    MARLISE! The (Unauthorized) Story

    No full text
When a fading Hollywood star Marlise Mattox is framed for murder, she must join forces with her obsessive fan, Arnold Berman, to clear her name and solve the crime. Set in the nostalgic 1950s Hollywood, our characters are so obsessed with movies, they no longer know what’s real. Arnold believes cinema is “better than real life.” Marlise has become the role the studio cast her in; perfect, glamorous, and utterly manufactured. But when the lights fade and the set collapses, what’s left? As their lives unravel, they must confront the truth behind the camera, and decide whether to run from it or finally let it in. Would they rather live the truth, or a technicolor lie?https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-cmat/1197/thumbnail.jp

Echoes of the Unspoken: A Musical Exploration of Women\u27s Struggles Beyond Structural Inequality, and the Intangible Dimensions of Oppression

The following culminating experience project, Echoes of the Unspoken: A Musical Exploration of Women\u27s Struggles Beyond Structural Inequality, and the Intangible Dimensions of Oppression, aims to bring awareness to the complex and lesser-discussed ways in which the patriarchy poisons our lives, in hopes of sparking conversation, inspiring and healing women, and inviting self-reflection in men. Each of my six compositions focuses on a different layer of experience-such as defying gender roles, shedding light on the Madonna-whore complex, and living with the long-term, intangible effects of abuse.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-global-jazz/1190/thumbnail.jp

Head of Marketing and Branding Disrupción Records

    No full text
As Head of Marketing and Branding at Disrupción Records, I worked with the executive team and each imprint head to continue to build the label’s strong identity and provide marketing support. While I have a background in nonprofit marketing, I wanted to take this role to grow my skills within music specifically, and was eager to work in space that prioritizes building indie artists’ visibility. I created tools including campaign templates, content calendars, and planning guides in an effort to make marketing more accessible for our imprints. I also revamped our website, grew our email list, and increased engagement through newsletters and release campaigns which outperformed industry benchmarks. Beyond these tasks, I also interviewed industry professionals through discussions that tackled music marketing, elevating indie artists, and what it means to be part of the industry. I enjoyed bringing those insights back to my work. This role confirmed my passion for music marketing and taught me about collaboration and the importance of building community in creative spaces.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-global-entertainment-business/1403/thumbnail.jp

    SOUNDS OF THE KINGDOM EP

    No full text
This Culminating Experience project is an EP titled, SOUNDS OF THE KINGDOM, which is produced and written by Terrence Moore Jr., who also goes by his stage name, PropheT. This EP is heavily influenced by cinematic orchestral music, Gospel music, Hip Hop music, Biblical references, and other genres and source material that help sonically create a triumphant, symphonic, and intensive sound. The importance of this music is to give the listeners the feeling of hearing what a “Kingdom Sound based on the Bible would sound like. The way that this was accomplished was by utilizing string, choral and brass instruments that were layered multiple times to create different textures within the music. The use of sampling hip hop drums, vocal loops, and gospel inspired music was key to the creation of this EP. Terrence Moore’s goal with this project was to achieve a sound with the idea in mind of making “Freedom Music”, which is described as music that feels heavy and intense but allows the listener to have a positive listening experience.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-production-technology/1425/thumbnail.jp

A call to rethink music interventions implementation to address health disparities

    No full text
Music medicine holds transformative potential for enhancing patient care, yet its widespread impact remains limited due to several barriers. While music has demonstrated benefits to human health, its integration into healthcare settings has been constrained by its predominance of Euro-centric classical genres and a narrow pool of providers. To unlock music medicine’s full potential, a broader approach is necessary. This includes diversifying musical genres to include a range of cultural preferences, expanding the role of certified music therapists, leveraging technology for remote interventions, and establishing new reimbursement pathways. However, current practices often perpetuate health disparities by limiting access to affluent settings, skewing evidence, and excluding marginalized communities. To address these issues, we advocate for a reconceptualization of music interventions that prioritizes equity, inclusivity, and cultural relevance. Expanding research, integrating diverse musical offerings, and adopting online platforms can enhance accessibility and effectiveness, bridging gaps in care and improving patient outcomes. By embracing these changes, music medicine can evolve into a comprehensive, equitable tool for holistic health promotion
