Diagnosis of financial difficulties in business /

    No full text
In today’s rapidly changing economic and financial market conditions, the goal of every entrepreneur is to remain stable and profitable. However, when operating in modern conditions, everyone faces certain financial difficulties. Therefore, in order to ensure the continuity of operations, maintain profitability and stability, managers need to constantly monitor ongoing processes, study financial indicators that would allow timely identification of the causes of emerging financial difficulties and help make adequate, correct decisions to eliminate them. The conducted researches are usually aimed at the diagnosis of bankruptcy, insolvency, financial exhaustion or financial difficulties, which is relevant for certain target groups, e.g. for organizations organizing leisure services, leasing companies, small and medium-sized companies, etc. For this reason, it is difficult to adapt the created models to another group of organizations, for example, entities conducting business in the manufacturing industry, since this activity is very specific. In scientific literature Stoškaus, Beržinskienės, Virbickaitės (2007), Dinterman, Katchova, Harris (2017), Tamošaitienės, Juškevičienės, Kriščiukaitienės, Galnaitytės (2010), Sun, Li, Zhang (2009), Mackevičiaus, Silvanavičiūtės (2006), Zinkevičiūtės (2011), Jocytės (2012), Budrikienės, Paliulytės (2012), Trušakova (2010), Jakimuk, Žigienė (2011), Grigaravičius (2002), Charitou, Neophytou, Charalambous (2004), Hu, Sathye (2015) et al. a number of problems of diagnosing financial difficulties are presented, such as: what indicators signal impending financial difficulties; which model for diagnosing financial difficulties is the most reliable for certain economic activities; which indicators to include in the model, and which statistical or artificial intelligence model to apply. Research problem – the analysis of the scientific literature allows us to say that researchers pay a lot of attention to the analysis and improvement of models for diagnosing financial difficulties and bankruptcy, but which model for diagnosing financial difficulties is the most suitable for entrepreneurs engaged in tourism and economic activities? The object of the study is the diagnosis of financial difficulties in a theoretical aspect. The purpose of the study is to determine the diagnosis of financial difficulties for those running a business after analyzing the factors that lead to the concept of financial difficulties. Research tasks: To examine the interpretations of the concept of financial difficulties used in scientific literature; Introduce the conditioning factors. Research methods: logical and comparative analysis and synthesis of scientific, periodical, normative, legislative and methodological literature, as well as graphic representation, statistical analysis of quantitative data

Relevance of the topic. In recent years, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional education system, including various non-formal education activities, has faced enormous challenges and problems. This pandemic not only claimed millions of lives, but also affected people's daily lives and lifestyles. Most of the economic sectors in Lithuania also encountered various problems. Education, which traditionally carried out educational activities in physical environments, was not an exception and faced the sudden and strict closure of all institutions. In this situation, the application of technology and digital learning practices became the main solutions that helped to ensure the continuity of education and training, including non-formal ones (González, Bonal, 2021). Unfortunately, this decision had a particularly painful impact on organized sports for children and youth (Reece et. al., 2020). This area, of course, faced an even greater challenge than other, more theoretical, subjects, since sport, being a physical, practical and interactive activity, is not easily and simply transferred to an online environment (Iuliano et al., 2021). The problem. The idea of the problem has been increased by the fact that direct social interaction between the coach and the athlete is considered an essential condition in order to supervise the actions performed by the athletes and to ensure the high-quality implementation of the sports program (Emery & Tyreman, 2009). In the context of the pandemic, researchers began to emphasize the changed organization and execution of sports activities (Ratten, 2020; Escamilla-Fajardo et al., 2020), but there is still a lack of research-based data on the characteristics of these activities. In Lithuania, this topic has so far been little studied in the context of school sports. And although the sports activities implemented in sports schools, as state educational institutions, are regulated by the legislation of the Republic of Lithuania and the orders and instructions of the Ministry of Science, Education, Science and Sports, there is no data in the scientific literature about how informal sports education programs were implemented in them during the COVID-19 pandemic? The purpose of the study: To highlight the challenges of non-formal sports education during the Covid-19 pandemic. Research object: Challenges of informal sports education. The results. Research data revealed that the sports activities organized and carried out in sports schools during the COVID-19 pandemic had certain characteristics associated with the challenges experienced by coaches as providers of non-formal sports education programs and the challenges experienced by schoolchildren participating in sports. During the pandemic, the decrease in the motivation of young athletes to play sports, their inability to fulfill the training conditions and the negative influence of the environment in which they train on sports activities became apparent. The coaches, adapting to the changed conditions, were led to search for additional information, invest their own funds in the training process, understand the peculiarities of conducting training remotely, demonstrate their ingenuity while conducting classes, and constantly raise the motivation of athletes. However, when faced with these obstacles, they did not avoid ignoring the existing rules for the organization of sports activities. Keywords: sustainable environment, sports, nature, problems

Determining positive behavioral skills in different age groups of young basketball players during the pandemic /

Assessing psychological indicators such as positive behavioral skills in the context of adolescent personality development during the pandemic era is highly relevant: the growing problem of peer disrespect among adolescents who participate in sports has recently become an undeniable scientific issue. This study aimed to analyze positive behavioral skills in the cadet (U16) and junior (U18) age groups of young basketball players during the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants were 378 male athletes (age 16.36 ± 1.15 years). Results revealed that U18 athletes are more capable of taking responsibility, positively evaluating themselves, behaving pro-socially with teammates, cooperating, demonstrating assertiveness, demonstrating self-control, and managing emotions than U16 adolescent athletes. When comparing the effect sizes in the current study during the pandemic with similar studies by other authors, the pandemic may have had a larger negative effect on some positive behavioral skills (ability to control emotions, social responsibility skills, cooperation skills) in U16 athletes than in U18 athletes, as the effect sizes were small before the pandemic and moderate during the pandemic in the current study. This study’s results may be useful for developing and implementing a young athletes’ education program based on a comprehensive model of positive behavioral skills that include the indicators analyzed

The purpose of the research paper is to highlight the development, changes, and results that occurred in Venezuela’s regional integration during President Nicolas Maduro’s first term of office (2013-2018). The novelty of the research paper is in a comprehensive analysis of Venezuela’s regional policy within the framework of the leading integration associations ALBA, CELAC, and UNASUR, which, according to Hugo Chavez’s plan, were supposed to turn the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela into a regional leader in Latin America. Instead, N. Maduro was unable to take advantage of his predecessor’s foreign policy successes and lost the opportunities he had planned. Conclusions. Taking into consideration the theoretical and ideological foundations of Venezuela’s foreign policy, the conclusion can be made that the regional vector of foreign policy has remained one of the focal points for President Nicolas Maduro. Thanks to its resources and ideological dominance, the country could rightfully claim regional leadership, as it united the countries of the region on the wave of anti-Americanism, initiated many integration movements, and made most countries in the region dependent on its energy supplies and credits. ‘Pockets of resistance’ to US expansion in Latin America and regional integration were concentrated in three organizations where Venezuela was one of the founders or key players: ALBA, CELAC, and UNASUR. The economic and political crisis that hit Venezuela sharply raised the question of the continuity of the ‘Bolivarian Project’, which affected the change in the state’s priorities, including in the international arena. N. Maduro had to focus on the country’s internal problems. In the regional integration policy of Venezuela during N. Maduro’s first term of office, we can distinguish two qualitative periods: 1. 2013-2015, the time of relatively successful implementation of the regional integration course, and, 2. 2016-2018, the decline and actual collapse of the regional vector of Venezuela’s foreign policy. It was just the loss of democratic tendencies in Maduro’s domestic policy that led to the loss of regional leadership and global stature. The three integration projects analyzed by the authors started losing their credibility and effectiveness during 2013-2018, which happened mostly due to the crisis in Venezuela. CELAC and UNASUR de facto ceased their activities, and ALBA remained the only instrument of N. Maduro’s regional influence

Research purpose. To determine the effect of functional, mobility and aerobic exercises on cardiovascular system and other physical properties in working-age people. Hypothesis. Functional, mobility and aerobic exercises have a positive effect on cardiovascular system, muscle strength and joint mobility for working-age people, because they stabilize blood pressure, increase muscle strength, endurance, improve joint range of motion. Research methods. Analysis of scientific literature, physical fitness tests, mathematical statistics. Results. Research found a statistically significant difference in mobility after functional, mobility and aerobic exercises for working-age people. Mobility has improved after evaluating right-left hand finger touching behind the back and left-right hand finger touching behind the back. Functional and mobility exercises combined with aerobic exercises effectively improve the mobility, joint range of motion, endurance of working-age people. Low physical activity has a negative impact on cardiovascular system, body composition, joint mobility, blood circulation and range of motion. Conclusion. 1. After 8 weeks of functional, mobility and aerobic exercises the volume of hips has significantly decreased, but the overall body mass didn’t change. 2. After 8 weeks of functional, mobility and aerobic exercises the pulse during physical activity has significantly increased. 3. Functional, mobility and aerobic exercises had a positive impact on the strength of the right hand, but didn’t improve the results of the left hand. 4. After 8 weeks of functional, mobility and aerobic exercises the mobility of the lower part of the body has significantly improved, but it didn’t have an impact on the upper part of the body

    No full text
    (1) Background: The majority of studies analyzing associations between burnout, gender, and perceived stress have utilized a cross-sectional design. This present longitudinal study investigated associations between burnout, perceived stress, and gender compared during the pre-pandemic Coronavirus and post-pandemic period among Lithuanian university coaches. (2) Methods: 214 university coaches were randomly selected for the study. Study participants completed two measurements: one pre-pandemic and the second post-pandemic. (3) Results: Gender differences were identified on all burnout elements but not on perceived stress. Repeated measures (RM) multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) results did not show a significant effect for the interaction between gender and time. Results of hierarchical (stepwise) regression analyses revealed that perceived stress after the pandemic predicted burnout levels for all three burnout components (exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced accomplishment) after the pandemic. (4) Conclusions: The current study contributes to the understanding of burnout components in relation to perceived stress through a longitudinal approach using a representative sample of Lithuanian university coaches

Background:Neck pain is a common musculoskeletal issue affecting people worldwide, and manipulative therapy is implemented as a treatment for it.Aim:To analyse the effects of different manipulative therapy techniques on pain intensity, sensi-tivity and function in patients with neck pain.Methods. Studies between 2012 and April 2022 were selected to investigate the effectiveness of manipulative therapy on neck pain, function and disability. The databases PubMed ®, CNKI, Sci-ence Direct, Springer LINK, ResearchGate, Semantic Scholar, Taylor & Francis Online and Google Scholar were utilised. The selection criteria included studies involving human subjects with neck musculoskeletal pain, focusing on the effects of manipulative therapy on neck pain management and function.Results:10studies with 573 subjects were included. Strong evidence supported that manipulative therapy was effective in reducing pain and increasing the pain threshold and the function of the neck. A significant (p<0.05) positive effect was reported by 100% of studies that implemented the above parameters. Moderate evidence showed that manipulative therapy was effective in the management of the disability of the neck. The ratio of positive effect was 66.66% among involved studies with very significant results (p<0.01). Moderate evidence with a limited amount of study showed a signifi-cant increase in muscle strength after manipulative therapy (p<0.05).Conclusions. Manipulative therapy is effective in reducing neck pain intensity and sensitivity as well as improving neck function and reducing disability. The combined application of manipulative therapy is always more effective than the isolated application of manipulative therapy on patients with neck pain

The purpose of the research is to study the basic principles of functioning of the social sphere as an object of management. The object of research is the social sphere in terms of the problems of its management. The article uses the following research methods: analysis of literary sources, abstraction, graphical method, method of deduction, methods of systematization and generalization. As a result, a scheme of the social sphere as an object of management has been formed, the basis of which should be the concept of social cohesion. The study concludes that by adopting an accountability framework, a social reporting taxonomy, and more participatory business and governance models, Ukraine can contribute to the structural transformation of its current economic model with its persistent problems and accelerate the transition to a more inclusive, sustainable future. To this end, it is proposed to change the concept to accept the social sphere as an object of governance, namely to expand its understanding through the complexity of the elements covered by the social sphere, which include three main areas: basic human needs, the foundations of well-being and opportunities

Research problem. The Euroleague is the largest and most competitive basketball league in Europe, but there is very little research examining success in this competition. There is also a lack of research that examines the differences in indicators between men's and women's basketball teams in the Euroleague tournament. Aim. To determine and evaluate the differences in the competitive performance of Euroleague men's and women's basketball teams. Objectives: 1. To determine and evaluate the differences in the competitive performance of Euroleague men's and women's basketball teams in closed games; 2. To determine and evaluate the differences in the competitive performance of Euroleague men's and women's basketball teams in won and lost games. Hypothesis. It is hypothesized that most competitive performance indicators will be better for men's basketball teams than for women's basketball teams due to physiological differences and different athletic training data. Research methods. Match-related statistical performance indicators of the teams (n=16) were recorded. Analyzed team matches (n=452) of the Euroleague tournament: men (n=325) and women (n=127). The method of statistical analysis was applied in order to determine the arithmetic averages and standard deviation of the competitive performance indicators of Euroleague men's and women's teams. Applying the Student's t test for independent samples, the significance level of the differences in means was determined (p < 0.05) using the MS Excel statistical package. Main findings. Men's teams score significantly more points than women's teams (77.6 vs. 70.6), make three-point shots (24.8 vs. 20.2), fouls more often (19.7 vs. 17.2) and makes two-point shots more accurately (53.9% vs. 46.6%). Women's teams make more two-pointers (46.6 vs. 37.4), rebounds (37.3 vs. 32.8), steals (8.1 vs. 6.4) and the number of errors (15.2 vs. 12.4). Conclusions. Differences between men's and women's teams when playing in the Euroleague tournament, it is reflected in the skills and accuracy of shots to the basket. Men's and women's teams had only a few statistical differences in competitive performance. Although it was expected that the men's teams would perform better during the competition, especially due to the different athletic training data, the women's teams were superior in some categories of game performance (fewer personal fouls, more steals and rebounds)

Intelligence as a determining trend of human development and historical stages of its rational reconstruction.

The article is devoted to the study of the defining trend in the structure of the analytical structure of the brain – intelligence. The purpose of the article: to reveal the essence and structure of the intellect, the stages of its development and to highlight the reasons for its rational reconstructions, up to its future development. Two stages are distinguished in the explanation of its essence and rational reconstructions – pre-cybernetic and post-cybernetic. The first is characterized as theoretical, the content of potential, active and acquired intelligence is revealed (Al-Farabi). The unity of the ideas of Anaxagoras, Aristotle, M. Halych, M. Montaigne and other researchers of the intellect is emphasized, that it appears not only as mind, reason, but as a higher form of its activity, which operates exclusively with abstractions. It was analyzed that the further rational reconstruction of the intellect is connected with the formation of technical reality (E. Kann, F. Relo, and today I. Shapiro, J. Huizinga, A. Sheff, etc.). intellectual systems appeared as a conventional designation of cybernetic systems that model various aspects of intellectual activity, primarily logical thinking. This stage has been counting down since 1948, after the publication of M. Wiener's work «Cybernetics» and united: mathematics, communication (science of information), physics (science of entropy) and technical reality. This union realized its unity through the new unifying science of intelligence, and in practical terms through the creation of a spiritualized cyborg; the creation of artificial intelligence that aspires to a supermind, and in the military-industrial complex - the creation of drones, lancets and other intelligent systems. The study of intelligence in its historical development allowed: 1) to substantiate the main stages of its development - pre-cybernetic and post-cybernetic; 2) reveal their progressive relationship; 3) explain the reasons for its rational reconstruction; 4) highlight forms of artificial intelligence in the structure of scientific knowledge and explain strong artificial intelligence as a higher form that is on the way to its realization
