Sangam Literature is the repository of the thoughts and deeds of the ancient Tamils. On the basis of that, it is not possible to count the many known achievements made by the intelligence of the ancient Tamils from that day till today. In one of its varieties, organic farming, the Tamilian is a parallel Tamilian. All of agrarian man's intelligence and rationality were scientific. Our agronomists are the ones who have worked empirically on the signals of nature, birds, and animals. They have an intelligence that transcends reason. Panchaboothankal (Five Elements of Nature) as Depicted in Kurunthokai
Sangam literature is one of the oldest pieces of literature that deals with the culture and customs of ancient peoples. In this literature, Ettuthokai (the Eight Anthologies) and Patthupaattu (The Ten Idylls) are the best guides for us to understand the aspects of the lives of the people and to live through them, and they provide ideas in many fields, such as science, astronomy, psychology, geography, etc. In that sense, it would not be an exaggeration to say that even though the Kurunthokai songs narrate the lives of the man and the woman, they give way to various creative scientific ideas. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to look at the multifaceted ideas found in the Kurunthokai songs
The Doctrine of Charity in the Books of Aatruppatai
In the Aatruppatai texts, under the title of Eegai (Charity), it is examined how it has been developed from the position of the character to duty, with the change of meaning over time. It has been highlighted that hospitality is the foundation of Tamil culture. Out of the patthuppaattu, the information about the charity is discussed through the five Aatruppatai books: Thirumurukaatrupadai, Porunaratrupadai, Sirupanatrupadai, Perumbaanatrupadai, and Kootharaatrupadai, which is also known as Malaipadukadam, whereby poverty, on one hand, and prosperity, on the other, the unequal compromise that exists in society between the giver and the receiver, has been examined. It has been pointed out that the gift to the Panars differs from the gift given to the poets. It is summed up that the emperors, chieftains, and chieftains gifted them rich dresses, ornaments, their ruled kingdoms, towns, mountains, lotus made of gold, chariots, horses, elephants, and oxen, and food items to the people who came to them, and the ordinary people supplied food items and toddy in their possession in return. The woman was the foremost in the early maternal society. Goddesses were also seen as primary in worship. The elements of natural energy were praised as feminine. Folklore Elements in Vallikannan Novels
Folk literature is created by the common people and preserved by them. Vallikannan is a renowned writer, journalist and author of all kinds of literature, his novels Iruttu Raja, Ninaivu charam and Oruveetin Kathi describe the life of Saiva Velalar in Nellai district in a rustic form. Among these games children's games are swinging, playing Tayakkatam, playing by singing and dancing, playing pandi, and playing Kannambuchi. Other common games are folk songs, titling, calling women by their village names, proverbs, folk performances related to religion, celebrating festivals, paying tribute to the village temple during festivals, performing arts, naming, marriage, processions, performing arts programs at weddings. They use figure of speech in their speech. The folk songs, proverbs and local idioms used by the Nellai district people reveals the author's general knowledge and approach to the people. It can be seen that the folk elements found in lullabies, folk tales, songs, stories, fables, myths, proverbs etc are mixed with the character and sentiment of the Tamil people.
