Climate mapping of average precipitation. National Atlas of Spain: Map
No full textEste artículo describe el proceso de elaboración de la cartografía de precipitación media anual y estacional del periodo 1991–2020, integrada en el Atlas Nacional de España (ANE). Se detallan las fases de generalización ráster, vectorización, revisión topológica y composición , realizadas a partir de datos de la Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET) siguiendo los estándares técnicos del Atlas. El objetivo es obtener mapas claros, comparables y precisos, adaptados a la escala del ANE y adecuados para su difusión pública. El resultado es una cartografía actualizada y rigurosa que contribuye al conocimiento geográfico y climático del país.
This article describes the process of producing maps of average annual and seasonal precipitation for the period 1991–2020, included in the National Atlas of Spain (ANE). It details the phases of raster generalisation, vectorisation, topological review and composition, carried out using data from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) in accordance with the Atlas\u27 technical standards. The aim is to obtain clear, comparable and accurate maps, adapted to the scale of the ANE and suitable for public dissemination. The result is up-to-date and rigorous cartography that contributes to the geographical and climatic knowledge of the country

No full textLa aparición de nuevas fuentes estadísticas sobre la demanda turística a nivel municipal y su integración con datos de población permiten abordar en este trabajo el diseño de una propuesta cartográfica que analiza conjuntamente las dinámicas demográficas y la movilidad turística en Aragón. La cartografía se elabora a partir de la tasa de variación acumulada de la población censada y del número de viajes interprovinciales de turistas residentes entre 2020 y 2023, empleando para su codificación una leyenda bivariante que facilita la lectura y comparación integrada de ambos indicadores. El resultado constituye un avance en la visualización y comprensión de los patrones recientes de movilidad turística interna y de la evolución demográfica, además de aportar mejoras en el enfoque y el diseño cartográfico aplicado al análisis turístico territorial.The emergence of new statistical sources on tourism demand at the municipal level, together with their integration with population data, enables this study to develop a cartographic proposal that jointly analyses demographic dynamics and tourist mobility in Aragon. The cartography is based on the cumulative rate of change in demographic data and on the number of interprovincial trips made by resident tourists between 2020 and 2023, using a bivariate legend that facilitates the integrated interpretation and comparison of both indicators. The results stand for an advance in the visualisation and understanding of recent patterns of internal tourist mobility and demographic evolution, while also providing improvements in the methodological approach and cartographic design applied to territorial tourism analysis

Las aportaciones en forma de artículos, mapas, notas y reseñas, completan un número ambicioso que tiene como reto atraer a lectores de distintos ámbitos relacionados con el mundo del territorio y su gestión.This issue of Geographicalia takes a look at various problems affecting the territory in a wide range of geographical and thematic areas. It also proposes measures to manage these problems, supported by rigorous, exhaustive analysis and reliable data sources, which help to restore balance and reduce inequalities. Contributions in the form of articles, maps, notes and reviews complete an ambitious issue that aims to attract readers from different fields related to the world of territory and its management.
Voices in Transit: The Role of Speech and Silence in Colombian Women’s Migrant Experience in Asturias
No full textEste artículo examina las dinámicas del habla y el silencio en la experiencia de mujeres colombianas migrantes en Asturias, España. En diálogo con teorías feministas negras, chicanas y descoloniales que abordan el lenguaje como espacio de poder, resistencia y exclusión, indagamos cómo las mujeres migrantes negocian su voz en contextos de dominación. A partir de relatos de ocho mujeres, obtenidos a través de entrevistas en profundidad, cuestionamos las jerarquías lingüísticas que imponen el lenguaje como mecanismo de dominación, poder y control. Desde un enfoque feminista interseccional, abordamos la dicotomía voz—silencio para analizar su relación con la agencia y las formas de violencia estructural que atraviesan los procesos migratorios. Analizamos el silenciamiento en diferentes dimensiones: desde el lenguaje racista y la exigencia de integración hasta la imposición de cambios en el acento y el vocabulario como estrategias de adaptación y supervivencia. Examinamos cómo la resistencia al cambio lingüístico y cultural puede interpretarse tanto como un acto de afirmación identitaria como una estrategia de supervivencia en contextos hostiles. Finalmente, argumentamos que el silencio no es únicamente una manifestación de opresión, sino también un espacio de resistencia y agencia, en el que las mujeres negocian su identidad y pertenencia.This article examines the dynamics of speech and silence in the experiences of Colombian migrant women in Asturias, Spain. Engaging with Black, Chicana, and Decolonial feminist theories that conceptualize language as a site of power, resistance, and exclusion, we explore how migrant women negotiate their voice in contexts of domination. Based on in-depth interviews with eight women, we question the linguistic hierarchies that position language as a mechanism of control, power, and domination. From an intersectional feminist perspective, we address the voice–silence dichotomy to explore its relationship to agency and the forms of structural violence that shape migratory processes. We analyze the mechanism of silencing across multiple dimensions: from racist language and demands for integration to the imposition of accent and changes in the vocabulary as strategies for adaptation as well as survival. We also consider how resisting linguistic and cultural change can function both as an act of identity affirmation and as a survival strategy in hostile environments. Finally, we argue that silence is not only a manifestation of oppression, but also a space of resistance and agency through which women renegotiate their identity and belonging

Synthesis of affordable activated carbons from almond shell and almond tree pruning waste for aqueous zinc hybrid supercapacitors
No full textThis study focuses on improving biomass-derived carbon materials to be used as cathodes in zinc hybrid supercapacitors. We chemically activated almond shells and almond tree pruning residues through a hydrothermal pretreatment and subsequent carbonisation. We examined the effects of precursor morphology and activating agents on the properties of the resulting carbons. Furthermore, the influence of the type of electrolyte and the use of carbon black as conductive agent on the electrochemical performance was also assessed. The best-performing K2CO3-treated sample achieved 142 mA h g–1 at 0.1 A g–1 with 92 % capacity retention over 2000 cycles at 10 A g–

For this reason, a GPU based model representing the evolution of the water fluxes and sediment and solute fluxes has been tested using data from Guadalquivir estuary located to the southern part of Spain.
