No full textDepartmental Bulletin PaperIn the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, youth in our country have been using the Internet for extended periods of time. This paper analyzes the relationship between prolonged use and youth fatigue based on data from a cross-sectional survey we conducted between 2021 and 2022. It is known that Internet use for entertainment purposes, such as playing online games and watching videos, is becoming longer, but we would like to call attention to the fact that prolonged use for learning is also fatiguing in its own way. In this paper, we review the situation of schoolchildren’s Internet use as inferred from our survey, analyze the relationship between their health status and prolonged Internet use as revealed by the survey through cross tabulation, and discuss the relationship between Internet use for learning purposes and schoolchildren’s health status through multiple regression analysis.departmental bulletin pape
