    No full text
This study aims to analyse the responses (feedback) given by netizens to four social media accounts of regional heads in South Sulawesi. Qualitative research with a descriptive approach was conducted with a focus on the scope of managing responses (feedback) from the public on the Instagram social media accounts of Makassar Mayor Ramdhan Danny Pomanto, Parepare of Mayor Taufan Pawe, Gowa of Regent Adnan Purichta Ichsan, and North Luwu of Regent Indah Putri Indriani for the period June – September 2023. Data were analysed using the NVivo 12 Plus application tool. The results showed that the management of feedback on the Instagram accounts of the four regional heads was not optimal because there was no SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) format given by each regional head to the account manager, although some feedback was answered via direct messege as well as with a pattern through the scope of related agencies to find solutions. The form of feedback used by followers on the regional heads' Instagram accounts consists of positive, negative, and neutral feedback

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital preaching (dakwah) using TikTok in enhancing religious practices among Muslim communities in Tanjung Mulia Medan Deli. A descriptive-correlational quantitative approach was employed, with data collected from 350 purposively sampled participants through structured questionnaires. Statistical analysis using Spearman’s correlation and linear regression revealed a significant positive relationship between digital dakwah access intensity and religious practice levels (? = 0.482; p < 0.001), contributing 23.2% of the variance (R² = 0.232). Key supporting factors included visual content quality (62.3%), stable internet infrastructure (78%), and collaborations between preachers and local influencers (34%), while major barriers were advertisement distractions (57.1%) and non-contextual material (28.6%). A unique "saturation effect" was identified, where excessive access (>3 hours/day) reduced religious practice scores. The study concludes that digital dakwah is partially effective, with optimal impact achieved through locally tailored content, robust infrastructure, and complementary community-based mentoring. These findings highlight the necessity of hybrid strategies integrating digital and conventional approaches to strengthen the internalization of religious values

This study aims to examine the influence of persuasive leadership communication on improving student achievement in higher education. Based on the hypothesis regarding the effect of persuasive leadership communication on student achievement, the F-test results indicate that the regression model is statistically significant simultaneously, with an F value of 49.901 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Partially, the t-test results show that openness (t = 2.516; p = 0.013), support (t = 2.908; p = 0.004), positive attitude (t = 3.926; p = 0.000), and equality (t = 2.254; p = 0.026) have a significant influence on student achievement. In contrast, empathy does not have a statistically significant effect (t = 1.690; p = 0.093). The most dominant dimension is a positive attitude, with the highest beta coefficient (? = 0.259).This research employed a quantitative method involving 150 students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu, using a Likert-scale-based questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression via SPSS. The findings highlight the importance of leadership communication strategies that are open, supportive, positive, and egalitarian in building an academic environment that fosters and motivates student achievement. This study contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of leadership communication in higher education institutions

Adaptasi Komunikasi Mahasiswa Perantau: Studi Pada Ippm Semaku Di Universitas Negeri Padang

This study analyzes the communication adaptation of Semaku migrant students (Seluma, Manna, and Kaur) at Padang State University using Young Yun Kim's Intercultural Communication Adaptation Theory. Using qualitative methods, informants were a group of 15 Semaku IPPM students consisting of 10 migrant students and 5 local students. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that adaptation occurs through a stress-adaptation-growth cycle in three dimensions. 1. Personal communication: Minangkabau linguistic barriers are the main adaptation challenges overcome through code-switching and code-mixing strategies. 2. Social communication: Semaku IPPM functions as a psychological buffer and cultural bridge that facilitates the formation of hybrid identities, but has the potential to trigger ethnic enclosure. 3. Mass communication: digital media becomes an arena for identity negotiation through bilingual captions that expand intercultural interactions. Psychological transformation takes place from social anxiety to resilience until students are able to act as cultural mediators. This study validates Kim's theory in the Indonesian context and recommends inclusive orientation programs, balancing regional organizational support with cross-regional participation, and optimizing digital platforms to support communication adaptation of migrant students

    No full text
This research explores how Generation Z students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu adapt to the challenge of recognizing hoaxes on Instagram within the framework of digital media literacy. The main objective is to identify the strategies they use to verify information, the barriers they face, and how the four pillars of media literacy access, analysis, evaluation, and creation are reflected in their digital practices. The study applies a qualitative design, employing in depth interviews, non-participant observation, and analysis of personal documents. Two students were deliberately chosen through purposive sampling because of their engagement in academic organizations and digital literacy communities. Data were processed using thematic analysis to interpret their approaches to information verification and online interaction. The results indicate that participants actively perform cross checking across multiple platforms, seek validation from trusted communities or public figures, and examine visual elements before confirming content. Despite these strategies, they continue to face difficulties such as reliance on cognitive shortcuts, exposure to algorithm-driven content, and the rise of advanced digital manipulation like deepfakes. The findings confirm that, although Generation Z demonstrates strong technological proficiency, their capacity for critical evaluation remains insufficient

    No full text
This study analyzes the response of beneficiaries to DPRD oversight communication in the implementation of Lubuk Linggau Mayor Regulation Number 44 of 2021 regarding Guidelines for Providing Social Assistance for Condolence and Funeral Money. The research objective is to measure the beneficiaries' perspective on legislative oversight effectiveness using (William N Dunn 2003) five-dimensional framework: effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, and responsiveness. The research method uses a descriptive quantitative approach with 49 valid respondents from DPRD oversight activities. Instruments include structured questionnaires with 3-point Likert scale, participatory observation, and Focus Group Discussions. Results show overall mean score of 2.255 in "Adequately Implemented" category but with significant polarization where 43.5% of respondents rated "Poorly Implemented". The effectiveness dimension scored worst (2.357), followed by adequacy (2.347), while responsiveness showed best performance (2.122). Hypothesis testing shows main hypothesis rejected, indicating fundamental policy communication failure and need to strengthen DPRD oversight

Menakar Etika Komunikasi Digital di Tengah Maraknya Disinformasi E-Commerce

    No full text
The development of e-commerce in Indonesia has changed the communication pattern of digital marketing, but on the other hand poses a serious challenge in the form of increasing disinformation that threatens communication ethics and consumer trust. This study aims to analyze how digital communication practices in e-commerce violate the principles of communication ethics and its impact on consumer trust, focusing on the phenomenon of fake reviews, hidden endorsements, and excessive product claims. The method used was descriptive qualitative by collecting data through in-depth interviews with business actors, influencers, and active consumers, as well as digital observation of promotional content on Tokopedia, Shopee, and TikTok Shop. Data analysis uses the Miles & Huberman model with triangulation validation of theories, sources, and methods. The results show that e-commerce disinformation reflects a crisis of digital communication ethics, where economic persuasion takes precedence over honesty and transparency. Based on the theory of the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), consumers are more easily influenced by peripheral paths such as high ratings and influencer imagery without critical evaluation. This condition lowers public trust and strengthens the need for the implementation of digital communication ethics, increasing people's digital literacy, and strict regulation of misleading communication practices

    No full text
This study examines the effectiveness of public communication in monitoring the implementation of the Mayor of Lubuk Linggau Regulation No. 1 of 2019 concerning Night Parties through an evaluation of public perceptions as the target group of the policy. The regulation aims to govern the organization of night parties in order to maintain public order, security, and community comfort. Employing a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 94 respondents, the study evaluates five dimensions of policy implementation based on Dunn’s (2003) framework: effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, and responsiveness. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a Likert scale and analyzed through descriptive statistics, comparative tests, and a composite index. The results indicate a Public Perception Index (PPI) score of 64.51, suggesting a fairly good perception of policy implementation. The adequacy dimension received the highest score (2.106), while efficiency had the lowest (1.611). An ANOVA test revealed significant differences among the dimensions (F = 14.397, p < 0.001). These findings suggest that while the public perceives the substance of the regulation as adequate, the efficiency of its implementation still requires improvement. The study recommends enhancing licensing mechanisms, strengthening coordination among stakeholders, improving policy socialization, and optimizing monitoring systems to increase the effectiveness of public communication and the overall implementation of the night party policy in Lubuk Linggau City

The implementation of the rule of law principle within Indonesia's decentralization policy is a strategic step toward establishing a more transparent, accountable, and responsive government to local needs. However, this principle faces various challenges, such as regulatory interpretation differences between the central and regional governments, limited legal capacity at the local level, and pervasive corruption practices. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of applying the rule of law principle in decentralization policies, identify existing obstacles, and propose policy recommendations for improvement. A descriptive-analytical approach was employed, gathering data through literature reviews, legal document analysis, and interviews with experts in law and local governance. The results indicate that while there has been progress in implementing the rule of law in regional governance, several obstacles still hinder its effectiveness, including limited legal capacity at the local level and weak oversight mechanisms. Policy recommendations include enhancing legal training at the regional level, regulatory harmonization between central and local governments, and strengthening oversight mechanisms. With these recommendations in place, it is expected that the rule of law will more effectively support decentralization policies and strengthen local governance in Indonesia
