Investigating prospective teachers’ perceived levels of efficacy towards measurement and evaluation
No full textBu calismada ogretmen adaylarinin olcme ve degerlendirme alanina yonelik yeterlik algi duzeyleri belirlenmeye calisilmistir. Bu amacla arastirmacilar tarafindan gelistirilen Likert turu olcek Amasya Egitim Fakultesi’nde ogrenim goren 464 ogretmen adayina uygulanmistir. Arastirmada toplanan veriler, degiskenlerin turune gore tek faktorlu ANOVA ve bagimsiz gruplar icin t-testi ile analiz edilmistir. Ogretmen adaylarinin acik uclu soruya verdikleri cevaplar ise arastirmanin nitel boyutunu meydana getirmistir. Verilerin analizi sonunda ogretmen adaylarinin olcme-degerlendirmeyi alanina yonelik yeterlik algi duzeylerinin cok yuksek olmadigi belirlenmistir. Ayrica ogretmen adaylarinin yeterlik algi duzeylerinin cinsiyet ve programlarina gore farklilik gostermedigi fakat mezun olunan ortaogretim turune gore farklilik gosterdigi belirlenmistir. Bu farkliligin ise ogretmen lisesi mezunlarinin lehine oldugu gorulmustur. Ogretmen adaylari olcme-degerlendirmede kendilerini yeterli gorememe nedenleri olarak, yeterli egitimi alamamalarini ve derslere alan uzmanlarinin girmemesini gostermislerdir. Calcium oxalate crystals in leaves of Quercus cerris L. and Q. ilex L.
No full textLeaves of Quercus cerris L. were collected from Zonguldak, Devrek and those of Q. ilex L. samples were collected from Zonguldak, Ere?li, Turkey. The leaf sections were subjected to histochemical analysis and brown-black stained calcium oxalate crystals were identified. The organic contents in the leaves were completely cleaned for polarizing microscope investigation. Calcium oxalate crystals were found to be druz and prismatic in Q. cerris and Q. ilex species. While druz crystals were localized in mesophyll, prismatic ones were localized around the leaf vessels. The amount of calcium oxalate crystals per mm2 was determined in permanent preparations.

Seed morphology and histology of some <i>Paronychia</i> taxa (Caryophyllaceae) from Turkey
No full textSeed morphology and histology of 12 taxa (nine species, two subspecies, one variety) of Paronychia Miller (Caryophyllaceae) by light and scanning electron microscopes revealed that seeds are laterally compressed, reniform, and hilums are linear. Testa surface structures are alveolate-scalariform, colliculate, reticulate-alveolate, rugose and ruminate. Differences in cuticle and papillae properties of epidermal cells have been observed. A dichotomous key has been developed for Paronychia agryloba Stapf, P. angorensis Chaudri, P. arabica (L.) DC. subsp. euphratica Chaudri, P. carica Chaudri, P. cataonica Chaudri, P. condensata Chaudri, P. davisii Chaudri, P. dudleyi Chaudri, P. galatica Chaudri, P. kurdica Boiss subsp. kurdica var. kurdica, P. kurdica Boiss subsp. montis-munzur Chaudri and P. mughlaei Chaudri. THE EFFECTS OF NITROUS OXIDE ON VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL GROWTH FACTOR (VEGF) AND ITS SOLUBLE RECEPTOR 1 (VEGFR1) IN PATIENT UNDERGOING UROLOGICAL SURGERY
No full textAnesthesia and surgical intervention, leads to the development of systemic inflammatory response. The severity of the inflammatory response depends on the pharmacological effects of anesthetic agents and duration of anesthesia. OBJECTIVE of the study was to investigate the effect of nitrous oxide on VEGF and VEGFR1 levels in patients undergoing surgery.Forty-four patients undergoing elective urological surgery were included in the study. Anesthesia maintenance was provided with 1-2 MAC sevoflurane, O2 50%, N2O 50% in 4L/m transporter gase for group 1 (n=22) and 1-2 MAC sevoflurane, O2 50%, air 50% in 4L/m transporter gase for group 2 (n=22) Venous blood samples for the measurement of VEGF and VEGFR1 were taken before the induction of anaesthesia, 60 minutes of anesthesia induction, at the end of anaesthesia and 24 hours after operation. In statistical analysis Bonferroni test and analysis of variance at the repeated measures were used Results: In the postoperative period serum VEGF levels had decreased significantly in both group whereas VEGFR1 did not show a significant change.Nitrous oxide showed significant effect on angiogenic parameters. Further detailed studies are required to evaluate the effect of nitrous oxide
