Tablet weaving of Anamur district bahşiş villages
Anamur Bahsis village is a region that lives and reflects the nomad culture. The existence of weaving, an important branch of handicraft in the region, dates back to the past. Tablet weaving, one of the weaving varieties, is widely made and used in the region. The girdle, which is used in the region in transportation and transportation, in tying children to the back or cradle, in animal husbandry, in the transportation of loads, in the field of clothing and accessories, in the materials used in funerals and in many other areas, helps to meet the needs of the local people. In tablet weaving, tools consisting of two rods (looms), doretree, power rod, sword and rope are used. The ropes used in weaving are obtained from goat hair and sheep's wool. In general, wool rope is used and red, henna yellow, yellow, white, black, green and purple colors are preferred. In the region, the ropes are dyed with chemical dyes and the dyeing of the ropes is usually done for a certain fee by the person called the painter in the Barcin plateau, which is usually migrated in the summer months. In the study region, 31 tablet weaving and one girth weaving were detected. 10 of these examples have the same motif and pattern characteristics as the other examples. Therefore, these ten examples were not included in the scope of the study. In the tablet weaving samples evaluated in the study; there are different designs such as bowhead, snakehead, bead, ram horn, truffle tooth, baklava slice, three powers, knife, water. The examples of tablet weaving identified in the region are the weavings made in the past and today, pure and simple girth are made by few people for suddenly developing needs. The new generation is not interested in this art, and the age of industry and technology postpones this art. In addition, local women are engaged in agriculture as well as animal husbandry and devote the rest of their time to housework. Women who are constantly on the move meet their need for tablet from ready-made products they buy and from the tablet that used to be touched. All these reasons reduce the number of original girdle weaving samples in the region. The aim of the study is to examine the decreasing number of tablet in the region, to determine the current situation, to determine the tools and materials used in the construction, the technique applied in the tablet weavings, the areas of use of the girths, the color, motif and pattern characteristics. In addition, the fact that there is no study in the field related to the belt weaving in the study region shows the importance of this study. The data used in the study were collected by mutual interview method in the region after a literature review on the subject

Bioarcheological detection and socio-cultural approach of anemia in MTR (Sinop-Kefevi) population
Anthropology, in general, evaluates people in many aspects. The skeletal structure, which is the strongest structure of the body that keeps the human alive, contains a lot of information about how the life he lived during the period he lived. As it is known, since the bones have been preserved until today, this provides us with important information about the societies that lived in the past. The palaeopathological examination of the skeletons uncovered can reveal the health structures of the societies in the period, whether they were exposed to different diseases, as well as whether there was an epidemic disease and possible causes of death of individuals. Researches show us the way to get an idea about the period. One of the diseases reflected on the bone is anemia. This disease, which shows its presence on the bone as an indicator of anemia, is revealed by three different methods; Cribra Orbitalia appears as small holes in the roof of the eye, and the presence of anemia can be determined based on Protic Hyperostosis formed in the skull and Diploe Thickening in the skull. In this study, it consists of skeletons unearthed from the Kefevi necropolis neighborhood of Sinop, located in the North of Anatolian geography. As a result of the excavations carried out in the city center of Sinop in 2016, 108 individuals, including 30 female individuals, 41 male individuals, 25 children, 6 adolescents and 6 infants, were examined. Different palepathological diseases were examined on these skeletons. In these studies, Cribra Orbitalia, Protic Hyperostosis and Diploe Thickenings on the skull were examined for the detection of anemia, which is the subject of the thesis. As a result of the results, comparisons were made with the rates of these diseases in Anatolian societies. As a result of these studies, Cribra Orbitalia and Diploe Thickening was calculated as 27.80% (30/108), while Protic Hyperostosis was calculated as 50.92% (55/108) in the Byzantine Period Kefevi Necropolis individuals. The socio-cultural structure of the Sinop Kefevi ancient society and its nutritional patterns were revealed

Investigation of element content of some endemic medicinal aromatic plants
Bu çalışmada bazı endemik Tıbbi Aromatik bitkilerin içerdikleri element düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve elde edilen sonuçların Ulusal ve Uluslararası standartlarla karşılaştırılması ve insan sağlığı açısından riskinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada Moritanya'da aktarlardan satın alınan Acacia senegal L. Willd (Arap zamkı), Psoralea plicata, Acacia nilotica L. Willd (Dikenli akasya), Hordeum vulgare L. (Arpa), Senna alexandrina (Sinameki), Balanites aegyptiaca L. Delile. (Çöl hurması) Tamarindus indica L (Demir hindi), Maytenus Senegalensis bitkilerinin, makro mineral (Ca ve Mg), eser element (Zn, Cu, Mn ve Fe) ve ultra eser element (Al, Pb, Cr, Co, Cd ve Ni) tayinleri yapılmıştır. tayinleri yapılmıştır. Bitki örneklerini çözmek için optimize edilen şartlar altında mikrodalga çözünürleştirme yöntemi uygulamıştır. Bitki örneklerindeki mineral ve eser elementlerin tayinlerinde Yüksek Çözünürlüklü Sürekli Işın Kaynaklı Alevli Atomik Absorpsiyon Spektrometresi (HR CS-FAAS) kullanılmıştır. Yöntemin doğruluğu, standart referans madde NIST SRM 1570a (Trace Elements in Spinach Leaves) kullanılarak sınanmıştır. This study aimed to determine the metal levels of some endemic medicinal aromatic plants and compared the results obtained with National and International standards and to evaluate the risk of human health. In this study, we purchased the following herbs from herbalists in Mauritania Acacia Senegal L. Willd, Psoralea plicata, Acacia nilotica L. Willd, Hordeum vulgare L., Senna alexandrina, Balanites aegyptiaca L. Delile, Tamarindus indica L., Maytenus senegalensis, macro mineral (Ca and Mg), trace (Zn, Cu, Mn and Fe), and an ultra-trace element (Al, Pb, Cr, Co, Cd ve Ni) determinations of endemic medicinal plants were determination. The microwave digestion system was applied under optimized conditions to dissolve plant samples. The minerals and trace elements in plant samples were determined using a High Resolution Continuum Source Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (HR CS-FAAS). The accuracy of the method was tested using the standard reference material NIST SRM 1570a (Trace Elements in Spinach Leaves). The relative error between the certified values and the results obtained was determined to be less than 5%. We found element levels in investigating medicinal plants in the ranges: (0,51-16,13 mg g-1) for Ca, (2,63–6.49 mg g-1) for Mg, (11,2–200,8 ?g g-1) for Al, (6,5–28,2 ?g g-1) for Zn, (5,6–453,1 ?g g-1) for Fe, (1,1–6,4 ?g g-1) for Ni, (11,0–301,5 ?g g-1) for Mn, (0,7–9,0 ?g g-1) for Cu. Cr, Pb, Cd and Co levels were below the detection limit in all samples. Estimated Weekly Intake Level (EWI) and Target Hazard Ratio (THQ) were calculated by comparing element levels in plant species with National and International standards. It has been determined that the EWI values for the elements studied are lower than the Tolerable Weekly Intake Amounts (PTWI) values. THQ values were calculated less than 1 (excluding Al element). Thus, it has been decided that if the analyzed plant species are consumed, the probability of non-cancer health problems will be low for the consumer
Masseter Muscle Thickness And Elasticity in Bruxism After Exercise Treatment: A Comparison Trial
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of Rocabado's 6 × 6 exercises on masseter muscle thickness, muscle elasticity, and pain scores in patients with bruxism. Methods: A total of 58 participants with bruxism were divided into 2 groups as the exercise group (EG) and control group (CG). A self-care program was applied for the participants in the CG. For those in the EG, in addition to the self-care program, an exercise treatment was performed for 6 days per week for a total of 8 weeks. Using ultrasonography, bilateral masseter muscle thickness and elasticity were assessed before and after treatment. Pain was measured using a visual analog scale. Changes over time within the groups and group–time interactions for continuous variables were assessed using mixed 2-way repeated measures analysis of variance. Results: The improvement in muscle elasticity (P =.015; P =.004) and pain values (P =.049; P =.040) were greater in the EG compared with the CG. There was no significant difference between the 2 groups for masseter muscle thickness (P >.05). Conclusion: This study suggests that Rocabado's 6 × 6 exercises are effective in the treatment of muscle elasticity and pain values in participants with bruxism. © 202
Gait speed predictors and gait-speed cut-off score to discriminate asthma control status and physical activity in patients with asthma
Introduction: As a “vital sign” of health and functional capacity, gait speed is commonly used. However, there is insufficient evidence for possible determinants of gait speed in patients with asthma. The primary objective of the present study was to determine predictors of gait speed in patients with asthma. The second objective was to determine the cut-off point for the 4-minute Gait Speed (4MGS) to better discriminate asthma control status and physical activity in asthma. Material and methods: Fifty-seven patients with asthma were included in this cross-sectional study. Demographic and clinic characteristics, pulmonary function, asthma control status (ACT, Asthma Control Test), dyspnea, gait speed (4MGS), physical activity [International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF)] and activities of daily living were evaluated. Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis was used to investigate the possible predictors of gait speed. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to determine whether usual gait speed had a discriminative value. Results: The stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that the ACT score and the IPAQ-SF score were significant and independent predictors of the 4MGS in patients with asthma explaining 40% of the variance in 4MGS (p < 0.001). The ROC curve showed a cut-off point of 1.06 m/s for the 4MGS for poorly controlled asthma and physical inactivity (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Our findings indicate that asthma control status and physical activity can be independent predictors of gait speed in patients with asthma. In addition, gait speed may be discriminative to determine poorly controlled asthma and physical inactivity in patients with asthma. © 2022 PTChP

Comparison of Radial Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy and Local Corticosteroid Injection Effectiveness in Patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: A Randomized Controlled Study
Objective The aim of the study was to compare the effectiveness of radial extracorporeal shock wave therapy and local corticosteroid injection on pain, function, and nerve conduction studies in the treatment of idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome. Design A total of 72 patients who were diagnosed as having carpal tunnel syndrome were included in the study. The radial extracorporeal shock wave therapy group received radial extracorporeal shock wave therapy, the local corticosteroid injection group received local corticosteroid injection, and the control group only used a resting hand splint. The patients were evaluated using a Visual Analog Scale-pain, a Visual Analog Scale-numbness, the Boston Symptom Severity Scale, the Boston Functional Status Scale, and handgrip strength tests before treatment 1 and 12 wks after the treatment. Results Both clinical and nerve conduction study parameters improved with all three groups, and this effect continued at the 12th-week follow-up of the patients. The Visual Analog Scale-pain, Visual Analog Scale-numbness, Boston Symptom Severity Scale, and Boston Functional Status Scale scores in the first week after the treatment, as well as Visual Analog Scale-pain and Boston Functional Status Scale scores in the 12th week after the treatment, were significantly lower in the local corticosteroid injection group compared with the other two groups. Conclusions Our study revealed the success of radial extracorporeal shock wave therapy, splint, and local corticosteroid injection, but symptom relief was greater in the first week and 12th week with local corticosteroid injection. © Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. Bacterial pathogens from Diprion pini L. (Hymenoptera: Diprionidae) and their biocontrol potential
Microbial insecticides have become increasingly important in recent years for the control of insect pests. Among microbial insecticides, insect pathogenic bacteria and their toxins have been the most commercially successful and hold potential for further development. In this study, we investigated the isolation and identification of some potential pathogenic bacteria from Diprion pini L. (Hymenoptera: Diprionidae) which is a serious pest of pine forests worldwide. A total of eighteen bacteria were isolated, ten bacteria from dead D. pini larvae and eight bacteria from healthy larvae. The bacterial strains were characterized by their morphological features, 16 S rRNA gene sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. In addition, these bacteria and four Bacillus thuringiensis strains (isolated from pine forest soil) were tested against D. pini larvae under laboratory conditions. The bacterial isolates were identified as Kluyvera intermedia O-1, O-8, O-10 and S-3, Proteus mirabilis O-2, Klebsiella oxytoca O-3, Bacillus sp. O-4, Pantoea agglomerans O-5 and S-5, Serratia marcescens O-6, Pseudomonas sp. O-7, Acinetobacter sp. O-9, Enterobacter sp. S-1 and S-9, Bacillus pumilus S-2, Enterobacter cancerogenus S-4, Pseudoclavibacter sp. S-6 and Arthrobacter sp. S-8. All isolates showed different insecticidal activity against the pest and the highest mortality was obtained from P. mirabilis O-2 with 100% within ten days after exposure. The highest mortality among B. thuringiensis strains was obtained from B. thuringiensis 37 - 4 with 56.67%. This is the first study of determination of the culturable bacterial diversity within D. pini and the obtained results might be beneficial for biocontrol of D. pini.Microbial insecticides have become increasingly important in recent years for the control of insect pests.
