Moreover, we prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of this functional equation, where f, g are functions defined on an abelian group with values in a topological vector space

    Casson Fluid Flow Past on Vertical Cylinder in the Presence of Chemical Reaction and Magnetic Field

    In this paper, we have examined the behavior of unsteady flow of a viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting Casson fluid past an impulsively started vertical cylinder with variable temperature and mass diffusion in the presence of transversely applied uniform magnetic field and chemical reaction. The temperature and concentration level near the surface increase linearly with time. The governing equations of non-dimensional form of flow model have been solved numerically by using Crank-Nicolson implicit finite difference method. The velocity profile is discussed with the help of graphs drawn for different parameters like Casson fluid parameter, Prandtl number, chemical reaction parameter and the magnetic field parameter. The numerical values obtained for skin-friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number have been tabulated. It is seen that the values obtained for velocity, concentration and temperature are in concurrence with the actual flow of the Casson fluid. The importance of the problem can be seen in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, coal in water, paints, and synthetic lubricants etc

    Hall Current and Radiation Effects on Unsteady Natural Convection MHD flow with Inclined Magnetic field

    In the present paper, Hall current and radiation effects on unsteady natural convection MHD flow with inclined magnetic field is studied. The viscous, incompressible and an electrically conducting fluid is considered. This model contains equations of motion, equation of energy and diffusion equation. The system of partial differential equations is transformed to dimensionless equations by using dimensionless variables. Exact solution of governing equations is obtained by Laplace Transform Technique. For analysing the solution of the model, desirable sets of the values of the parameters have been considered. The obtained results of velocity, concentration and temperature have been analysed with the help of graphs drawn for different parameters. The numerical values of Nusselt number have been tabulated. The results of the study may find applications in the field related to the solar physics dealing with the solar cycle, Magnetohydrodynamics sensors, rotating MHD induction machine energy generator, the sunspot development, the structure of rotating magnetic stars etc

    Maximum Contraflow Evacuation Planning Problems On Multi-network

    Contraflow approach for the evacuation planning problem increases outbound capacity of the evacuation routes by the reversal of anti-parallel arcs, if such arcs exist. The existing literature focuses on network contraflow problems that allow only anti-parallel arcs with equal transit time. However, the problems modeled on multi-network, allowing parallel as well as anti-parallel arcs with not necessarily equal transit time, seem more realistic. In this paper, we study the maximum dynamic contraflow problem for multi-network and propose efficient solution techniques to them with discrete as well as continuous time settings. We also extend the results to solve earliest version of the problem for two terminal series parallel (TTSP) multi-network

    IL-17 signaling induces iNOS+ microglia activation in retinal vascular diseases

    Activation of microglia and inflammation-mediated vascular damages are suggested to play a decisive role in the pathogenesis of various retinopathies. The inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) was required for activated microglia-mediated injuries. However, the induction mechanism of microglia activation during retinal vascular diseases is still elusive. Here we showed that IL-17 induced microglia activation with high expression of iNOS and promoted the development of retinal vascular diseases. IL-17-dependent activation of the STAT3-iNOS pathway was essentially required for microglia activation, which promoted endothelial cell growth and accelerated vascular leakage and leukostasis via IL-6 in vitro and in vivo. Taken together, our data provide novel mechanistic insights on microglia activation-mediated retinopathy, unveil the specific role of IL-17 on microglia, and define novel therapeutic targets for treating retinal vascular diseases

    In this paper, Sm3+ doped Lu2W0.5Mo0.5O6, Lu2WMoO9, and Lu2(W0.5Mo0.5O4)3 materials were synthesized by using a two-step solid-state reaction method. The synthesized materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, field emission scanning electronic micrograph (FESEM) pictures, photoluminescence (PL) excitation and emission spectra, and temperature-dependent emission intensities. Orange-reddish light could be observed from the phosphors under ultraviolet (UV) 365 nm light. The Sm3+ doped Lu2WMoO9 had enhanced PL intensities compared to the other two materials. The excitation, the energy transfer, the nonradiative relaxation, and the emission processes were illustrated by using schematic diagrams of Sm3+ in Lu2MoWO9. The optimal Sm3+ doping concentration was explored in the enhancing luminescence of Lu2WMoO9. By combing the Sm3+ doped Lu2WMoO9 to UV 365 nm chips, near white lighting emitting diode (W-LED) were obtained. The phosphor can be used in single phosphor-based UVW-LEDs

    Longitudinal Stability of Work–Family Enrichment and its Association With Well-Being and Personality Traits

    Are higher levels of work–family enrichment a consequence or manifestation of certain personality traits and individuals’ psychological functioning? Using random intercept cross-lagged panel models, we examined the hypothesized stability of work-to-family enrichment (WFE) and family-to-work enrichment (FWE) over two 10-year intervals, and the extent to which the within-person changes of WFE and FWE are associated with personality traits, psychological well-being, and possible gender differences. In this 20-year, longitudinal data analysis of employed adults (N = 535), results indicated the robust nature of the stability of WFE and FWE. Our results suggest that personality traits are not associated with within-person change for either WFE or FWE, but psychological well-being is associated with within-person change. Theoretically and conceptually, our findings provide strong evidence that work–family enrichment is not simply an “optimistic worldview” created by personality and well-being. The within-person results lend strong evidence that interventions that improve psychological well-being will also enhance work–family enrichment

    Introduction New HIV infection during pre-conception and pregnancy is a significant contributor of mother-to-child transmission of HIV in South Africa. This study estimated HIV incidence (defined as new infection within the last one year from the time of the survey which included both new infections occurred during pregnancy or just before pregnancy) among pregnant women and described the characteristics of recently infected pregnant women at national level. Methods Between 1 October and 15 November 2017, we conducted a national cross-sectional survey among pregnant women aged 15-49 years old attending antenatal care at 1,595 public facilities. Blood specimens were collected from pregnant women and tested for HIV in a centralised laboratory. Plasma viral load and Limiting Antigen Avidity Enzyme Immunosorbent Assay (LAg) tests were further performed on HIV positive specimens to differentiate between recent and long-term infections. Recent infection was defined as infection that occurred within one year from the date of collection of blood specimen for the survey. Data on age, age of partner, and marital status were collected through interviews. Women whose specimens were classified as recent by LAg assay and with viral loads \u3e1,000 copies/mL were considered as recently infected. The calculated proportion of HIV positive women with recent infection was adjusted for assay-specific parameters to estimate annual incidence. Survey multinomial logistic regression was used to examine factors associated with being recently infected using HIV negative women as a reference group. Age-disparate relationship was defined as having a partner 5 or more years older. Results Of 10,049 HIV positive participants with LAg and viral load data, 1.4% (136) were identified as recently infected. The annual HIV incidence was 1.5% (95% confidence interval (CI): 1.2-1.7). In multivariable analyses, being single (adjusted odds ratio, aOR: 3.4, 95% CI: 1.8-6.2) or cohabiting (aOR: 3.8, 95% CI: 1.8-7.7), compared to being married as well as being in an age-disparate relationship among young women (aOR: 3.1, 95% CI: 2.0-4.7; reference group: Young women (15-24years) whose partners were not 5 years or more older) were associated with higher odds of recent infection. Conclusions Compared to previous studies among pregnant women, the incidence estimated in this study was substantially lower. However, the UNAIDS target to reduce incidence by 75% by 2020 (which is equivalent to reducing incidence to \u3c1%) has not been met. The implementation of HIV prevention and treatment interventions should be intensified, targeting young women engaged in age-disparate relationship and unmarried women to fast track progress towards the UNAIDS target

    The prevalence of unintended pregnancy and its association with HIV status among pregnant women in South Africa, a national antenatal survey, 2019

    To describe the prevalence of unintended pregnancy and its association with HIV status among pregnant women in South Africa. A cross-sectional survey was conducted between October and mid-November 2019 among pregnant women aged 15–49 years in 1589 selected public antenatal care facilities. Pregnancy intention was assessed using two questions from the London Measure of Unplanned Pregnancy. Survey logistic regression examined factors associated with unintended pregnancy. Among 34,946 participants, 51.6% had an unintended pregnancy. On multivariable analysis, the odds of unintended pregnancy was higher among women who knew their HIV-positive status before pregnancy but initiated treatment after the first antenatal visit (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 1.5 [95% confidence interval (CI):1.2–1.8]), women who initiated treatment before pregnancy (aOR, 1.3 [95% CI:1.2–1.3]), and women with a new HIV diagnosis during pregnancy (aOR, 1.2 [95% CI:1.1–1.3]) compared to HIV-negative women. Women who were single, in a non-cohabiting or a cohabiting relationship, and young women (15–24 years) had significantly higher risk of unintended pregnancy compared to married women and women aged 30–49 years, respectively. A comprehensive approach, including regular assessment of HIV clients’ pregnancy intention, and adolescent and youth-friendly reproductive health services could help prevent unintended pregnancy

    In the recent years, various generalizations of Bessel function were introduced and its various properties were investigated by many authors. Bessel-Maitland function is one of the generalizations of Bessel function. The objective of this paper is to establish a new generalization of Bessel-Maitland function using the extension of beta function involving Appell series and Lauricella functions. Some of its properties including recurrence relation, integral representation and differentiation formula are investigated. Moreover, some properties of Riemann-Liouville fractional operator associated with the new generalization of Bessel-Maitland function are also discussed
