Buradan hareketle, Kültürel Çalışmalar geleneğinden gelen okuyucu-izleyici araştırması temel alınmakta ve bu yaklaşım içerisinden Stuart Hall’un kodlama-kodaçımı modeli, çalışma için ana referans kaynağını oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma dâhilinde benzer demografik özelliklere sahip 10 kadın katılımcıya, kadın istihdamını temel alan üç farklı reklam filmi izletilmiş ve daha sonra bu katılımcılarla derinlemesine
görüşmeler yapılarak bir alımlama analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; çalışma grubu içerisinde yer alan kadınların büyük bir kısmının kadın istihdamının reklam filmlerindeki temsiline dair genel olarak ortak kod açımlama yaptıkları ve bu reklam filmlerine ilişkin “baskın-hegemonik” okuma
gerçekleştirdikleri ortaya çıkmıştır.This research aim to determine the cognitive effects of commercials based on women's employment in the media and to reveal how these commercials are perceived by women. Departing from this point of view, the reader-audience research based on the Cultural Studies tradition is applied. Stuart Hall's codingdecoding model within this approach constitutes the main reference source for the study.Within the scope of the research, 10 female participants with similar demographic characteristics were shown three different commercials based on women's employment, and then a reception analysis was carried out by conducting in-depth interviews with these participants.Results revealed that most of the women in the working group made common decoding of the representation of women's employment in commercials and they made a "dominant-hegemonic" reading of these commercials
Investigation of the perceptual and cognitive asymmetry in the auditory system in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis
Get PDFBackground: Studies have shown that perceptual and cognitive asymmetries are present in the auditory system in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). The Dichotic Listening (DL) paradigm was formerly performed in non-forced (NF) conditions only, and no study has examined the conditions of attention to one ear. Objective: To investigate the perceptual and cognitive asymmetry in the auditory system in patients with AIS as well as the asymmetry changes according to the curvature characteristics of patients with AIS. Method: The DL paradigm was performed on 38 patients with AIS and 10 healthy individuals in all conditions (NF, Forced Right [FR], Forced Left [FL]). Results: In the NF and FL conditions, the mean number of correct responses for the left ear was significantly lower in patients with AIS than in healthy individuals (p 0.05). Also, there was no difference between patients with AIS with both functional 3-curve and 4-curve (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Our study indicates perceptual and cognitive asymmetry or lateralisation in the auditory system in patients with AIS. The asymmetry might be caused by the inability to direct their attention to the left ear, which is not affected by their curvature type. Further studies are needed to investigate perceptual and cognitive asymmetry behaviour models in the auditory system in patients with AIS. Clinical implications: Determination of perceptual and cognitive asymmetry in the auditory system may offer a new perspective on conservative treatment protocols for AIS patients. Besides, the DL paradigm can be easily used in patients with AIS as a non-invasive evaluation method in clinics. © 2021. The Authors. Licensee: AOSIS
An Empirical investigation on the relationship between The Eurozone zew index and The Eurozone stock markets
Get PDFThe aim of this study is to investigate the long and short term impact of the Euro ZEW index (ZEW) on the DAX (GDAXI) Germany, FTSE 100 (FTSE) the UK, CAC 40 (FCHI) France, OMXS30 Sweden and CROBEX (CRBEX) Croatia stock market indices using monthly data for the period between February 2008 and December 2020. The Euro ZEW Index was taken as the independent variable, and the index values of Eurozone stock markets were taken as the dependent variables. As a result of the study, the Euro ZEW index was found to have a positive (increasing) statistical significant effect on the DAX, FTSE, OMXS and CRBEX variables. Of the stock markets studied, Croatia CROBEX (CRBEX) index was the most affected index by the change in the Euro ZEW index. The least affected stock market was Germany DAX (GDAXI) index. The effect of the Euro ZEW Index on Euro stock markets was higher in the short-term, and gradually decreasing in the long term. Analysis of public service announcements published regarding the covid-19 pandemic process by semiotic method
Get PDF2019 yılının son aylarında Çin’in Hubei eyaletinin Vuhan şehrinde ortaya çıktığı bilinen Covid-19 (Coronavirüs) hastalığı, 2020’den itibaren tüm dünyayı etkisi altına almıştır. Söz konusu hastalığın yayılma evresinin ilk zamanlarında, virüsten korunma yollarına ilişkin bilgi karmaşası yaşanmıştır. Özellikle Türkiye’de, maske takıp takmama ikilemi, eldivenin işe yarayıp yaramadığı gibi pek çok sorunsal hem medyada hem de sosyal alanlarda sıklıkla tartışma konusu olmuştur. Bunun üzerine, T.C. Sağlık Bakanlığı, halkın bilgilenmesini sağlayarak farkındalık yaratmak amacıyla resmi internet sitesinde ve çeşitli medya kanallarında Covid-19 hastalığını kapsayan kamu spotları yayınlamıştır. Kamu spotu; kamuya fayda sağlamak amacıyla oluşturulan bilgilendirici ve eğitici nitelikteki film ve seslerdir. Çalışmada, T.C. Sağlık Bakanlığı’nın Covid-19 hastalığına ilişkin resmi internet sitesinde yayınladığı kamu spotlarının göstergebilimsel yöntem temelinde analiz edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu kamu spotları, göstergebilim alanında yaptığı çalışmalarla bilinen Roland Barthes’ın, anlatıların temelindeki yapıyı ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla geliştirdiği beş farklı gösterge sistemi (Enigmatik Kod, Yananlamsal Kod, Eylemsel Kod, Sembolik Kod, Kültürel Kod) temel alınarak incelenmiştir. Ele alınan kamu spotlarında yer alan göstergelerden hareketle, Barthes’ın ortaya çıkardığı kod sistemlerinin, metnin anlamını güçlendirdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.The Covid-19 (Coronavirus) disease, which is known to have emerged in the city of Wuhan in the Hubei province of China in the last months of 2019, has affected the whole world since 2020. In the early stages of the spread of the disease in question, there was a confusion of information regarding the ways of protection from the virus. Especially in Turkey, the dilemma of whether to wear a mask or not, and whether gloves work or not have been the subject of discussion both in the media and in social areas. On top of that, the Ministry of Health has broadcast public service announcements covering the Covid-19 disease on its official website and various media channels in order to inform the public and raise awareness. Public service announcement; are informative and educational films and sounds created to benefit the public. The study, it is aimed to analyze the publicservice announcements published on the official website of the Ministry of Health regarding the Covid-19 disease on the basis of semiotic theory. These publicservice announcements were analyzed based on five different sign systems (The Hermeneutic Code, The Semic Code, The Proairetic Code, The Symbolic Code, The Cultural Code) developed by Roland Barthes, who is known for his work in semiotics, in order to reveal the underlying structure of narratives. Based on the indicators in the public service announcements, it was concluded that the code systems created by Barthes strengthen the meaning of the text

Purpose of the Study: In terms of realization probability in the "Global Risks 2020" report of the World Economic Forum, five of the top ten global risks are related to climate change and its events. According to the impact of the risks, six of the top ten risks are associated with climate change. In addition to the economic dimension of these risks, it is necessary to examine the health dimension of the affected creatures and to plan the economic burden of these health effects. Araştırmada veriler, Hasta Tanıtım Formu, Sözel Kategori Ölçeği (SKÖ) ve Görsel Kıyaslama Ölçeği (GKÖ) formları ile toplandı.Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of lavender aromatherapy on pain during vascular access in haemodialysis patients. No full textMillions of tons of temperature-sensitive products are handled by leveraging the cold chain logistics from the point of production to the point of consumption. Cold chain, an important sub-branch of logistics, is a field which allows for the maintenance of the right quality throughout the supply chain and entails special expertise and precision for its management. The operational process becomes increasingly important in delivering products to consumers without any break in the cold chain. The pharmaceutical industry, which places human health at the forefront, includes specific products that require the cold chain logistics process, and entails special equipment and skilled staff to maintain the quality and effectiveness of such products without any break in the logistics process. Considering from the manufacturer's perspective, a potential break in the chain means loss of revenue and reputation, in other words, customer loss. The study is intended to determine the major risks that may arise in all processes related to drugs (insulins, vaccines, etc.) from the raw material to the consumer within the cold chain management, and to suggest technological and practical solutions to mitigate any potential risks and improve the existing conditions. To provide an understanding of storage conditions, particularly of solutions both at retail and customer levels, a survey was conducted with pharmacists and solution suggestions were presented with the descriptive findings assessed
The Hero myth in post-apocalyptic films: The Sample of the Snowpiercer film
No full textSalman, Semih (�zmir Kavram Meslek Y�ksekokulu)Bilimkurgu sinemasında alt tür olarak öne çıkan post-apokaliptik filmler, kıyamet sonrası değişen toplumsal düzeni ve yaşam mücadelesini ele almaktadır. Söz konusu filmlerde, nükleer savaş, ekolojik sistemin bozulması ve çeşitli virüslerin ortaya çıkması gibi konulara yer verilmektedir. Post-apokaliptik türde, toplumsal düzenin bozulmasıyla birlikte birtakım kahramanlık mitleri yaratılır. Bu kahramanlar halkın arasından seçilerek, toplumu yeniden refah seviyesine ulaştırmayı hedeflemektedirler. Post-apokaliptik türü temsil eden Snowpiercer filminde de kahraman mitinin belirgin bir biçimde öne çıktığı ve anlatı yapısında önem taşıdığı görülmektedir. Çalışmada, Joseph Campbell’ın The Hero With A Thousand Faces (Kahramanın Sonsuz Yolculuğu, 1949) adlı kitabında yer alan monomit teorisinden hareketle Snowpiercer filmindeki kahraman mitinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Campbell, kahramanın
macerasını monomit kuramı çerçevesinde ele alarak, bu süreci “Yola Çıkış, Erginleme ve Dönüş” olarak üç ayrı aşamada inceler. Nitekim Snowpiercer filminde kahramanlık görevini üstlenen Curtis karakteri, çalışmanın yöntemini belirleyen monomit kuramı çerçevesinde ayrıntılı bir şekilde analiz edilmiştir.Post-apocalyptic films, which come to the forefront as a sub-genre in science fiction cinema, deal with the changing social order and struggle for life after the apocalypse. In these films, subjects such as nuclear war, ecological system deterioration, and the emergence of various viruses are covered. In the post-apocalyptic genre, a number of heroic myths are created with the disruption of the social order. These heroes are chosen from among the people and aim to bring society to the level of welfare again. In the film Snowpiercer, which represents the post-apocalyptic genre, it is seen that the myth of the hero comes to the forefront and has an importance in the narrative structure. This study, it is aimed to examine the hero myth in Snowpiercer, based on the monomyth theory in Joseph Campbell's book The Hero With A Thousand Faces (1949). Campbell examines the adventure of the hero within the framework of the monomyth theory, and examines this process in three separate stages as “Departure, Initiation and Return”. As a matter of fact, Curtis character, who took on the role of hero in the film Snowpiercer, has been analyzed in detail within the framework of the monomyth theory that determines the method of the study
