A Review of Anchor or Streamer Characteristics and Impulse Purchase Decisions in Livestreaming Commerce

This article reviews existing literature on the role of anchor or streamer characteristics in influencing impulse purchase decisions in livestreaming commerce. With the rapid expansion of e-commerce, impulse purchases have grown significantly, particularly through livestreaming platforms. Research shows that anchor or streamer characteristics—especially attractiveness and professionalism—play a major role in shaping consumer behavior. Attractiveness influences customers’ trust, enjoyment, and emotional connections, while professionalism enhances trust, satisfaction, and purchase intentions. Given these benefits, livestreaming marketers should recruit anchors who are both attractive and professional. However, relying solely on physical attractiveness may reduce the importance of other qualities, such as knowledge and interactive engagement. Therefore, attractiveness should be complemented with factors like product type, trustworthiness, and expertise. Professionalism requires anchors or streamers to deepen their knowledge of product qualities, including selling points and usage methods, to appear competent and credible. Sharing personal or professional experiences, opinions, and stories during livestreams, while addressing audience questions, further enriches consumer engagement. To balance professionalism and attractiveness, attention should also be given to social presence, which significantly drives impulse purchase decisions. The article concludes that while attractiveness and professionalism are key drivers of impulse purchases, their impact may differ across cultural and regional contexts. Thus, livestreaming marketers must carefully integrate both attributes, ensuring anchors or streamers build trust, credibility, and emotional connection while promoting products effectively

In recent years, environmental crises have been perceived by businesses as significant threats to their operations and long-term sustainability, forcing many businesses to adapt and incorporate environmentally friendly approaches. Due to the increasing importance of environmental issues and demand for environmentally friendly methods, green innovation has emerged as a pivotal strategy for companies to achieve sustainable growth and boost their business’s sustainability efforts. The term ‘green supply chain management’ or ‘supply chain environmental management’ has only recently gained recognition from numerous companies; thus, only a few studies have been done on the relationship between greening the supply chain, green innovation, competitive advantage, operational, and environmental performance. The paper aims to bridge the significant gap by providing empirical evidence, which will allow the industrial implementation of green supply chains and green innovation to gain a competitive advantage in the global market. Through the findings, it will then improve operational and environmental efficiency. The information was gathered from 240 Malaysian companies in the automotive industry sector through a questionnaire survey.  Structural equation modelling was utilized to analyze the data, and through the results, it is evident that greening the supplier through green innovation has a major impact on environmental performance. The results will contribute to facilitating automotive industry professionals in building a systematic blueprint to control and maximize the implemented green innovation practices towards increasing the overall productivity

Customer Satisfaction and Customer Loyalty in the Banking Sector in Mbarara City: A Case of Stanbic Bank

Customer loyalty is a crucial aspect for organizations, especially in the banking sector, due to its significant financial benefits. Banks, being high-involvement service providers, maintain long-term relationships with customers, making customer satisfaction vital. While customer loyalty is a well-explored topic globally, limited research has been conducted in developing countries, particularly Uganda. This study aims to assess the influence of customer satisfaction on customer loyalty in the banking industry in Mbarara City, Uganda, with Stanbic Bank's Mbarara Branch as a case study. The study's objectives include evaluating customer satisfaction and loyalty levels and determining their correlation. The methodology involved a descriptive cross-sectional survey of 50 respondents, including management, employees, and customers, using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data analysis was performed using SPSS to test the correlation between satisfaction and loyalty. Findings indicated a positive relationship between service quality, trust, and long-term relationships with customer satisfaction. Similarly, trust and repeat purchases were linked to customer loyalty. Recommendations suggest banks should enhance customer follow-ups, innovate banking services, and host customer feedback events. Further studies could explore factors hindering customer satisfaction, the role of technology, and the impact of savings and credit societies on loyalty to commercial banks

Monetary Policy Tools and Lending Rates in Uganda: A Quantitative Analysis

This study examines the impact of key monetary policy instruments on Uganda's lending rates over the period from 1994-2024. Specifically, it examines the impact of the Central Bank Rate (CBR), Open Market Operations (OMO), Standing Lending Facilities (SLF), and the Cash Reserve Requirement (CRR) on commercial lending rates. With the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) methodology, the study accommodates variables of mixed orders of integration and accounts for both short-run dynamics and long-run relationships. After overcoming multicollinearity problems, which resulted in CRR (being utilized as a proxy for demand deposits) being eliminated from the study, the study determines that CBR and the rediscount rate (being utilized as a proxy for SLF) have positive influences on lending rates in both the long run and short run. On the other hand, base money (proxy for OMO) is not statistically significant, and this reflects structural inefficiencies in the channel of passing through liquidity. Since diagnostic tests confirm the model under stability, normality of residuals, homoscedasticity, and no serial correlation, these findings confirm interest rate-based instruments in Uganda's monetary policy arsenal and simultaneously highlight indirect instrument weaknesses, such as OMO. These policy recommendations drawing from the research focus on reinforcing CBR signaling transparency, upgrading SLF mechanisms, and further deepening financial markets to improve policy transmission. This should be accompanied by further research into the wider macroeconomic effects of these instruments as well as further policy levers in Uganda's monetary framework

In understanding students’ learning and student academic achievement, some factors need to be given attention. The primary objective of this research is to investigate a distinct type of quotient that affects students’ learning. Previous research has revealed that Intellectual Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ), Social Quotient (SQ), and Adversity Quotient (AQ) are among the most significant variables influencing student academic success. This research employed a quantitative method, and university students were the target sample. In this study, a total of 211 responses from 326 samples were successfully collected via a survey questionnaire.  A Pearson's Correlation was used to measure the relationships between the independent and dependent variables. The analysis revealed that the four quotients were found to have a significant relationship with students’ learning; however, the degree of significance varies. The most significant finding from this research was that the adversity quotient exhibits the strongest relationship with students’ academic success.  This study is important to academicians because understanding students' traits can assist lecturers in enhancing and strengthening their teaching and learning methodologies, and improving the content of lectures for students, thereby producing successful students academicall

    No full text
To examine the effectiveness of gamification techniques in improving student engagement using the Gamification Acceptance Model (GAM) and to address the lack of awareness and uncertainty among educators regarding students’ acceptance of online gamification. A probability sampling method with proportionate stratified sampling is used to select participants. A quantitative approach is adopted, using a survey to collect data, which will be analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (Partial Least Squares). The study is expected to provide insights into students’ attitudes toward online gamification and demonstrate that gamification can be an effective tool for enhancing learning through play. Specifically, Gamification Perceived Usefulness (GPU), influenced by Gamification Ease of Use (GEOU), is anticipated to be significant in shaping students’ acceptance of gamified learning. The findings could serve as a metric for evaluating students’ acceptance of gamification and guide educators in creating effective game-based learning strategies. However, the study is limited to students from a single course and campus, which may limit the generalizability of the results. This study contributes to the growing body of research on gamification in higher education by applying the Gamification Acceptance Model (GAM) as a robust framework. It highlights the potential of online gamification to enhance student engagement and provides practical insights for educators to design more engaging and personalized learning environments
