(R2030) Generalized Quasilinearization Method for a Initial Value Problem on Time Scales
We have investigated that the generalized quasilinearization method under some convenient conditions for nonlinear initial value problem (IVP) of dynamic equation on time scale constructed by monotone sequences of function by using comparison theorem that is the solution of linear IVP of dynamic equation on time scale which converge uniformly and monotonically to the unique solution of the original problem, and the convergence is quadratic
Synthesis And Characterization Of Silver-Coated Polyester Dendrimers With Potential Antimicorbial Properties
As bacterial cell lines continue to develop resistance to conventional antibiotic medications, the threat of untreatable bacterial infections continues to grow. The limited manufacture of new pharmaceuticals further exacerbates this severe health risk. This risk has facilitated numerous investigations to counter microbial species’ antibiotic resistance. The use of silver, a well-known natural remedy, has grown significant attraction through its use in the nanoparticle form or even as silver ions.
This thesis project involves the synthesis of branched polymers that were suitably functionalized to enable the complexation of silver ions to develop antimicrobial materials. Polyester dendrimers were synthesized utilizing divergent dendronization. The dendrimer surface was then functionalized via photo-initiated thiol-yne click chemistry to incorporate n-acetyl cysteine, which has reported silver-chelating activity. Dendrimers are constructed in an iterative or stepwise fashion and include many branching groups – known as generations or layers – emanating from a multi-functional core. This dendrimer core was comprised of 1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl) ethane. The branching groups were derived from the monomer, 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl) propionic acid, otherwise known as Bis-MPA. These core and monomer group components are biocompatible and used extensively in polymer chemistry and material science communities for biomedical applications. Because the dendrimer increases the number of surface functional groups with each dendritic growth layer, the concentration of silver-chelating ligands also increases. Thus, this study compared the overall silver chelating affinity of polyester dendrimers due to the varying number of chelating moieties on the dendrimer surface.
Silver nitrate was added to aqueous solutions of the dendrimer chelator to induce silver complexation. After 2 hours, the complex was precipitated from acetone, and the precipitate was analyzed by SEM microscopy to observe the silver loading affinity of the polymeric system.

(R2028) A Brief Note on Space Time Fractional Order Thermoelastic Response in a Layer
In this study, a one-dimensional layer of a solid is used to investigate the exact analytical solution of the heat conduction equation with space-time fractional order derivatives and to analyze its associated thermoelastic response using a quasi-static approach. The assumed thermoelastic problem was subjected to certain initial and boundary conditions at the initial and final ends of the layer. The memory effects and long-range interaction were discussed with the help of the Caputo-type fractional-order derivative and finite Riesz fractional derivative. Laplace transform and Fourier transform techniques for spatial coordinates were used to investigate the solution of the temperature distribution and stress functions. Numerical investigations are also shown graphically for non-dimensional temperature and stress for different space and time fractional derivative values, respectively. In addition, some applicable limiting cases are discussed for standard equations, such as wave equation, Laplace equation, and diffusion equation
An Analysis Of The Consequences Of Running Away Among Black And Hispanic Female Juvenile Offenders With An Emphasis On Future Orientation
Girls are prominent in the etiology of runaways due to having higher runaway rates than boys. While empirical studies of runaways have extensively focused on the causes of girls’ runaways, few studies shed light on the runaway consequences. Those studies that analyzed the consequences of a girl’s runaway have majorly stressed the delinquent outcomes. However, studies of runaway consequences have minimally paid attention to youth future orientation since future orientation is a vital factor in youth offending behavior. Furthermore, contextual background, such as runaway, influences the same future orientation. Therefore, this research explored the understudied relationship between the girl’s runaway consequences, future orientation, and offending behavior among female Black and Hispanic offenders. This quantitative research utilized a secondary dataset, Research on Pathways to Desistance [Maricopa County, AZ and Philadelphia County, PA]: Subject Measures, 2000-2010 from the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR). This research examined three research questions. The first research question measured whether runaway girls significantly differed in their future orientation, exposure to violence, procedural justice, and certainty of sanctions perceptions than non-runaway girls. The second research question attempted to understand if there are any significant differences between runaway Black and Hispanic girls in their future orientation, exposure to violence, procedural justice, and certainty of sanctions perceptions. The third research question examined the interaction between exposure to violence, procedural justice, certainty of sanctions perceptions, and future orientation’s influence on runaway girls’ offending behavior.
This research employed one-way ANOVA and Multiple Regression analysis to analyze the research questions. The research findings from one-way ANOVA identified no significant differences between runaway and non-runaway girls and Black and Hispanic girls in their future orientation, exposure to violence, procedural justice, and certainty of sanctions perceptions. The results from Multiple Regression analysis found a statistically significant influence of the interaction of exposure to violence and future orientation, and procedural justice and future orientation on runaway girls’ offending behavior.
Keywords: runaway girls, future orientation, exposure to violence, procedural justice views, certainty of sanctions perceptions, self-reported offending behavio
Early Exposure/Long-Term Gains: Encouraging Underrepresented Middle School Students to Pursue STEM Careers
Preparing middle school students in STEM for their transition to high school and ultimately for post-secondary endeavors requires early exposure to STEM subjects. This early exposure not only builds a foundation for the ever-changing skills that are needed for the workforce, but also boosts student achievement and test scores (STEM Education Works, 2021). The MUREP project focuses on increasing the number of underrepresented minority students interested in STEM fields. The purpose of this study is to examine underrepresented minority middle school students’ attitudes toward STEM and their expressed interest in STEM post-secondary subjects and careers after participation in the MUREP project. The study employed a quantitative survey research design. The sample of the study was comprised of 418 middle school 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The data of the current study were collected using the Middle and High School (6-12th) survey. The results of the study indicate over 50% of the students expressed a positive attitude and interest in the STEM subjects. Many of the students also showed interest in continuing their STEM education and pursuing post-secondary STEM careers. Fifty-eight percent (58%) of the students expressed interest in specifically identified STEM post-secondary careers and subjects
