    Get PDF
departmental bulletin pape

    Get PDF
application/pdfThe so called lost ten years, starting after the collapse of the bubble era at the beginning of the nineties, were a hard time not only in economical aspects, but it is cosidered as a sour period for the art scene and culture in general too. However, the art scene didn't stand still: art exhibitions were opened every day, new artists were born, parties were held. So, I took my 4×5 large format camera and went to exhibitions, to ateliers and the artists' living places to make portraits. The resulting photos have been arranged in a series, I call TOKYO ARTISTS. This text covers the photo exhibition, held in the Nagaoka Institute of Design in 2007 as well as the photobook TOKYO ARTISTS.departmental bulletin pape

application/pdfIt is necessary to access quantitatively the statistics of wind force to cotrol the damage of buildings due to wind force predicted in future. The purpose of this paper is to develop in the frequency domain a mathematical formula making the statistical prediction of energy input to buildings subjected to wind force, which will bocome the fundamental formula to establish the rational wind-resistance design method.departmental bulletin pape

application/pdfA Memorandum on the former Ota House: A village headman's Gassho-style house in Omaki village, Shirakawa-go. The Ota family was the headman in Omaki village located in the middle of Shirakawa-go. According to the building record, the former Ota House was a Gassho-style house and was constructed in 1842. Because of the dam construction, the former Ota House was torn down and reconstructed in the Higashiyama botanical garden, Nagoya city. Today the building is open to the public as a museum. The purpose of this study is to clarify the history of the former Ota House through the survey of the extant main building and ancient documents. From the investigation of ancient documents, the status and the role of the Ota family and the construction process in Edo period were clarified. From our building survey, it is proved that the main building had a yobai room which was a bedroom where a wife met her husband living in a separate residence. It is considered as a trace of Dai-kazoku system, which means large family. Through the investigation of the building plan, it is clarified that the Shoin room next to the room with a Buddhist altar was used as a waiting room for Buddhist priests. The room was planned adjunctively to the measurements of the main room with a Buddhist altar.departmental bulletin pape
