Psychometric properties of the Lithuanian version of the functionality appreciation scale /
This study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the Lithuanian translation of the Functionality Appreciation Scale (FAS). A sample ( n = 759) of adults (424 women and 335 men; mean age 23.2 ± 7.1 and age range 18–44 years) participated in the cross-sectional study. Body functionality appreciation, body appreciation, self-esteem, disordered eating and physical activity habits were assessed. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA; n = 379) identified a unidimensional factor structure of FAS, supported by findings in a second split-subsample using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA, n = 380). FAS scores were invariant across gender groups. No mean score differences were observed between genders. Composite reliability of FAS was established in women (ω = 0.94, 95% CI = 0.92, 0.95) and men (ω = 0.92, 95% CI = 0.90, 0.94). Positive associations of FAS with body appreciation, self-esteem and physical activity habits and negative relationships with disordered eating and BMI (in women) confirmed construct validity. FAS predicted self-esteem over and above the variance accounted for by other study measures. The Lithuanian version of FAS is a psychometrically sound measure of body functionality appreciation. FAS might contribute to a comprehensive assessment of positive body image and can be used in various interventions
Analysis of health habits and psychological well-being among physical education teachers in Panevėžys.
Problematic Question - Do the healthy lifestyle habits of physical education teachers depend on their psychological well-being? Research Aim - To investigate the healthy lifestyle habits and psychological well-being of physical education teachers in Panevėžys. Research Objectives: 1. To analyze the healthy lifestyle habits of physical education teachers in Panevėžys city from a gender perspective. 2. To analyze the psychological well-being of physical education teachers in Panevėžys city in relation to gender and age. 3. To evaluate the relationship between healthy lifestyle habits and psychological well-being. Research Methods The research was conducted through a questionnaire-based survey of physical education teachers in the city of Panevėžys. Prior to the study, all participants were provided with an informed consent form. Two questionnaires were used in the research. The first questionnaire – the Lifestyle Questionnaire (Grabauskas et al., 2014) – was adapted for the assessment of lifestyle habits. This instrument enables the evaluation of teachers' daily healthrelated behaviors and the identification of potential health risks. The questionnaire consists of 47 items, grouped into the following categories: General information: questions 1–4; Smoking: questions 5–16; Nutrition: questions 17–27; Alcohol consumption: questions 28–37; Body weight, height, and physical activity: questions 38–47. The second questionnaire – the Well-Being Questionnaire (WBQ) – is designed to assess individuals’ psychological well-being. It consists of 10 statements developed based on the theoretical model by C. D. Ryff and B. H. Singer. According to this model, psychological well-being is understood through six core components: autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relations with others, purpose in life, and self-acceptance. Results 1. The study found no statistically significant differences between men and women in their healthy lifestyle habits (p>0,05). 2. There were no statistically significant differences in emotional well-being by age and gender (>0,05). 3. Perceptions of the importance of healthy eating were negatively correlated with eating in a hurry, while reading labels was positively correlated with healthy eating. There was also a weak positive correlation between physical fitness and active leisure time (p<0,05)

Effects of lower limb resistance training on cognitive function in older adults with mild cognitive impairment risk /
Background: Promoting healthy ageing is a major public health challenge, especially with increasing mild cognitive impairment (MCI) prevalence and associated dementia risk in older adults. Exercise training may improve cognitive function, yet studies on its effects in MCI populations remain limited and inconsistent in design and outcomes. This study investigated the impact of a 12-week structured lower limb resistance training (RT) programme on cognitive performance, specifically memory and executive function in older adults at low and high risk of MCI. Methods: Fifty-three older adults (aged 60–80) completed the study and were categorised into low risk (lrMCI, n = 28) and high risk (hrMCI, n = 25) MCI groups. Participants were assigned to a 12-week RT programme (2 sessions/week, 4 lower-limb exercises, 3 sets of 6–10 reps at 70–85% 1RM) or a passive control group. Cognitive performance was assessed using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and ANAM4™ neurocognitive battery before and after the intervention. Results: At week 12, participants with high risk MCI in the resistance training group showed a significant improvement in MoCA total scores, particularly in executive function and delayed recall domains. An increase in MoCA scores was also observed in the control group, suggesting a potential learning effect. Performance across ANAM4 cognitive tasks did not show statistically significant changes following the intervention. Conclusion: A twice-weekly RT programme over 12 weeks did not produce robust improvements across all cognitive domains, but trends suggested potential benefits in executive function and inhibitory control among older adults at higher risk of MCI. The cognitive response to RT appears to vary by MCI risk level and baseline cognitive status
Evaluating the role of metaverse interactive technologies in Turkey and Lithuania for a clean and sustainable environment in the leisure sector /
The leisure industry exerts adverse effects on the natural environment, creating critical challenges for achieving clean and sustainable environmental goals. However, the potential role of metaverse technologies in mitigating these challenges remains underexplored. Therefore, this study explores how metaverse technologies can support clean and safe environmental objectives in Turkey and Lithuania. Specifically, the research aims to identify the socio-cultural, institutional, and technological barriers that arise during the integration of these technologies into sustainable environmental strategies. Using purposive sampling, semi-structured interviews were conducted with forty experts from both countries, including policymakers, academics, and industry professionals. The results indicate that variations in technological infrastructure, levels of digital readiness, socio-cultural acceptance, and institutional governance capacity significantly shape the feasibility of applying metaverse technologies in the leisure industry. Furthermore, the findings highlight that local needs, stakeholder expectations, and organizational resources play a crucial role in determining the effectiveness of these technologies in promoting a cleaner and more sustainable environment. The recommendations particularly emphasize enhancing technological infrastructure, expanding institutional collaborations, implementing legal reforms related to metaverse technologies, and addressing data security concerns. Overall, the study provides a comprehensive perspective that connects technology, recreation, and environmental science

Aim: Evidence on physical activity (PA), sedentary time, and fitness in adolescents with impairments has been limited. Weaimed to compare outcomes in Swedish adolescents with and without impairments and between impairment types. Methods: This cross-sectional study, from September to December 2019, comprised of adolescents from 34 mainstream schoolswithin 3 h' drive of Stockholm, Sweden. Parents reported impairment status. PA and sedentary time were measured with accel-erometers during school and leisure time on weekdays and weekends. Fitness was estimated using the Ekblom-Bak submaximalcycle test, sports participation was self-reported and multilevel mixed models were used for analyses. Results: We enrolled 972 adolescents (51% girls), with a mean age of 13.4 ± 0.3 years. Just under a third (31%) had impairments.Adolescents with impairments showed lower PA levels, less adherence to recommendations, lower fitness and less participationin organised sports than those without impairments. Those with learning or visual impairments engaged in less vigorous activityand the former had lower fitness levels. Conclusion: Adolescents with impairments were less physically active, more sedentary and had lower fitness than peers withoutimpairments. This emphasises the need for equitable opportunities for PA, to support long-term health and well-being in adoles-cents with impairments
Evolution of research on energy import dependency: collaboration networks, thematic trends, and emerging hotspots /
This study aims to reveal the evolution and main trends of the academic literature on energy import dependency through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. The study analyzed publications from SCOPUS and Web of Science databases between 2000 and 2024. The methods used include visualization of publication trends, author and country collaboration networks, keyword co-occurrences, and thematic changes over time. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that themes such as "energy security", "renewable energy", "sustainability", and "vulnerability" came to the fore, especially in the last decade. In addition, it was found that author and country collaboration networks exhibited a strong structure at both interdisciplinary and international levels. The findings demonstrate that energy import dependency is no longer merely a technical or economic issue but has evolved into a multidimensional research area encompassing sustainability, diversification, and energy policies. As a result, this study serves as a valuable reference for the current state and future development of the field
