Exact classical spin dynamics of high spin nanoscale molecular magnetic clusters
No full textA common feature of many organic-based molecular magnets is that inter-molecular magnetic interactions are extremely weak compared to intra-molecular ones. As a result a bulk sample can be described in terms of independent individual molecular magnets made up of a cluster of a small finite number of coupled magnetic spins. Because of the large value of individual spins of several molecular magnetic compounds it turns out that such systems can be described to very high accuracy, at sufficiently high temperatures, by a classical Heisenberg spin model. Only for sufficiently low temperatures need one incorporate the quantum character of the spins. In this work we focus on the exact classical spin dynamics of small nanoscale molecular magnetic clusters of classical Heisenberg spins. The present study permits us to obtain analytical solutions for the time-dependent spin-spin autocorrelation function for certain clusters of classical Heisenberg spins coupled through exchange interaction. This study underscores the potential utility of a classical spin treatment of nanoscale magnetic clusters and provides results useful to interpret data obtained from experiments
Association Between Daily Rumination and Posttraumatic Growth During the COVID-19 Pandemic: An Experience Sampling Method
No full textObjective: The current intensive longitudinal study aimed at examining the association between daily rumination (i.e., intrusive rumination and deliberate rumination) and posttraumatic growth (PTG) associated with the pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Method: Final participants were 71 adults who were recruited from Amazon’s Mechanical Turk. Participants responded to daily questions regarding ruminations they engaged in and PTG they experienced that day for a total of 29 days. Results: As expected, there was no significant association between intrusive rumination and PTG, but a significant positive association was found between deliberate rumination and PTG. In addition, a person of color and those who reported as religious experienced higher levels of PTG. Furthermore, there was a significant between-person variability on the effect of deliberate rumination on PTG. Conclusions: The current study supports previous findings between rumination and PTG. It also raises the importance of acknowledging that the levels of one’s PTG following deliberate rumination may differ greatly from the typical individual, indicating the need to be mindful of individual experience

(SI10-067) Numerical Study of the Time Fractional Burgers’ Equation by Using Explicit and Implicit Schemes
Get PDFThe study discusses the numerical solution for a time fractional Burgers’ equation using explicit (scheme 1) and implicit scheme (scheme 2), respectively. The approximation of the differential equation is discretized using the finite difference method (FDM). A non-linear term present in the Burgers’ equation is approximated using the time-averaged values. The Von-Neumann analysis shows that the Scheme 1 is conditionally stable and Scheme 2 is unconditionally stable. The numerical solutions are compared with the exact solutions and are good in agreement. Also, the error is estimated between exact and numerical solutions

Using Taylor’s series, the given second order differential-difference equation is replaced by an asymptotically equivalent first order differential equation and solved by suitable choice of integrating factor and finite differences. If the server is free, it chooses either of the vacations, classical vacation or working vacation. During vacations, the customers may get impatient due to delays and may leave the system, but they are retained in the system with some convincing mechanisms. On vacation completion, if the system is empty, the server is turned off to facilitate better utilization of the resources. Some of the operating system characteristics are derived using the probability generating functions technique. The numerical results are graphically represented by using MATLAB software
