Diachronie berbère : pistes pour une ethnohistoire des sociétés berbérophones contemporaines
International audienceThe book, Diachronie berbère, by S. Chaker, concludes the career of a linguist working within a multidisciplinary field: it is therefore a rich source of information for the field of Berber studies, including for non-linguists. Based on work on various subjects combining history and ethnology, I show how his reflections resonate with my own questions. These questions concern both an approach to sources, which remains problematic, and the myths that need to be deconstructed in order to develop a more complex analysis of Berber-speaking societies, articulating endogenous dynamics and interactions with other populations and societies
Cosmology with supernova Encore in the strong lensing cluster MACS J0138-2155: Lens model comparison and H0 measurement
International audienceMACS J0138-2155 is the only known cluster to strongly lens two supernovae (SNe), Requiem and Encore, from the same host galaxy at z=1.949. We present seven independent mass models of the galaxy cluster built using six software packages. By conducting a blind analysis (no exchanges of results between modeling teams), we quantified uncertainties due to modeling and software. Through HST, JWST and MUSE observations, we assembled high-quality data products, including eight "gold" lensed image systems consisting of 23 images with secure spectroscopic redshifts, and one "silver" system with a likely redshift value. Restricting to the gold images, we obtain overall consistent model predictions of the positions, magnifications and time delays of SN Encore and SN Requiem images, especially for models with . We predict the appearance of the next images of SNe Encore and Requiem with a time delay of >~3000 days and of ~3700 to 4000 days, respectively, based on a fiducial cosmological model of and . We obtain relations between and the time delays of SNe Encore and Requiem. In particular, for , the four lowest models predict SN Requiem to reappear in ~Apr-Dec 2026; for , in ~Mar-Nov 2027. Using the newly measured time delay between the two detected images of SN Encore by Pierel et al. (submitted) and our mass models, we jointly infer , where the uncertainty is dominated by that of the time delay. The long delays of the next-appearing SN Requiem and SN Encore images provide excellent opportunities to measure with an uncertainty of 2-3%. Synthesis of the Titanium Oxides Using a New Microwave Discharge Method
International audienceThis research highlights the different behaviors of titanium (Ti) wires under the action of 500 W and 800 W microwave power levels. Following the interaction between microwaves and a titanium wire placed in the node of the (TM 011 -transverse magnetic mode) waveguide in air at atmospheric pressure, plasma was generated. Using optical emission spectroscopy technique it was observed that during plasma generation at 500 W and 800 W microwaves powers, metallic ions, and gas ions were created, and the plasmas fulfilled the local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) conditions. The XRD analysis showed that on the surface of the Ti wire exposed to 500 W microwave power a mixture of titanium dioxide (TiO2 ) and titanium oxide (TiO) grew, while the Ti wire exposed to 800 W microwave power was completely vaporized and a mixture of TiO2 and TiO nanoparticles was synthesized. The SEM analysis showed that the dimensions of the titanium oxide (TiOx) nanoparticles generated by both microwave discharges ranged from 5 nm to 200 nm. The results of EDS analysis showed that the power of microwaves plays an important role in quantitative conversion from Ti wire into a TiOx mixture. The TEM analysis indicates that most of the nanoparticles are either amorphous or nanocrystalline. Using this simple and inexpensive technique one can grow a TiOx layer on the surface of titanium electrodes or can synthetize nanocrystalline TiOx particles
Euclid Quick Data Release (Q1). Extending the quest for little red dots to z<4
International audienceRecent James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) observations have revealed a population of sources with a compact morphology and a `v-shaped' continuum, namely blue at rest-frame A and red at longer wavelengths. The nature of these sources, called `little red dots' (LRDs), is still debated, since it is unclear if they host active galactic nuclei (AGN) and their number seems to drastically drop at z<4. We utilise the 63 covered by the quick Euclid Quick Data Release (Q1) to extend the search for LRDs to brighter magnitudes and to lower z than what has been possible with JWST to have a broader view of the evolution of this peculiar galaxy population. The selection is done by fitting the available photometric data (Euclid, Spitzer/IRAC, and ground-based griz data) with two power laws, to retrieve the rest-frame optical and UV slopes consistently over a large redshift range (i.e, z<7.6). We exclude extended objects and possible line emitters, and perform a visual inspection to remove imaging artefacts. The final selection includes 3341 LRD candidates from z=0.33 to z=3.6, with 29 detected in IRAC. Their rest-frame UV luminosity function, in contrast with previous JWST studies, shows that the number density of LRD candidates increases from high-z down to z=1.5-2.5 and decreases at even lower z. Less evolution is apparent focusing on the subsample of more robust LRD candidates having IRAC detections, which is affected by low statistics and limited by the IRAC resolution. The comparison with previous quasar UV luminosity functions shows that LRDs are not the dominant AGN population at z<4. Follow-up studies of these LRD candidates are key to confirm their nature, probe their physical properties and check for their compatibility with JWST sources, since the different spatial resolution and wavelength coverage of Euclid and JWST could select different samples of compact sources

A tris(pyrazolyl)-based model for the aminocyclopropane carboxylic acid oxidase and its behavior towards oxidants
International audienceA low-molecular-weight analog of the 1-aminocyclopropane carboxylic acid oxidase (ACCO), [Tp Mes FeACC], 1, where the (His₂Asp)iron(II) moiety is mimicked by a hydrotris(3-mesitylpyrazol-1-yl)borato iron(II) unit, to which the natural substrate aminocyclopropane carboxylate is coordinated, has been accessed and structurally characterized. It was found to react slowly with O 2 to yield the biological product ethylene. To create models of the intermediates proposed as part of the catalytic cycle of the ACCO 1 was treated with tBuOOH and mCPBA at low temperatures, which generated the respective Fe III OOtBu and Fe IV =O intermediates as shown by spectroscopic analysis. Les enjeux de la règlementation en cybersécurité dans les établissements de santé
L’évolution et la transformation du numérique dans le secteur de la santé expose les établissements et les professionnels à de nouveaux risques accrus, en particulier sur le plan de la cybersécurité. Avec la multiplication des données sensibles collectées comme les dossiers médicaux, les informations administratives ou encore les résultats d’examens, les systèmes d’information deviennent des cibles de choix pour les cyberattaques, en forte hausse ces dernières années. Face à ce contexte, les autorités ont renforcé le cadre réglementaire pour élever le niveau de maturité en cybersécurité des structures de santé, tout en les accompagnant dans la mise en œuvre concrète de ces exigences. Les enjeux sont multiples : protéger efficacement les données des patients, prévenir les interruptions de soins liées aux incidents informatiques, et maintenir la confiance entre les établissements et leurs usagers. Pour cela, il est essentiel d’accompagner les professionnels dans l’appropriation des obligations légales et des bonnes pratiques. Cela passe notamment par la formation, la sensibilisation, mais aussi par une gouvernance claire et une meilleure maîtrise des outils numériques. La cybersécurité ne peut plus être perçue comme une contrainte technique car elle est désormais un pilier fondamental de la qualité et de la continuité des soins. Les établissements de santé doivent ainsi concilier innovation, protection des données et conformité réglementaire dans un environnement numérique en constante évolution
