Automatic detection of cyberbullying to make internet a safer environment

    No full text
The Internet has become an inevitable form of communication, which enables connections with colleagues, friends, or people with similar interests, regardless of physical barriers. However, there is also a dark side to the Internet, since an alarming number of adolescents admit they have been victims or bystanders of cyberbullying. In order to make the Internet a safer environment, it is necessary to develop novel methods and software capable of preventing and managing cyberbullying. This chapter reviews existing research in dealing with this phenomenon and discusses current and potential applications of text mining techniques for the detection of cyberbullying

Contemporary terrorism is a multifaceted and controversial concept, loaded with political instrumentalization, because of which it is very difficult to find scientifically based framework for its analysis. Finding a scientifically based framework for analyzing and assessing the terrorist threats would be of help for better understanding the terrorism, and for establishing an accord among the actors of the anti-terrorist struggle on the basic dimensions of this phenomenon, whereby the fight against terrorism would be made much more effective at all levels. This paper analyzes terrorism as a social and historical phenomenon, as a strategy of violent political struggle, and as a specific act of violence.

This paper presents security culture as a social resource and a factor in the development of the national security, involving two important processes: first, as a transfer of national culture into security culture, and second, as a transfer of national security into security culture. To develop this postulate, we have started from a national framework of security and security culture, and considered in what ways and including what factors, actors or institutions, the security culture should contribute to the development and maintenance of national security. There are many factors that affect the stability and development of national security. In addition to military, economic, political and technological factors arising from the empowerment and stability of democratic processes and the level of institutional development and efficiency, very important are also those that originate from the sphere of culture, national culture, and then security culture as well. Security culture that resulted from the national culture by strengthening and empowerment of the national identity in particular, through the strengthening of the national will, the citizens' patriotic awareness and readiness to defend the vital national values, is focused also to achieving permanent national objectives, primarily relying on its own resources and assets in all areas of social development. The focus of the paper is on the role and importance of the social elite and the national education system, when it comes to the transfer of the national culture to the security culture, and the role of government and social institutions, when it comes to the transfer of national security to security culture.U ovom radu predstavljena je bezbednosna kultura kao društveni resurs i faktor razvoja nacionalne bezbednosti, uključujući dva bitna procesa: prvi, kao transfer nacionalne kulture u bezbednosnu kulturu i, drugi, kao transfer nacionalne bezbednosti u bezbednosnu kulturu.

In the paper, we presented the results of the research in which we studied the influence of the form of socialisation on the indicators of soicalistion of novice teachers. Data were collected by questionnarie with the appropriate sample of threeworking units at the territory of Belgrade. There are factors which tell about self-evaluaitopn of socialisation (acceptance by the colleagues, professional readiness), about the estimation of the form of socialisation (planned soicalistioan, spontaneous socialisation, influence of education), as well as self-estimation of indicators of organisaiotnal soicialisation (satisfaction with work and colleagues, stress and absence, involvment in the success at work). Results of the research show that novice teachers who are being adapted, are mostly helped by colleagues and superiors, then different forms of oranisational soicalisttion, such as mentor work, manuals, simulaiton at work and education directed to socilaisation. This is how particular significance of social supportis stressed, and this is during the process of organisaitonal socialisation.U radu su predstavljeni rezultati istraživanja u kome je ispitivan uticaj oblika socijalizacije na indikatore socijalizovanosti novozaposlenih. Time se potvrđuje poseban značaj socijalne podrške tokom procesa organizacione socijalizacije

Natural disasters of all types (meteorological, hydrological, geophysical, climatic and biological) are increasingly becoming a part of everyday life of the modern man. The consequences are often devastating to life, health and property of people, but also to the security of the country and the entire international community. Earthquakes belong to a group of geophysical disasters and occur very often, with the highest number of them being of lower intensity. Stronger earthquakes may cause extensive property damage and serious consequences to human life by forming cracks in the earth's crust, ground shaking, flooding, release of hazardous substances, and the like. In this sense, for effective and efficient protection and response to emergencies caused by deleterious effect of seismic waves, it is necessary, among other things, to comprehensively investigate this natural phenomenon, and therefore, the subject of this paper is a form, consequences, and temporal and geospatial arrangement of earthquake manifestations. Using an international database on natural disasters of the Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED), headquartered in Brussels, with the support of statistical analysis software (SPSS) and the method of thematic cartography, we have tried to point to the number, trends, consequences, and temporal and geospatial distribution of earthquakes in the period from 1900 till 2013, as well as to the need for an adequate response of the society to this type of a natural disaster.Prirodne katastrofe svih vrsta (meteorološke, hidrološke, geofizičke, klimatske i biološke) sve više postaju deo svakodnevnog života savremenog čoveka.

    Culture as national securuty interest

Our aim in this paper is to point out that the social role and importance of culture in the modern world are perfectly legitimate in as much as culture is connected with all the aspects of social life and integrated in all social phenomena and processes. Culture can also be linked to security because together they encourage thinking about the ways of responding to threats and vulnerabilities affecting an individual, a social group or society as a whole, and even the state itself. The most general anthropological understanding of culture, commonly accepted by scholars yet criticized at the same time, deÞ nes culture as a “way of life” or as a “socially deÞ ned way of life”. However, this paper will focus on the approaches to interpreting culture that proceed from its fundamental functions, which serve to satisfy man’s needs but also to set normative goals, that is, determine the standards of a tolerant and desirable existence. We have singled out survival, communication, normative, cumulative, and security and protection functions as the most signiÞ cant functions of culture that promote the development and quality of life, at the same time building essentially on the concept of security culture. They will be discussed in this paper
