Emotional Intelligence and Suicidal Ideation in Indonesian Adolescents: Dynamics, Contributing Factors, and Pathways to Resilience
Suicide ideation among adolescents has emerged as a pressing global health crisis, with recent national surveys in Indonesia reporting that over 1% of youth experience such thoughts and many face related mental health challenges. This study explores the dynamics and influencing factors of emotional intelligence (EI) in adolescents who experience suicide ideation. Employing a qualitative case study design, five participants aged 15–22 years with a history of suicide ideation were purposively selected. Data were gathered through in-depth, semi-structured interviews guided by Goleman’s EI framework and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Results reveal that all participants exhibited underdeveloped EI, characterized by difficulties in recognizing and regulating emotions, limited self-control during emotional crises, and impaired relationship skills. Key factors shaping these EI patterns included negative parenting, traumatic experiences, and insufficient social support. Despite these challenges, some adolescents demonstrated adaptive coping through creative expression and supportive relationships. The findings highlight the importance of family and community support as protective factors and underscore the need for targeted interventions to enhance EI and resilience in vulnerable youth. Edukasi Kesiapsiagaan Gempa Bumi pada Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus Menggunakan Media Pobody pada Siswa SLB Negeri 1 Lombok Barat [Earthquake Preparedness Education for Children with Special Needs Using Pobody Media at SLB Negeri 1 West Lombok]
Abstract. Earthquakes are one of the disasters that frequently occur in Indonesia, such as the one that happened on Lombok Island in 2018. The series of earthquakes above 6 on the Richter Scale had a severe impact on the community, causing damage to residential homes and school buildings. One of the groups most affected during the disaster was children with disabilities. The damaged and collapsed school buildings, where children spend an average of seven hours a day, categorize schools as disaster-prone areas because a disaster can happen during school hours. Efforts to increase disaster preparedness often fail to involve children with disabilities, even though approximately 15% of the world's disaster victims are people with disabilities. Children with disabilities are vulnerable to becoming victims of a disaster due to a lack of understanding and preparedness. The purpose of this community service activity is to enhance the understanding of disaster preparedness among children with disabilities using a Pop-Up Book for Disability (POBODY) and videos. This activity was conducted at SLB Negeri 1 Lombok Barat in Dasan Geria village, West Lombok Regency, with a target audience of 30 special needs students. The activity was carried out through education using a Pop-Up Book for Disability (POBODY) and videos, followed by an evaluation of the results. The evaluation showed a significant increase in knowledge among the children with disabilities. Abstrak. Tata Kelola organisasi merupakan salah satu bentuk usaha organisasi dalam Menyusun dan mengorganisasikan kelompok atau usahanya. Dalam mencapai tata Kelola organisasi yang baik dapat terwujud dengan memanfaatkan sistem informasi akuntansi. Sistem informasi akuntansi berbasis website merupakan sistem yang dapat memberikan manfaat seperti transparansi, efisiensi, akuntabilitas, serta kemudahan dalam pelaporan dan audit. Pelaporan akuntansi dan keuangan di Pondok Pesantren Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Darul Falah Selangor Malaysia saat ini tata Kelola pondok pesantren masih menggunakan pencatatan laporan keuangan secara manual menggunakan buku. Oleh karena itu tim pengabdian Masyarakat menawarkan untuk membantu mengelola organisasi berbasis sistem informasi akuntansi berbasis web. Sistem informasi akuntansi berbasis web diharapkan dapat membantu pondok pesantren dalam mengelola organisasi secara transparan cepat dan efisien. Hasil dari pengabdian Masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelola pondok pesantren mampu mengoperasikan SIA secara mandiri setelah dilaksanakannya pelatihan, dan sudah mampu menerapkan prinsip tata Kelola organisasi lebih baik. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini mampu memberikan dampak positif dalam memperkuat organsisasi, meningkatkan efisiensi operasional, serta mendorong pemanfaatan teknologi dalam mendukung keberlanjutan pondok pesantre
Inovasi Usaha Kecil Istri Nelayan sebagai Strategi Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Keluarga Pesisir [Innovation in Small Businesses Run by Fishermen’s Wives as a Strategy for Empowering the Economic Welfare of Coastal Families]
Banten Province has a coastline of 896.063 km and a sea area of 11,500 km², making it a region with great fisheries potential. However, fishermen in this area, especially in Serang City, face economic challenges due to a lack of knowledge and access to technology for processing their catch. Most of the catch is sold directly at low prices without any processing. To improve the welfare of the fishing community, a community service team organized seminars and training sessions in Pekapuran Village. These activities taught fishermen’s wives how to process mackerel into high-value dim sum and introduced them to long-lasting packaging technology. The training involved 35 fishermen’s wives and used assessment methods including surveys, observation, interviews, and counseling. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and interest in entrepreneurship. Understanding of women’s empowerment increased by 4.63%, interest in entrepreneurship rose by 8.42%, and knowledge of digital-based businesses increased by 13.52%. The training successfully boosted participants’ motivation and confidence to utilize local potential and digital technology to increase family income. This activity has the potential to drive economic growth for fishermen’s families in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 2 (no poverty) and number 8 (sustainable economic growth). Abstrak. Provinsi Banten memiliki garis pantai sepanjang 896,063 km dan perairan laut seluas 11.500 km², yang menjadikannya wilayah dengan potensi perikanan besar. Namun, nelayan di wilayah ini, khususnya di Kota Serang, menghadapi tantangan ekonomi karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan akses teknologi pengolahan hasil tangkapan. Kebanyakan hasil tangkapan dijual langsung dengan harga rendah tanpa pengolahan. Untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan komunitas nelayan, tim pengabdian masyarakat mengadakan seminar dan pelatihan di Kampung Pekapuran. Kegiatan ini mengajarkan istri-istri nelayan cara mengolah ikan kembung menjadi dimsum bernilai jual tinggi, serta memperkenalkan teknologi pengemasan tahan lama. Pelatihan ini melibatkan 35 istri nelayan dengan metode assessment yang mencakup survei, observasi, wawancara, dan penyuluhan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan minat berwirausaha peserta. Pemahaman tentang pemberdayaan perempuan meningkat sebesar 4,63%, minat berwirausaha naik 8,42%, dan pengetahuan tentang usaha berbasis digital meningkat 13,52%. Pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan motivasi dan kepercayaan diri peserta dalam memanfaatkan potensi lokal dan teknologi digital untuk meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga. Kegiatan ini berpotensi mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi keluarga nelayan sesuai dengan tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) nomor 2 tanpa kemiskinan dan nomor 8 mengenai pertumbuhan ekonomi yang berkelanjutan
Manajemen Layanan Khusus Bimbingan dan Konseling di SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung [Special Guidance and Counseling Service Management at SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung]
Abstract. This study aims to analyze the management of special guidance and counseling (GC) services at SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung. The main focus of this research includes planning, implementation, evaluation, and challenges in the implementation of GC services. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews with GC teachers, observations, and analysis of school documents. The results show that GC services at SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung are well-structured but still face several obstacles such as limited resources and lack of active student participation. Therefore, innovative strategies are needed in managing GC services to be more effective in supporting students' academic and psychosocial development. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen layanan khusus bimbingan dan konseling (BK) di SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung. Fokus utama penelitian ini mencakup perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, serta tantangan dalam implementasi layanan BK. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan guru BK, observasi, serta analisis dokumen sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layanan BK di SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung telah terstruktur dengan baik, namun masih menghadapi beberapa kendala seperti keterbatasan sumber daya dan kurangnya partisipasi aktif siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi inovatif dalam pengelolaan layanan BK agar lebih efektif dalam mendukung perkembangan akademik dan psikososial siswa
Bridging the Digital Divide: Empowering Teachers with AI Tools in Rural Indonesian Schools
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has the potential to revolutionize teaching and learning, particularly in under-resourced areas. This community service project aimed to empower 20 primary school teachers in Kecamatan Yosowilangun, Lumajang, with the skills and knowledge to integrate AI tools into their instructional practices. Over a six-month period, the project provided a series of workshops, hands-on training, and ongoing support to enhance teachers’ digital literacy and confidence in using AI. The results demonstrated significant improvements in both teacher competency and student engagement. Post-training surveys revealed that teachers' confidence in using AI tools for classroom management, lesson planning, and grading increased from an average of 2.1 (pre-training) to 4.3 (post-training) on a five-point Likert scale. In-class observations indicated that AI-powered platforms such as Google AI and Scratch enhanced student motivation and personalized learning, leading to a 20% improvement in test scores. However, the project also identified challenges, including limited technological infrastructure, teacher resistance, and disparities in student access to devices. These findings underscore the need for continued professional development, investment in technology infrastructure, and policy support to ensure the sustainability of AI integration in education. This study contributes to the growing body of research on AI in education by providing insights into the practical implementation of AI tools in rural schools. The success of this project highlights the transformative potential of AI for improving educational equity and empowering teachers in under-resourced settings
Transformasi Pelaporan Digital Pajak: Edukasi Pemahaman e-Filling, e-Billing dan e-SPT [Digital Tax Reporting Transformation: Educating Understanding of e-Filing, e-Billing, and e-SPT]
Digital transformation is a crucial step in the reform of Indonesia's taxation system. However, many taxpayers, particularly from non-corporate sectors, are still unfamiliar with e-Filing, e-Billing, and e-SPT services. This community service activity aims to enhance digital tax literacy through education and practical training for community groups around SMAN 1 Mojokerto. The implementation method consists of preparation, execution, and evaluation stages. The results of the activity show an improvement in participants' understanding and ability to use the DJP Online platform. Participatory education has proven effective in increasing digital tax literacy. Abstrak. Transformasi digital merupakan langkah penting dalam reformasi sistem perpajakan Indonesia. Namun, masih banyak wajib pajak, khususnya dari kalangan non-korporasi, yang belum familiar dengan layanan e-Filing, e-Billing, dan e-SPT. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi perpajakan digital melalui edukasi dan pelatihan praktis kepada kelompok masyarakat di sekitar SMAN 1 Mojokerto. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan kemampuan peserta dalam menggunakan platform DJP Online. Edukasi yang dilakukan secara partisipatif terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi perpajakan digital
Sosialisasi dan Workshop Pelatihan Penanaman serta Pemanfaatan TOGA (Tanaman Obat Keluarga) di Dukuh Pinggir, Kabupaten Sukoharjo [Socialization and Training Workshop on the Cultivation and Utilization of TOGA (Family Medicinal Plants) in Dukuh Pinggir, Sukoharjo Regency]
This community service aims to improve knowledge and utilization of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) in Dukuh Pinggir RW 7, Telukan Village, Grogol District, Sukoharjo Regency. The activity was carried out through socialization and workshops attended by 70 participants with an age range of 20-60 years and diverse educational backgrounds. Education includes theoretical material and practice of planting TOGA in the yard. Before the training, a pretest was conducted to measure the initial knowledge of the participants, which showed that only 14.3% scored above 60. After the training, there was a significant increase, with 85.7% of participants scoring above 60. These results indicate that educational activities about TOGA are effective in increasing public knowledge and awareness regarding the use of medicinal plants as an alternative to improving family health. In addition to health benefits, this activity also has the potential to support the economic welfare of the community through productive use of yard land. This service recommends the implementation of similar programs on an ongoing basis to expand positive impacts and support the development of health programs based on local wisdom. Abstrak. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemanfaatan Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) di Dukuh Pinggir RW 7, Desa Telukan, Kecamatan Grogol, Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui sosialisasi dan workshop yang diikuti oleh 70 peserta dengan rentang usia 20–60 tahun dan latar belakang pendidikan yang beragam. Edukasi mencakup materi teoritis dan praktik penanaman TOGA di pekarangan rumah. Sebelum pelatihan, dilakukan pretest untuk mengukur pengetahuan awal peserta, yang menunjukkan bahwa hanya 14,3% memperoleh nilai di atas 60. Setelah pelatihan, terjadi peningkatan signifikan, dengan 85,7% peserta memperoleh nilai di atas 60. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan edukatif tentang TOGA efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pemanfaatan tanaman obat sebagai alternatif peningkatan kesehatan keluarga. Selain manfaat kesehatan, kegiatan ini juga berpotensi mendukung kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan secara produktif. Pengabdian ini merekomendasikan pelaksanaan program serupa secara berkelanjutan untuk memperluas dampak positif dan mendukung pengembangan program kesehatan berbasis kearifan lokal
Edukasi Dan Praktek Pembuatan Herbal Daun Salam Dan Daun Jambu Biji Untuk Penyakit Diabetes Melitus Di Komplek Palapan Permai Rt.15 (Education and Practice of Making Herbal Salam Leaves and Guava Leaves for Diabetes Mellitus in Palapan Permai Settlement Rt.15)
Abstrak. Diabetes mellitus (DM) adalah kondisi penyakit jangka panjang yang ditandai dengan kadar glukosa darah yang meningkat. Prevalensi diabetes melitus meningkat sebesar 8,5%, yang menyebabkan estimasi jumlah penderita di Indonesia melebihi 16 juta orang. Setiap daerah tentunya memiliki cara unik dalam memanfaatkan tumbuhan, yang berbeda dengan daerah lain, seperti daun salam dan daun jambu biji. Masyarakat di Komplek Palapan Permai memiliki latar belakang pendidikan formal yang relatif tinggi dan beragam mata pencaharian. Masyarakat komplek Palapan Permai belum memahami dengan benar terkait penggunaan dan pengolahan obat herbal yang benar. Oleh sebab itu, kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi terkait pengolahan daun salam dan daun jambu biji yang tepat. Desain kegiatan edukasi yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pelaksanaan menggunakan survei dan pembagian leaflet. Hasil kegiatan edukasi memiliki jumlah jawaban benar pretest sebesar 60,50% dan posttest sebesar 98,80% yang menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman responden dengan rata-rata benar sebesar 38,32 (38,30%). Oleh karena itu, kegiatan edukasi yang dilakukan di Palapan Permai meningkatkan pengetahuan responden mengenai daun salam dan daun jambu biji. Dengan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan, diharapkan masyarakat komplek Palapan Permai mampu mengolah daun salam dan daun jambu biji dengan tepat. Abstract. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a long-term disease condition characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus increased by 8.5%, which led to an estimated number of sufferers in Indonesia exceeding 16 million people. Each region certainly has a unique way of utilizing plants, which is different from other regions, such as bay leaves and guava leaves. The community in Palapan Permai Complex has a relatively high formal education background and a variety of livelihoods. The people of the Palapan Permai complex do not yet understand the correct use and processing of herbal medicines. Therefore, this activity aimed to provide education related to the proper processing of bay leaves and guava leaves. The design of educational activities used was descriptive quantitative with implementation using surveys and leaflet distribution. The results of educational activities have a total number of correct answers pretest of 60.50% and posttest of 98.80% which shows there is an increase in knowledge and understanding of respondents with an average correctness of 38.32 (38.30%). Therefore, educational activities carried out in Palapan Permai increased respondents' knowledge about bay leaves and guava leaves. With an increase in knowledge, it is hoped that the Palapan Permai complex community will be able to process bay leaves and guava leaves appropriately.
Peningkatan Kapasitas Siswa Smk dalam Strategi Pemasaran dan Branding Melalui Digital Marketing Di Era Ekonomi Kreatif [Enhancing Vocational High School Students' Capacity in Marketing and Branding Strategies Through Digital Marketing in the Era of Creative Economy]
Abstract. This community service program aims to enhance the entrepreneurial competence of vocational high school students, particularly in the creative industry, through the implementation of integrated marketing strategy training. The program was conducted at SMK Al-Islah Surabaya with a specialization in Visual Communication Design (DKV), as an effort to bridge the gap between technical design skills and the understanding of strategic marketing aspects. The implementation method included needs observation, material planning, a three-day interactive training, and evaluation. The materials provided included Entrepreneurship and Value Proposition, 5A Analysis, and Practice. The evaluation results indicate a significant improvement in students' understanding of marketing concepts, increased active participation in practical sessions, and the formation of an entrepreneurial mindset and an attitude of professionalism. This program demonstrates that an applicative, educational-participatory approach is effective in enhancing the readiness of vocational high school students for the workforce and encouraging early innovation in the creative industry sector. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi kewirausahaan siswa SMK, khususnya pada bidang industri kreatif, melalui implementasi pelatihan strategi pemasaran terpadu. Program ini dilaksanakan di SMK Al-Islah Surabaya dengan konsentrasi keahlian Desain Komunikasi Visual (DKV), sebagai upaya menjembatani kesenjangan antara keterampilan teknis desain dengan pemahaman aspek pemasaran strategis. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi observasi kebutuhan, perencanaan materi, pelatihan interaktif selama tiga hari, serta evaluasi. Materi yang diberikan mencakup Dasar Kewirausahaan dan Value Proposition, Analisis 5A, dan Praktik. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep pemasaran, peningkatan keterlibatan aktif dalam praktik, dan terbentuknya pola pikir kewirausahaan serta sikap profesionalisme. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan edukatifpartisipatif yang aplikatif efektif meningkatkan kesiapan siswa SMK dalam menghadapi dunia kerja dan mendorong inovasi sejak dini di sektor industri kreatif
Advokasi Kebijakan Sosial: Implementasi Kota Ramah Anak di Kota Bandung | Social Policy Advocacy: Implementation of a Child Friendly City in Bandung City
Abstrak: Salah satu upaya pemerintah daerah dalam menjamin pemenuhan dan perlindungan hak anak dilakukan melalui pembangunan Kabupaten/Kota Layak Anak. Kebijakan mengenai Kota Layak Anak (KLA) merupakan suatu sistem dalam tata kelola pembangunan dengan menggunakan landasan hak anak melalui pengintegrasian antara komitmen sumberdaya pemerintah, masyarakat dan dunia usaha secara terencana, menyeluruh, dan berkelanjutan baik dalam segi kebijkan, program, maupun kegiatannya untuk menjamin pemenuhan hak-hak anak dan menjadi bukti keseriusan pemerintah dalam melakukan perannya dengan berorientasi kepada pemberdayaan masyarakat. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Maka hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa, pelaksanaan kebijkan Kota Layak Anak yang berfokus pada program perlindungan dan penanganan korban kekerasan terhadap anak di Kota Bandung yang merupakan turunan dari kebijakan Kota Layak Anak pada klaster 5 yaitu perlindungan khusus didasarkan pada Gugus Tugas KLA yang diatur dalam Keputusan Wali Kota Bandung Nomor 463/Kep.518- DP3APM/2020 Tentang Gugus Tugas Kota Layak Anak Periode 2019-2023. Selain aktor dari Pemerintah Daerah beberapa stakeholder lain juga turut berpartisipasi dalam hal penanganan kekerasan terhadap anak di Kota Bandung hal ini untuk mengoptimalkan pelaksanaan Kota layak anak di Kota bandung dapat berjalan secara baik. Abstract: One of the regional government's efforts to ensure the fulfillment and protection of children's rights is through the development of Child Friendly Districts/Cities. The policy regarding Child Friendly Cities (KLA) is a system of development governance that uses the foundation of children's rights through integration of government, community and business resource commitments in a planned, comprehensive and sustainable manner in terms of policies, programs and activities to ensure fulfillment. children's rights and is proof of the government's seriousness in carrying out its role with an orientation towards community empowerment. The research method used in this research is a qualitative approach using data collection techniques with in-depth interviews, observation, documentation and literature study. So the results of this research explain that, the implementation of the Child Friendly City policy focuses on the protection program and handling of victims of violence against children in Bandung City which is a derivative of the Child Friendly City policy in cluster 5, namely special protection based on the KLA Task Force which is regulated in the Guardian Decree. Bandung City Number 463/Kep.518- DP3APM/2020 concerning the Child Friendly City Task Force for the 2019-2023 period. Apart from actors from the Regional Government, several other stakeholders also participated in handling violence against children in Bandung City.
