Sparse decomposition of Heart Rate using a Bernoulli-Gaussian model: application to sleep apnoea detection
No full textInternational audienceIn this paper, we propose a sparse decomposition of the heart rate during sleep with 1application to apnoea-RERA detection. We observed that the tachycardia following an apnoea has a 2quasi-deterministic shape with a random amplitude. Accordingly, we model the apnoea-perturbed 3heart rate as a Bernoulli-Gaussian (BG) process convolved with a deterministic reference signal that 4allows identification of tachycardia and bradycardia events. The problem of determining the BG 5series indicating the presence-absence of an event and estimating its amplitude is a deconvolution 6problem for which sparsity is imposed. This allows an almost syntactic representation of the heart 7rate on which simple detection algorithms are applied

No full textInternational audienceL’objet de ce chapitre est de comprendre et discuter une thèse de Sartre, essentiellement présentée dans le chapitre 2 de la première partie de L’Être et le Néant : La mauvaise foi n’est pas un état. La question principale est de déterminer si la mauvaise foi est une condition, ou un état, ou encore une conduite. Que veut dire Sartre par « pouvoir être de mauvaise foi » ?S’agit-il d’un pouvoir être qui est toujours ordinairement réalisé ? S’agit-il d’un pouvoir être qui serait aussi un pouvoir ne pas être de mauvaise foi, une sorte de faculté nue, de sorte que la mauvaise foi pourrait être en position « marche » ou en position « arrêt » selon les divers moments, les diverses situations, les divers individus ? S’agit-il d’un pouvoir être de mauvaise foi en un autre sens, une sorte de tendance ou de disposition à adopter des conduites de mauvaise foi ? C’est cette dernière piste que nous allons explorer, en dialoguant avec Sartre
Practical Nonlinear Model Predictive Control for Improving Two-Wheel Vehicle Energy Consumption
No full textInternational audienceIncreasing the range of electric vehicles (EVs) is possible with the help of eco-driving techniques, which are algorithms that consider internal and external factors, like performance limits and environmental conditions, such as weather. However, these constraints must include critical variables in energy consumption, such as driver preferences and external vehicle conditions. In this article, a reasonable energy-efficient non-linear model predictive control (NMPC) is built for an electric two-wheeler vehicle, considering the Paris-Brussels route with different driving profiles and driver preferences. Here, NMPC is successfully implemented in a test bed, showing how to obtain the different parameters of the optimization problem and the estimation of the energy for the closed-loop system from a practical point of view. The efficiency of the brushless DC motor (BLCD) is also included for this test bed. In addition, this document shows that the proposal increases the chance of traveling the given route with a distance accuracy of approximately 1.5% while simultaneously boosting the vehicle autonomy by almost 20%. The practical result indicates that the strategy based on an NMPC algorithm can significantly boost the driver's chance of completing the journey. If the vehicle energy is insufficient to succeed in the trip, the algorithm can guide the minimal State of Charge (SOC) required to complete the journey to reduce the driver energy-related uncertainty to a minimum
