No full textDespite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, a study conducted by STR and AirDNA found that house rentals outperformed hotels; among the most renowned platforms is Airbnb, which has become a symbol of the sharing economy and has changed the way people travel. This project focuses on Dublin short term rental market opportunities, by developing pricing and rate occupancy prediction models based on machine learning approaches to identify patterns that may impact or aid users in making smarter and cost-effective decisions. The concept of this research is to show the financial feasibility of data services, as well as how data science can improve business and operational efficiency

A Partnership Approach to Library Services at CCT College Dublin
Get PDFCCT College Dublin is a private higher education institution based in Dublin’s city centre. Since its foundation in 2005, the College has incorporated a strong commitment to library services in successive strategic plans to support a dynamic teaching and learning experience and the highest standards of scholarship and academic integrity institution wide. Library services are delivered in partnership with a range of departments across the College and are integrated into all stages of the student journey. The College Librarian is an associate of the CCT Centre for Teaching and Learning and a member of CCT’s Quality Enhancement and Academic Integrity Committees. Key catalysts of library development have been new programme development, the professionalisation of library staff, digital transformation, student partnership and sectoral engagement with the Library Association of Ireland and the International Federation of Library Associations. More recently the publication of an institutional research strategy has seen the development of research support platforms and services including the launch of an institutional repository using Digital Commons software. CCT College is active in a range of national and international library publishing groups. In 2022, CCT hosted a satellite event for the World Library Congress and spoke in the session organised by IFLA’s Library Publishing Special Interest Group. Pag
Student-Centred Enhancements to Programme Delivery at CCT College Dublin
Get PDFIn February 2020, CCT College Dublin convened the Monitoring and Review Team (MRT), to identify risk and mitigating actions required to ensure the continuity of programme delivery and supports to learners during the COVID-19 Pandemic in the event of potential campus closure. The team investigated good practice in online teaching, learning and assessment, regulatory frameworks and practices, technology supports, and human resources required to proactively support any potential shift to online delivery and supports. A peer consultation was also conducted with online teaching and learning experts across the sector (CCT College Dublin, 2020). Maintenance of academic standards and integrity were central to the project. The CCT Academic Council was responsible for the review and approval of contingency arrangements in respect of teaching, learning and assessment. Case Study: Implementing a Virtual Induction Programme for Students
Get PDFPrior to the pivot to emergency online teaching and learning, CCT staff and students gave the digital environment at CCT (hardware, software and digital teaching and learning) a high rating of 88.6% and 79.6% respectively in the Irish National Digital Experience INDEx survey. This robust digital environment provided a strong basis to underpin the migration of traditionally face-to-face student support services to an online environment. This was implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic but will be continued both as a supplement to face-to-face induction, and as a permanent feature for recently validated blended programmes. This case study outlines the development and delivery of a virtual induction programme at CCT College that commenced in September of 2020
