CT image sequences of sandwich packings: B1-250 plus B1-500 at constant liquid rate of 20 m³/(m²h) and various gas rates
This repository contains sequences of CT images of the two-phase flow in sandwich packings that are alternately arranged in a packing stack using B1-250 (specific geometric surface area is 250 m² /m³) for de-entrainment layer and B1-500 (specific geometric surface area is 500 m² /m³) for holdup layer. As measurement system the ultrafast electron beam X-ray computed tomography scanner was applied in dual plane scanning mode with a dual-imaging frequency of 1000 Hz. Operating parameters, the scanning plane as well as the tags "AB" for de-entrainment layer, "AN" for hold-up layer and "DRIVE" for an axial scan are encoded in the name of the data files
Data for: Parametric magnon transduction to spin qubits
Experimental data was obtained via Brillouin light scattering microscopy and optically-detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) spectroscopy. Complementarily, micromagnetic simulation data was obtained with the program mumax3 and also additional analytical calculations were performed
Source Data: Laser-driven high-energy proton beams from cascaded acceleration regimes

Data publication: Development and Evaluation of Deuterated [18F]JHU94620 Isotopologues for the Non-invasive Assessment of the Cannabinoid type 2 Receptor in Brain
What is already known • Increased expression of the CB2R in the brain is linked to certain neuropathological diseases. • First clinical trials for CB2R-directed therapies are conducted. What this study adds • [18F]JHU94620-d8 provides the potential to quantify the CB2R receptor density in the brain by positron-emission-tomography. Clinical significance • Stratification of patients for CB2R-directed therapies and follow up of the treatment response is needed
Spectra from 2806 experiment at European XFEL
Experimental spectra from European XFEL proposal n. 2806, described in following publication. Link to publication will be added here once published.
The Cu_3um.pickle file contains the processed experimental spectra for various xfel photon energies and irradiatied energy density. The file show_data.py is a python script which is showing how the data file can be read and the spectra plotted and interpreted.
Resonances.xls is a table with identified resonances from the spectra, it is a copy of Table II in the manuscript
Multiphase Code Repository by HZDR for OpenFOAM Foundation Software
The Multiphase Code Repository by HZDR for OpenFOAM Foundation Software is a software publication released by Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf according to the FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reuseability). It contains experimental research work for the open-source software released by The OpenFOAM Foundation. The developments are dedicated to the numerical simulation of multiphase flows, in particular to the multi-field two-fluid model (Euler-Euler method).

Optimierte Prozessketten für hydromechanisches Li-Ionen-Batterie-Recycling Helmholtz-Institut Freiberg für Ressourcentechnologie (HIF)
The study aimed to develop design for recycling (DfR) recommendations for NMC 811 batteries using a well-defined recycling process. The methodology integrated comprehensive empirical and analytical measurements to construct an accurate thermodynamic simulation of material and substance flow throughout the recycling process. This involved stages of manual dismantling, followed by mechanical, physical, and metallurgical processing of the NMC 811 battery cells. Thermodynamic simulations were conducted using FactSage™ version 8.2 and HSC Chemistry 10 version 10.3.7.1 software to model the recovery of lithium present in the black mass via metallurgical processing methods. The results provided a detailed breakdown of the material composition post-dismantling, revealing that separated cells containing the active NMC 811 material constituted 63.7% of the total weight. The study also introduced a recyclability index to quantify the recovery rates of individual elements, showcasing a recovery rate of 59.7% for lithium and an overall recycling index of 59.4%. The generated data was meticulously formatted to ensure clear comprehension, thereby supporting informed decision-making for optimizing recycling strategies. Key conclusions emphasized the importance of integrating comprehensive material flow analysis and adopting a product-centric approach to enhance recycling efficiency. Recommendations included optimizing the dismantling process to achieve a 21% reduction in environmental impacts, such as Global Warming Potential, and avoiding the use of materials that would be lost in the recycling route. These measures are projected to increase the recycling index to 90%, thereby significantly improving the overall sustainability of the recycling process for NMC 811 batteries.Förderkennzeichen: 03XP0339B; Leitung: AP 6.
