Get PDFTeaching, learning and assessment at CCT College Dublin takes place in the national and international context of Higher education. We recognise the importance of a carefully considered teaching, learning and assessment strategy spanning the diverse needs of the institution, its programmes and stakeholders. This is the Teaching, Learning and Assessment Strategy 2015 to 2020 and supports and enhances teaching, learning and assessment across the institution and through all programmes. It reflects the current practices within the environment while recognising the on-going positive developments within the sector and beyond, allowing for continuous audit, enhancement and improvement. While smaller documents and policies have been developed relating to teaching and learning, this is the first major teaching, learning and assessment strategy production for CCT College Dublin
CCT Strategic Plan 2018 - 2020, Institution Strategy
Get PDFThis strategic plan has been formulated and introduced at a time of general global economic recovery from the acute downturn spanning the period 2008 - 2013. However, the effects of the downturn are still widely felt in parts of the world and across Ireland. The current Irish government (2017) is currently reviewing a new approach to funding of higher education in Ireland. Exchequer funding for state institutions reduced in the main in late noughties, although creative state initiatives such as Springboard are still available for accessible higher education and training. For the first time in Irish history, students of established and state accredited independent colleges of higher education are being considered by government for state grant-aid to attend state validated programmes, with potential funding on fees also. Society expects opportunities within education and training, and the private sector of education in Ireland, has a role to play in this respect. Having navigated successfully through the very challenging downturn period, remaining profitable each year, and reinvesting all annual profits to maintain a steady organic and continuous strategic development, CCT is still a young College within an early growth stage. However, we recognise that the next three years of the College\u27s development is a critical one in extending our scope of provision into delivery of postgraduate Masters level provision, professional education, and education through linked provision, and growing overall student numbers by 50%. As an independent College, we recognise that we have to continue to be creative and opportunistic in education provision and income generation, with the student, and quality at the core of everything we do

The lecturers really guide you through and the class sizes allow you to engage more with the course. It’s always nice in this industry to have a different way of thinking. No full textThis paper explores how a private company managing financial assets, evolved from a low-performing into a high-performing organisation through the implementation of a knowledge-based strategy. The issue both guiding and challenging this process was that this firm strove to break free from its original \u27administrative\u27 type of modus operandi to become an innovative and fast-paced organisation. Relying on a theoretical framework drawing on knowledge-intensity in organisations, as well as intellectual capital and knowledge management fields, this qualitative study identified 17 themes qualifying the firm\u27s knowledge-based strategy. Through effectively managing its knowledge assets, the organisation achieved a knowledge-based competitive and sustainable advantage. Considered against the backdrop of the theoretical framework, the complementarity of the three theoretical lenses is emphasised

In the beginning, I was scared to go to College in Ireland because I had learned English here and I thought it would be too tough to study Business. But when I joined CCT I was put at ease and got more confidence in myself. The quality of education is really good and the lecturers were always so helpful. I really love the multicultural dimension to CCT College also, I have friends that study in other Colleges and they always say ‘I miss other people from other countries and other cultures.’ I haven’t missed that at all in CCT.
