This paper attempts to identify the rate of the high-risk group of this “disease”among schoolchildren, to find out the distribution of them and what kind of net servicesthey incline to use on a survey we executed in primary and junior-high schools in Maebashi city, Gunma prefecture, Japan.\nThe result tells us that 7.9% of 5-6 grade primary schoolchildren and 6.8% of junior-high schoolchildren are regarded as belonging to the high risk group. According to our regression analysis, movie sites are the most influential among several online services for the “addiction score”we set on our questionnaire.We also find out the adaptationto schoollife is important for the score.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFDepartmental Bulletin PaperThe article tries to identify the patterns of industrialization of latecomers in Southeast Asia, i.e., Thailand, in comparison with advanced countries, such as, Japan and South Korea in Asia. The article concludes that the pattern of Thailand’s’ industrialization as the latest latecomer differs from those of other advanced countries, such as Japan and South Korea. This is due to the impact of globalization, particularly, free trade and foreign direct investment in these countries by transnational corporations (TNCs) in the end of the 20th century and early 21st century. Get PDFDepartmental Bulletin Paper本研究は、日本人大学生が海外経験において、どのような文化的葛藤事例を経験したのか、また、\nそれらの経験には類似性が認められるのかについて、１か月以上の海外滞在経験を有する日本人大学\n生を対象に自由記述式の質問紙調査を実施した結果を分析したものである。その結果、日本人大学\n生の海外経験における葛藤事例は「パブリック場面における葛藤」「居住場面における葛藤」「アカ\nデミック場面における葛藤」「友人関係における葛藤」「見知らぬ人との交流における葛藤」「異性関\n係における葛藤」の６つの大カテゴリーと、13の中カテゴリーに分類された。これらのカテゴリーに\nは、積極的な説得交渉のアサーションスキルが必要な場面と、人間関係形成のためのアサーションス\nキルが必要とされる場面の両方が含まれていた。ケースの数が多かったのは説得交渉の場面であった\nが、滞在期間が長い学生ほど人間関係形成の場面における葛藤事例を経験していることも明らかと\nなった。departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFDepartmental Bulletin PaperThis research paper details the extensive use of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL)\nfor a content-based reading syllabus at Gunma University, through the software program Moodle\n(Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment ), a free and open-source software learning\nmanagement system used at Gunma University.\n The research basis of this paper is within the sphere of Action Research , as a valuable professional\ndevelopment tool (Nunan, 2001) based on this researcher’s perceived valuation of the system and how it\ncould better aid students to perform better in and be more motivated towards their English language and\nreading studies, introduce new technological skills and abilities, and aid teachers in better preparation,\nteaching and assessment of reading classes. Moodle enthuses that the Lesson Module ‘enables a teacher\nto deliver content and/or practice activities in interesting and flexible ways...teachers can choose to\nincrease engagement and ensure understanding by including a variety of questions, such as multiple choice,\nmatching and short answer.’ (Moodle, 2016).
