Četvorovodni krov u sistemu LKV sa različitim nagibima krovnih ravni
U radu je prikazano rešenje konstrukcije četvorovodnog krova primenom drvenih
rešetkastih nosača u Sistemu LKV. Osnovni principi konstruisanja i oblikovanja
četvorovodnih krovova sa istim nagibima krovnih ravni, važe i za krovove sa različitim
nagibima krovnih ravni, uz određene modifikacije, što je u ovom slučaju i prikazano na
realizovanoj drvenoj krovnoj strukturi. Projektom konstrukcije je definisan koncept i
geometrija konstrukcije krova, kao i geometrija svih LKV nosača koji formiraju krovnu
strukturu
Mobilizing the Image: Ideological Narrative in The Interior Design of The Sava Center
The paper will examine the process of design and construction of the Sava conference center in Belgrade and its role in the creation of the ideological narrative on the disciplinary level through the conceptions of space. During the Cold war, Yu goslav cultural space was in a unique position between East and West, building its international image on the idea of political neutrality and the Non-aligned movement. The Sava center was built in 1977, for the purpose of hosting the second Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe, and the Non-Aligned Movement in 1983. The building of the conference center was not only the functional necessity but was also an important factor in presenting Yugoslavia on the international lev el. By questioning the critical theory and the postmodern condition in the domain of representation of architecture, the main aim of the research is to trace the pos sible aspects of reading the aesthetic and symbolic layers within the interior de sign of Sava center. The main hypothesis is that that interior space was a crucial el ement in the creation of the continual simulacrum, which embodies the idea of political neutrality and self-managing socialism, presenting the Yugoslavian poli tics as diplomatic and open unlike its communist counterparts in the USSR. The Sava center is typically considered through the prism of political and econom ic aspects while neglecting the design approaches, images and conceptions of space. The idea of building the new center can be related to the postmodern un derstanding of losing imposed centrality in the vision of history and the dominance of the single image as a condition for the unquestionable way of interpretation. By analyzing primary sources stemming from the period of its construction and nu merous visual materials, the research aims to discover the possible influences and conditions by which the architectural approach to designing was determined. Biophilic architecture: nature-based design solutions for health and well-being in living spaces
This research focuses on improving the well-being and health of citizens in
terms of the design and development of living spaces in harmony with nature. In
the contemporary moment, most cities suffer from health and environmental
problems. Also, the growing awareness of climate change issues makes it even more
apparent and essential to bring nature into our living spaces. Scientific studies have
pointed out on a multiplicity of benefits of nature for people, especially for children
and older populations. Bringing nature indoor causes increased participation in
physical activities, improved mental health and cognitive function and an increase
in social interaction between people. Nature and its elements have great power
on the human body. The concept of biophilia advocates that there is an innate
connection between humans and nature and that people tend to show a positive
response when they experience a connection with nature. Accordingly, biophilic
design is the design of spaces that promotes and encourages the interaction of
humans with nature and natural systems. This paper researches different design
methodologies, strategies, principles, scales, and concepts according to patterns of biophilic design and with a focus on their influence on the health and well-being of
users. The research also opens further discussions about the potentials of sensitive
and responsive biophilic design to improve the health and environmental problems of
contemporary urban areas
“Plot by plot urbanism”. Mapping post-socialist changes in urban tissues of Krakow and Belgrade
Political ideologies of the Soviet Union resulted in deep cultural and economic transformations in post WWII Poland and Serbia (Ex-Yugoslavia) including profound changes to urban space and planning. Time of war destruction, neglect of inherited urban structures and the modernist doctrine of urban development led to functional zoning based on modernist spatial concepts. Accordingly, social systems led to land nationalization, elimination of private property resulting in centralized city planning and especially large urban housing complexes. Political changes at the end of the twentieth century returned to policies based on democratic systems and a decentralized economy with private land ownership. After nearly 30 years (Poland) and 15 years (Serbia), it is possible to see successes and failures in the system and the implementation of spatial changes. Faced with today's challenges to implement sustainable solutions, post-socialist cities must respect the existing urban structure while achieving the best possible use of existing investment.
This paper aims to present the first findings of the project on post-socialist urban form currently being undertaken with the support of ISUF, Faculty of Architecture-University of Belgrade and Cracow University of Technology. Through the historical evolution and a general analysis of the planning contexts, a comparative discussion will be focused on understanding the characteristics of the current urban form. Research on particular cases, Krakow and Belgrade, can not only help to reveal varieties of conditions to which similar urban tissues have been exposed but can also open up methodological discussion on tools and technics for reading post-socialist urban form
How are we to understand the global phenomenon of urban shrinkage at local level? Comparison of urban areas in Romania and Serbia
As a global phenomenon, urban shrinkage is explained in the scientific literature through general characteristics, such as the economic and demographic decline of a city. It also has strong national, regional and local features. In most cases the particular aspects of each context are the main determinants for shrinkage. The aim of this paper is to determine how to understand the phenomenon at national level through a comparison of Romania and Serbia, two post-socialist countries that share similarities and distinctions. The first stage is to present the situation in each of these two countries; then utilise the same indicators to make comparisons and draw conclusions. The result of the paper provides an overview of the urban shrinkage situation in both Romania and Serbia. Finally, some further recommendations are presented, such as the possibility of forming a regional approach to the phenomenon
Smart Mapping Tools for the Balanced Planning of Open Public Spaces in the Tourist Town of Golubac, Serbia
Cultural tourism is becoming an important factor for local socio-economic perspective today. This is especially visible in smaller remote locations with rich cultural and natural heritage, where the other economic drivers are usually limited due to this remoteness. The proper example for this is the Iron Gates, where local heritage has been isolated by this longest gorge of the Danube. Nevertheless, the boom of cultural tourism has been noticed last years. The problem is that it is very concentrated in the main heritage sites, leaving the other parts without observable socio-economic benefits. Golubac Town at the western entrance of the gorge is such example. This is the only town in the Iron Gates with a historic urban core and the variety of open public space. Although magnificent Golubac Fortress is close and the Danube is the widest in its flow in the front of Golubac, local tourism is still underperforming.
This paper aspires to examine the prospects of Golubac Town to become a proper destination of cultural tourism by the comparison of two methods, both based on spatial networking through mapping. The first one is customised space syntax, oriented to the use of open public space by different users as a prerequisite to support the deconcentrated use of wider urban environment. The second method is newer and “smart” – it the mapping of the use of open public space extracted from social media (Tweeter, Instagram, and Flick) and it is more attached to visitors. Using these two methods on the case of Golubac the paper results in the recommendations how to improve traditional urban planning and design for the potential tourist destinations that face the high spatial imbalance of tourist visitors between their parts
Multi-Level Governance as a Tool for Territorial Integration in Europe: Example of the Orient/East-Med Corridor
The initiatives related to the Pan-European, later TEN-T, and, finally, Core Network Corridors, are considered the first instrument for territorial cohesion in Europe – even before spatial development policies. Therefore, their significance in connecting various territories across Europe is indisputable. However, putting aside the material benefits, true European integration is not possible without efficient cooperation and coordination. This is particularly true for territories with various past histories, identities and planning cultures: the Orient/East-Med Corridor is a distinctive example of such differences.
After presenting the two main principles of territorial integration in Europe – supranationalism and intergovernmentalism, as well as their limitations, the concept of multi-level governance is elucidated. Multi-level governance, i. e. a simultaneous activation of both governmental and non-governmental actors at various jurisdictional levels, comprises two ideal types of institutions: general-purpose political institutions and single-purpose functional jurisdictions. Transnational territories are certainly affected by both types and thus the main question relates to the dynamics and mobilization of institutional and non-institutional actors, rather than revolving solely around strong hierarchy (e. g. between the administrative levels of nation states) or overlapping sectoral/functional entities (in certain domains at the transnational level). However, various types of cooperation are suitable for various administrative and territorial levels. Therefore, the central part of this paper shows forms of intersectoral and interdisciplinary cooperation, particularly elucidating the role of the following levels: transnational, cross-border and local. This is done by clarifying the main principles of multi-level governance relevant for different levels, illustrated with examples of various cooperation forms perceived along the Orient/East-Med Corridor. The paper concludes that only a more intensive interaction among various disciplines and sectors can contribute to the sustainability of transport practices, enhancing territorial cohesion

Application of multi-criteria analysis in the process of energy renewal of residential buildings
The subject of this paper is multi-criteria analysis of the selection of the best group of measures
for energy efficiency improvement of multifamily housing. Selection of the optimal sets of
measures for energy efficiency improvement is made on the basis of multi-criteria optimization
using the method of multi-criteria compromise ranking of alternative solutions - AHP method
(Analytical Hierarchical Process). The goal of the analysis is to select the best combination of
measures for energy renewal of the existing building, or the best variant of a series of offered
favourable variants in terms of adopted criteria and defined limitations. For the purpose of energy
renewal of the existing building and according to recommendations of national regulations,
five measures for energy efficiency improvement was adopted. The measures include the
thermal performances improvement of non-transparent and transparent parts of the thermal
envelope of the building and the use of renewable energy sources, respectively integration of
solar thermal collectors into the building envelope. For multi-criteria optimization, a set of the
following five criteria is adopted, according to which alternatives are evaluated: annual final
energy consumption for heating; annual primary energy consumption for heating; annual CO2
emissions; investment costs for energy renovation of buildings and return period of investment
means. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy of AHP method in practice when is
necessary to reach an optimal decision in selecting the best measures for improving the energy
performance of buildings. Finally, ranking of alternatives is done according to selected scenarios
of different combinations of criteria weight
Mechatronics in architecture: design research methodology
Complex modeling presents new and contemporary subject in architecture. The loop between
the idea, programming, digital modeling and physical models gives the possibility to come to new
conclusions that help develop architectural projects. This paper aims to show the advantages of
multidisciplinary architectural projects through a workshop held at the University of Belgrade
- Faculty of Architecture. The participants of this workshop, from different backgrounds and
faculties, have been doing a research about the use of mechatronics in architecture. The
mechatronic system was analyzed on a physical model based on the project by the architectural
studio 4of7 Architecture for Slavija square in Belgrade. One of the aims of this workshop was to
show the user-object-environment relationship and to explore the advantages and disadvantages
of this kind of architectural design. The final product of this workshop is an interactive physical
model that can show the movement of architectural elements in real-time. This model can help
in the education about the use of mechatronics as a new design method in architecture. The
concluding argument would show the possibilities of mechatronics in architectural projects for
urban space and it will aim to place it on the map of design methodologies in architecture
Неготинске Пивнице - Партиципативни урбани дизајн
The book "Wine Cellars of Negotin: Participatory Urban Design" presents a summary of five years of activities. It is a logical continuation of the previously published book and collaborations, which have initiated earlier. The first collaboration between the Municipality of Negotin and the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Architecture - Public Art & Public Space Program - PaPs [http://www.publicart-publicspace.org/] has started in 2011. A very wide range of top academic, public, and private institutions and top experts, from Serbia, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, and the UK has accompanied this collaboration. The first results of the activities, which were realized from 2011 to mid-2014, are presented in the book “VinoGrad - The Art of Wine” [http://www.publicart-publicspace.org/publications/books/vinograd-the-art-of-wine173], published in 2015. Therefore, this book is a result of the activities that have been implemented since mid-2014.
Developing as a continuation of the previous research and achieved results, implementation of the activities in the last five years has evolved in three basic directions. These directions make the structure of the book. Firstly, connecting the city of Negotin to the international networks aimed at the knowledge transfer through twinning, or networking with cities that share similar experiences from the past and similar hopes for a desired future. Secondly, drafting concrete project proposals for the revitalization of Negotin wine cellars as a distinct development base for the restoration of wine-growing methods and wine production techniques that have traditionally celebrated this region. This is in order to prove the possibility of introducing modern approaches to the revival of the viniculture, protecting the heritage, and closer linkage of these sectors with the daily needs and routines of both existing and future users. Thirdly, the book presents the initiative and implementation of international scientific research projects that aim to find adequate strategies and practical tools for strengthening local capacities for research, initiation, management, and monitoring of plans and projects for sustainable development of the territory.

All project activities were realized with constant care, active and full participation, and logistical support of the “Public art & Public space - PaPs” program from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade.
The book "Wine Cellars of Negotin: Participatory Urban Design" is awarded with the First Prize, by the Serbian Town-Planners’ Association, in a very fierce competition, as the best annual publication, among 20 selected titles, presented at the 28th International Urban Planners’ Exhibition, held on 8-13 November 2019.
