Impulse Effect on the Food-Limited Population Model with Piecewise Constant Argument
The qualitative study of mathematical models is an important area in applied mathematics. In this paper, a version of the food-limited population model with piecewise constant argument under impulse effect is investigated. Differential equations with piecewise constant arguments are related to difference equations. First, a representation for the solutions of the food-limited population model is stated in terms of the solutions of corresponding difference equation. Then using linearized oscillation theory for difference equations, a sufficient condition for the oscillation of the solutions about positive equilibrium point is obtained. Moreover, asymptotic behavior of the non-oscillatory solutions are investigated. Later, applying the same theory, non-impulsive model is also studied. Numerical examples are given to compare the results of impulsive model with the results of nonimpulsive case. The results show that when the solutions of impulsive differential equation model are oscillatory about positive equilibrium under suitable conditions the solutions of the corresponding non-impulsive model is not oscillatory. This situation indicates to the importance of impulse effects on the asymptotic behavior of the solutions
Certain Mathieu-type Series Pertaining to Incomplete H-Functions
In the present article, we derive closed integral form expressions for a family of convergent Mathieu type a-series along with its alternating variants, whose terms contain incomplete H-functions, which are a notable generalization of familiar H-function. The results established herewith are very general in nature and provide an exquisite generalization of closed integral form expressions of aforementioned series whose terms contain H-function and Fox-Wright function, respectively. On a Multiserver Queueing System with Customers’ Impatience Until the End of Service Under Single and Multiple Vacation Policies
This paper deals with a multiserver queueing system with Bernoulli feedback and impatient customers (balking and reneging) under synchronous multiple and single vacation policies. Reneged customers may be retained in the system. Using probability generating functions (PGFs) technique, we formally obtain the steady-state solution of the proposed queueing system. Further, important performance measures and cost model are derived. Finally, numerical examples are presented
The Odd Inverse Rayleigh Family of Distributions: Simulation & Application to Real Data
A new family of inverse probability distributions named inverse Rayleigh family is introduced to generate many continuous distributions. The shapes of probability density and hazard rate functions are investigated. Some Statistical measures of the new generator including moments, quantile and generating functions, entropy measures and order statistics are derived. The Estimation of the model parameters is performed by the maximum likelihood estimation method. Furthermore, a simulation study is used to estimate the parameters of one of the members of the new family. The data application shows that the new family models can be useful to provide better fits than other lifetime models
Nonparametric M-regression with Scale Parameter For Functional Dependent Data
In this paper, we study the equivariant nonparametric robust regression estimation relationship between a functional dependent random covariable and a scalar response. We consider a new robust regression estimator when the scale parameter is unknown. The consistency result of the proposed estimator is studied, namely the uniform almost complete convergence (with rate). Thus, suitable topological considerations are needed, implying changes in the convergence rates, which are quantified by entropy considerations. The benefits of considering robust estimators are illustrated on two real data sets where the robust fit reveals the presence of influential outliers

Identification of Phytotoxic Levels of Copper and Nickel in Commercial Organic Soil Amendments Recycled from Poultry Farms and Municipal Wastes
Commercial-scale recycling of agricultural and municipal wastes into organic soil amendments facilitates safe disposal of waste and reduces environmental contamination. However, phytotoxicity of commercial organic amendments to crops is a major concern to farmers. Consistent with this, commercial chicken manure and Milorganite (recycled from municipal waste) were found to be phytotoxic. Chicken manure aqueous extract contains 10.8 ppm Cu and 0.7 ppm Ni. The level of Cu and Ni in Milorganite is lower. The current study identified an aqueous solution containing 5 ppm Cu, lower than in chicken manure aqueous extract, was highly phytotoxic to mustard seeds germination. Therefore, phytotoxicity of chicken manure is in part due to Cu. An aqueous solution containing 1 ppm Ni was not phytotoxic; whereas 0.125 ppm Ni was phytotoxic when 62.5 ppm Na, which is nontoxic, was added to the solution. Therefore, synergistic effects of chemicals in the organic amendments may induce phytotoxicity
