THE VICTIM OF TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS IN TUNISIAN LAW WITH AN OVERVIEW OF THE QATARI LAW
It seems that trafficking in persons is a universal phenomenon, which spare no State. Tunisia is affected by this degrading crime as a country of origin, destination and transit. It is doing significant efforts in order to combat this appalling offense that reduces its victim to goods sold and bought for a miserable price. This study focuses on the efficiency of the victim’s protection which is a certain one, since it immunes the trafficked person from prosecution and provides her/him with different assistances, but it remains limited, as long as the trafficking actors can’t afford its implementation and the State doesn’t care about the vulnerability factors
THE EFFECT OF FREQUENTLY WEARING FACE MASKS DURING THE COVID- 19 PANDEMIC ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACNE IN ADULTS: A CROSSSECTIONAL DESCRIPTIVE STUDY
The aim was to highlight the dermatological side effect “acne” of repetitive usage of face masks on the skin of adults living in Lebanon through a cross sectional descriptive study involving self-administered questionnaire. Following ethical and administration approval, the questionnaire in English language was generated on a link through Google forms. The link was disseminated through social media; Facebook, Instagram and to the WhatsApp groups of the research group who are nursing BS students at the Faculty of Health Sciences. A total of 305 completed the questionnaire. Data analysis was done via SPSS. The mean age of the study participants was 22.62 years (SD=6.29). The majority (n=218, 71.5%) were female and a large number (n=203, 66.6%) were students living in Beirut (n=172, 56.4%). Skin characteristics were changed significantly after wearing a mask for a long period of time. Maskne developed after routinely wearing a mask for at least five hours daily. Other factors that increased the risk of developing Maskne included female gender, gastrointestinal problems, using hydrating facial products, having an oily or sensitive skin, oral contraceptives use, stress, history of acne, and hot weather. The majority graded their acne as mild and experienced redness and oiliness underneath their masks. The study identified the association between wearing facemasks and acne development during the covid-19 pandemic. Wearing a mask during this pandemic is definitely necessary but expected skin changes can be avoided and skin health can be preserved with the appropriate measures. Additional studies are needed to better understand how to manage mask-related acne development and inform clinical decision-making

DIFFERENT IRRIGANT ACTIVATION TECHNIQUES IN REMOVING DENTIN DEBRIS: AN IN-VITRO STUDY
During endodontic treatment, the efficiency of irrigation depends on two criteria: the antimicrobial and dissolving properties of the irrigation solution and the delivery system used that dictates the flushing action of the irrigant and consequently enable it to reach complex areas. The purpose of this in-vitro study was to compare the cleaning efficiency of EDDY sonic activation with needle irrigation and passive ultrasonic activation regarding elimination of dentin debris. Forty single rooted extracted teeth were instrumented and then were split in bucco-lingual direction. A longitudinal groove was performed in the inner surface of one root half of each tooth. Grooves were filled with dentine debris mixed with 5.25 % NaOCl in order to simulate an uninstrumented canal extension. Root halves were reassembled and were randomly divided into three groups: G1 needle irrigation, G2 passive ultrasonic activation (Acteon Satelec, Merignac, France) and G3 sonic activation using EDDY system (VDW, Munich, Germany). Ten roots served as control. After irrigation protocols, root halves were disassembled and digital images of grooves were taken using a stereomicroscope (Olympus, Japan). Evaluation of the amount of the remaining dentin debris was performed using a scoring system. No statistically significant difference existed between negative control and passive ultrasonic activation and EDDY activation respectively. Both activation techniques performed equally in removing dentine debris and significantly better than needle irrigation. No significant difference was found between needle irrigation and positive control
SYSTEMATIC SCOPING LITERATURE REVIEW TO STUDY THE IMPACT OF LEABNESE FINANCIAL CRISIS 2019-2020 ON THE BANKING SECTOR
Over the last thirty years, blunders have been committed in the Lebanese financial sector. Besides, mistakes made with good faith, and the financial and economic crisis of years 2019 and 2020, on the other hand, has resulted in much greater deficiencies of trust and rises in the emotional distance between Lebanese people and their banks than the previous crisis. One collateral effect of the crisis and the, at times, scorching antagonisms that have afflicted banks and their customers has been an unfathomable reluctance on the part of banks to interact with their consumers. Therefore, this research spots the light on “Financial crisis of 2019-2020” alongside with the impact of this crisis with prominence on the Lebanese banking sector. Thus, in this research, researcher present systematic scoping literature review that discuss in depth fundamental studies published about financial crisis and Lebanese banking sector performance, in addition to gathering data from secondary data sources to present credible and accredited data that was introduced by Lebanese banks, BDL and MOF until year 2020. Research limitations and future recommendations are provided at the end of this paper
FACTORS INFLUENCING STUDENT’S INTENTION TO USE E-LEARNING SERVICES: AN APPLIED STUDY ON LEBANESE PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES
The study’s purpose is to investigate the impact of selected factors (Computer self-efficacy (CSE), subjective norms (SN), perceived enjoyment (PE), perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), attitude) on university students’ intention to use e-learning. The objective of this paper is to advance a conceptual framework to better understand the factors that could affect the intention of students to use e-learning in Lebanese universities. The collection of the data was from 444 private universities students in Lebanon. The SEM analysis had been used to assess the influence of these components to intend e-learning system. All proposed relationships are accepted in the framework expected the relationships between Computer self-efficacy (CSE) and subjective norms (SN) on perceived usefulness are rejected. In addition, relationships between subjective norms and perceived enjoyment on perceived ease of use (PEOU) are rejected. Finally, results are discussed then conclusions and future research are presented

KNOWLEDGE RISKS AND SUSTAINABILITY: AN EMPIRICAL STUDY ON LEBANESE KNOWLEDGE-INTENSIVE FIRMS
Today’s business environment is characterized by a growing number of knowledge risks. There has been a paucity of empirical research on the impact of knowledge risks on business sustainability. This paper looks at the direct and indirect consequences of knowledge risks on a firm\u27s sustainability. A questionnaire was administered with a sample of 427 respondents from Lebanese knowledge-intensive firms. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the research framework. The findings indicate that knowledge risks and knowledge loss have a direct and significant detrimental impact on business sustainability. The performance of organizations has a direct and significant positive impact on sustainability. The mediating effect of organizational performance in the relationship between knowledge risks and sustainability of the business was demonstrated. However, the link between human knowledge risks and both organizational performance and sustainability was not significant. Outcomes of the study will persuade knowledge-intensive firms’ managers to deploy knowledge management approaches and reduce potential knowledge risks
PARTIAL SYSTEMS\u27 ANALYSIS OF TRAFFIC NOISE REDUCTION IN TARIK AL JADIDAH, BEIRUT
Traffic noise is considered one of the main pollutants in an urban space and has multiple side effects regarding the physical and mental health of the human being. Tarik Al Jadidah, one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Beirut City- Lebanon, is selected as urban area for a project-based initiative and the focal point of different studies in BAU Urban Lab. The area suffers from various urban problems, but prominently traffic noise that highly damages the urban residents\u27 quality of life due to its high levels of traffic noise that surpasses the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.
BAU Urban Lab, an interdisciplinary platform for innovation and knowledge exchange that integrates education with research has led a workshop entitled “System Modelling for Urban Health and Well-Being” held at BAU, Faculty of Architecture - Design and Built Environment. The paper proposes that Vester Sensitivity Model can be considered as a supportive decision-making tool responsible for finding the most effective variables related to Traffic Noise Reduction. The main aim of this paper is to identify the key variables affecting traffic noise reduction system through detecting the variables’ reciprocal impacts using Vester Sensitivity Model. It also depicted that the most influencing variables are those related to social, institutional, infrastructure, and resource flows of the city rather than its fixed physical infrastructure
THE EFFECT OF SALVIA FRUTICOSA WATER EXTRACT IN ACETIC-ACID-INDUCED COLITIS IN MICE
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including Ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease, is a chronic condition of the intestine characterized by an uncontrolled inflammatory response. Current biologic treatments developed to treat IBD are expensive and associated with significant side effects; thus, alternative approaches are required. Recently, herbal concoctions have emerged as promising intervention. This study investigates the protective effects of Salvia fruticosa (SF) against acetic acid-induced colitis in mice, a model of human inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Mice were divided into four groups (n=3). IBD was induced with acetic acid (6%). SF was administered by gavage at 1.5ug/kg mimicking folk medicine. SF treatment was given for 2, 4 & 6 days. After treatment, colons were collected for colonic biochemical markers, and histopathological evaluation. SF treatment induced enhancement in the colon’s structure and decreased ulcerations and inflammation. It significantly decreased pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-17 by 2.1-fold and 0.9-fold respectively at day2 and 6 and IL-6 by 2.8-fold at day 2 & 1.7-fold at day 6. Also, pro-inflammatory cytokine INF-γ showed a significant 22-fold decrease at day2 in SF-treated colitic group. Moreover, Myeloperoxidase (MPO) and Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels decreased showing the anti-oxidant property of the extract. Anti-oxidant Glutathione (GSH) level and anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10, remained at normal levels while an increase by 0.9-fold at day 2 and 0.5-fold at day 6 in anti-inflammatory cytokine TGF-β in healthy SF-treated groups was significant. Hence, Salvia fruticosa exerts an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects against IBD as well as it help healing colon ulcers and maintain its architecture
