    Departmental Bulletin Paper群馬大学では、一部2018年度より、そして2021年度より全学として、アクティブラーニングの一つの手法であるプロジェクト型学習(Project-Based Learning: PBL)の手法を取り入れた英語授業を実施している。高校まで受けてきた英語授業とは異なる授業方法となってしまう学生にとっては、大きな挑戦となる授業形態だが、この授業を通じて「コミュニケーション力が身についた」「自分の意見を言えるようになった」などの肯定的な成果が度々確認されている。本稿では、日本における英語教育とプロジェクト型学習の可能性と課題を探り、変化の激しい現代に適応できる能力を涵養するべく英語教育の在り方を検討する。departmental bulletin pape

    Departmental Bulletin PaperThe purpose of this study is to determine the differences and their relevance with regard to the subject-specific conception of learning held by Japanese elementary and junior high school students. In particular, we will examine whether conception of learning are consistent across subjects or differ from subject to subject, and how these differences manifest themselves across grade levels. The survey was conducted in several elementary and junior high schools in Shizuoka Prefecture, and data were collected using a conception of learning scale. The results showed that elementary school students tended to have lower scores in Japanese than in other subjects, while second-year junior high school students scored slightly higher than other students in social studies in terms of meaning-oriented learning. On the other hand, scores in Japanese and social studies tended to be higher than those in arithmetic/mathematics and science for the memorization/reproduction-oriented conception of learning. In addition, the results of this study suggest that the scores of the conception of learning scale are somewhat consistent within individuals. Based on the above, implications for educational practice were discussed.departmental bulletin pape
