that of smile represent two different conceptions of human experience of insanity, which is as much a fundamental part of the construction of the masks of Socrates and Democritus in the Momus as it is of the content of the Theogenius. This study allows to establish an important difference between Socrates and Democritus, on one side, and the figure of Genipatro, on the other, on which Alberti develops his philosophy. The results of this study may contribute to deepening the historiographical theory of Alberti’s humour
