Effect of Feedback on Turkish Fourth-Grade Elementary School Students' Fluent Writing Skills

    No full text
This study aimed to investigate the effect of feedback on Turkish fourth-grade students' fluent writing skills. The subjects, which were 42 fourth-grade students (21 in the control group, 21 in the experimental group) from a public elementary school in Turkey's Ankara province, were enrolled in the present study. The Fluent Writing Evaluation Rubric, story writing topics, and a feedback form were used as data collection tools. The study was carried out in three stages and lasted eight weeks. Analysis of covariance was conducted to analyze the data obtained from the students. Posttest scores of the experimental and control groups were compared. The results revealed that the experimental groups' posttest scores were significantly higher. Suggestions are offered for implementation and further research based on the results

Buna bağlı olarak inşaat sektörünün neden olduğu çevresel tahribatın da büyük ölçüde azaltılabileceği düşünülmektedirMistakes in the way energy is produced and used cause global energy problems and adverse effects on the natural environment. Researches show that a significant portion of the energy consumed is used by the construction sector. The number of residential buildings, which are increasing day by day for increasing population and comfort needs, has a large share in the construction sector. Designing residential buildings in the context of green criteria is important in terms of decreasing global energy demand. The residences designed in recent years have become more compact with the construction of subsystems that can meet many daily needs. These mixed-use residential buildings lead to collective energy consumption and when they designed in the context of green criteria, they provide savings in great measure. In this study, it is aimed to create a guide in which mixed-use houses can form their own ecosystem in line with green criteria. In this study, it is aimed to create a guide in which mixed-use residentials can form their own ecosystem in line with green criteria. In the thesis, for evaluating mixed-use residential designs, one of the existing certification systems, the world-wide, LEED standards created by the USGBC and BEST housing certification guide created by ÇEDBIK Association in Turkey were examined as a criterion. With these two guidelines, green criteria for energy efficiency have been determined. Mixed-use projects that received at least a gold grade according to LEED certification were evaluated. As a result, it is predicted that mixed-use residential buildings designed together with energy saving strategies and green design criteria examined in the literature review can produce positive results in terms of energy efficiency. Accordingly, it is thought that environmental damage caused by the construction sector can be reduced to a great extent

Aim: The main purpose of this study is to determine the current status of long-term follow-up (LTFU) for childhood cancer survivors and the challenges of LTFU for pediatric cancer survivors at pediatric oncology institutions in Turkey. Material and methods: A questionnaire was e-mailed to the directors of 33 pediatric oncology centers (POCs) registered in the Turkish Pediatric Oncology Group (TPOG). Of these 33 active TPOG institutions, 21 participated in the study and returned their completed questionnaires. Results: Only 1 of the 21 participating centers had a separate LTFU clinic. The remaining centers provided LTFU care for childhood cancer survivors at the pediatric oncology outpatient clinic. Of these centers, 17 (80.9\%) reported difficulty in transition from the pediatric clinic to the adult clinic, 14 (66.6\%) reported insufficient care providers, and 12 (57.1\%) reported insufficient time and transportation problems. As neglected late effects, 16 (76.1\%) centers reported psychosocial and getty job problems and 11 (52.3\%) reported sexual and cognitive problems. None of the centers had their own LTFU guidelines for their daily LTFU practice. Conclusion: This study was the first to gain an overview of the needs of POCs and the gaps in survivorship services in Turkey. The results from this study will help to develop a national health care system and national guidelines for pediatric cancer survivors

Fitocoğrafik bölgelere göre taksonların 47’si İran-Turan elementi (%13,6), 18’i Akdeniz ve Doğu Akdeniz elementi (%5,2), 34’ü Avrupa-Sibirya elementi (%9,9), 245’i çok bölgeli ve bölgesi belirlenemeyen (%71,2) şeklidedirThis investigation has been done on the region which is located on 20-35 km east of Kızılcahamam district northwest of Ankara. 735 plant specimens were collected from the area during April 2012-August 2014 and summer of 2017. Identification of the specimens revealed the presence of 344 taxa belonging to 205 genera in 53 families. A total of 33 (9,6%) taxa are endemic to Turkey. The distrubition ratios of the taxa into the phytogeographical regions are as follows: Iran-Turanian elements are 47 (13,6%); Mediterranean 18 (5,2%) and Euro–Siberian 34 (9,9%). Multiregional and others which their regions unclarified are 245 (71,2%)
