    Penentuan Material dan Ketebalan Kritis Isolator Pada Exhaust Pipe Generator Set 350 Kva

    This study aims to determine experimentally the critical thickness and related material of insulator to minimize heat loss of the exhaust pipe in a diesel engine driving a 350 kVA power generator. The method used in this study is an experimental approach. The data collection technique is carried out by direct measurement of temperatures. The heat transfer rate test was carried out by coating the exhaust pipe using two insulator materials, namely insulator A and insulator B. Insulator A used fiberglass tape material which has a value of k = 0,038 W/m.°C. While insulator B uses ceramic fiber material with a value of k = 0,06 W/m.°C. This heat transfer rate data has been then calculated based on the measured data taken using a Fluke type 62 max+ thermometer that can measure temperatures from −30 °C to 650 °C (−22 °F to 1202 °F). The results of the study show that: (1) Insulator material B is more appropriate to minimize heat loss in the exhaust pipe of the diesel engine driving a 350 kVA power generator, with the data obtained that the heat flowing from inside to outside the cylinder at point 1 insulator B = 31,553 W is smaller compared to insulator A = 82,356 W, the heat flowing from inside to outside the cylinder at point 2 insulator B = 31,462 W is smaller compared to insulator A = 79,985 W. The heat lost with the addition of insulator B = 40,923 W is smaller than the insulator A = 89,874 W. (2) The critical thickness to minimize heat loss in the diesel engine driving a 350 KVA power generator is the minimum thickness of insulator material A = 4,75 mm, the minimum thickness of insulator material B = 7,5 mm.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menenutkan material dan ketebalan kritis bahan isolator untuk meminimalisasi kehilangan panas di exhaust pipe pada mesin diesel penggerak generator daya 350 kVA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi. Pengujian laju perpindahan panas dilakukan dengan melapisi exhaust pipe menggunakan dua bahan insulator yaitu insulator A dan insulator B. Insulator A menggunakan material fiberglass tape yang memiliki nilai k = 0,038 W/m.℃. Sedangkan insulator B menggunakan material ceramic fiber memiliki nilai k = 0,06 W/m.℃. Data laju perpindahan panas ini diambil menggunakan menggunakan thermometer merk Fluke type 62 max + yang dapat mengukur suhu dari −30  sampai 650  (−22  sampai 1202 ). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa : (1) Bahan insulator B lebih tepat digunakan untuk meminimalisasi kehilangan panas pada exhauts pipe mesin diesel penggerak generator daya 350 KVA, dengan data yang diperoleh yaitu panas yang mengalir dari dalam ke luar silinder pada titik 1 insulator B = 31,553 lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan insulator A = 82,356, panas yang mengalir dari dalam ke luar silinder pada titik 2 insulator B = 31,462 lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan insulator A = 76,985. Panas yang hilang dengan ditambah insulator B = 40,923  lebih kecil dibandigkan insulator A = 89,874 . (2) Ketebalan kritis untuk meminimalisasi kehilangan panas pada mesin diesel penggerak generator daya 350 KVA yaitu tebal minimun bahan insulator A = 4,75 mm, tebal minimun bahan insulator B = 7,5 mm.

    During the Covid-19 pandemic, the use of video-based settings (VBT) in psychotherapy increased rapidly. The effectiveness of VBT settings compared with traditional face-to-face settings has been investigated in a number of meta-analyses. The results suggest that VBT does not have a disadvantage in terms of effectiveness when compared with face-to-face settings. However, previous meta-analyses have mixed the different digital psychotherapy settings (as video-, chat- and telephone-based) or examined effectiveness only with regard to individual disorders. Our meta-analysis aims to examine the effectiveness of synchronous VBT settings compared with traditional face-to-face settings across disorders. We only include randomised controlled trials in our analysis to provide the highest possible evidence

    Removal of Information from Working Memory During Updating (with Baseline)

    Working memory (short WM), the system responsible for holding mental representations temporarily available for later use in thought or action (Oberauer et al., 2018), has severely limited capacity. Because the subject of our thoughts is rapidly changing, WM content needs to be constantly updated. WM updating has been described as a combination of two processes: (1) the removal of information from WM and (2) the encoding of new information in its place. In the present study, we want to test the assumption that to-be-updated information is removed from WM before the encoding of the new information. For this, we will use a modified version of Ecker’s et al., (2014) letter updating task: First, participants will remember 6 words presented one-by-one across six boxes arranged on a circle. Next, participants will work through a series of removal/updating steps (manipulation phase). Sometimes they will do no removal/updating steps but remember all 6 words (to signal this remember-all condition, all 6 frames will turn blue and participants have to wait for 9s). When there is a manipulation phase, in each step, the frame of one word will turn dark-orange for 1.5s (pre-cue), indicating that this word should be forgotten. Following the pre-cue, either a new word will be presented for 1s (updating condition) or all frames will remain empty for 1s signaling that no new word has to be encoded but the old word can still be forgotten (removal condition). In a subsequent test phase, we will assess participants’ item and item-position memory in form of a two-step test: First, we will test participants’ item memory by presenting one to-be-remembered (TBR) word at the time of test and a completely new word in the center of the screen. Using their computer mouse, participants’ first task will be to select the word that was previously presented in that trial. Next, to measure participants’ item-position memory, we will ask participants to select the frame the “old” word was previously presented in by clicking on it. Most of the trials, we will test participants’ memory for one of the TBR boxes (either for a word that was not to-be-updated or for a newly updated word). On a small subset of trials, we will test participant’s memory for a to-be-forgotten (TBF) word (removal condition). For this, for the item memory test, instead of a TBR word, a TBF word of that trial will be presented together with new word. By asking participants to forget some information without encoding new information (removal condition), we will test whether memory performance improves when the final memory set-size is decreased by removing items without replacing them with new stimuli (facilitation effect). By testing the to-be-forgotten information on very few occasions, we will test whether participants are still able to remember the last contents of TBF-boxes in the removal condition or not. In a previous experiment, we observed both facilitation and directed-forgetting effects (worse memory for TBF information as compared to TBR item-location bindings). However, in that experiment, we could not disentangle whether the observed improvement in memory performance for the TBR information with increasing number of TBF items stems from reduced WM load (more items can be removed from WM -> fewer items have to be maintained) or an increase in updating steps (there were always 3 manipulation steps; an increase in removal steps went together with a decrease in updating steps). In the present experiment, to test whether removal of information from WM results in a facilitation effect, we introduce a baseline condition, where participants go through no manipulation steps (that is, they only have to maintain six items). If memory performance in the set-sizes 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 (see method section) is better than in the new set-size 6 baseline condition, we can infer that removing information benefitted memory for the remaining still-relevant WM content

    Replication of Similarity is Associated With Where Repeated Event Memories Fall on the Semantic-Episodic Continuum

    The aim of this ongoing project is to better understand how people construct memories of repeated events using episodic and semantic memory. In study 1, we found evidence for our first main hypothesis: namely, that self-reported repeated event similarity is significantly associated with higher self-reported use of semantic memory. Our second main hypothesis is that lower self-reported repeated event similarity is significantly associated with higher self-reported utilization of episodic memory, but we did not find support for that hypothesis in study 1. It is possible that study 1 was not statistically powerful enough to capture a significant effect for the latter hypothesis, which we will determine in study 2.
