    Globalization and Black Identity: Interrogating Local & Translocal Imagination in the New Transatlantic African Writings Kehinde and Americanah

    Geography plays a significant role in shaping the identity of an individual, especially, African ‘black’ identity. In the globalized era, black identity does not imply a stable signifier of the African race but is substantially contingent. The global interconnectedness has rendered the communication between different community’s complex and challenging. The diasporic encounters of Emecheta and Adichie draw a separate yet linked legacies of their local/translocal black experiences from which they elicit their understanding of the two global realms, Global North and Global South. The research article critically analyzes the major concerns of race and black identity in the select novels, Kehinde and Americanah. The argument tries to bring to the forefront two conflicting cultural and political forces, African and American/European, simultaneously transcending and celebrating the local and the translocal. As a consequence, the subjective identities of the character’s act as variables that perceive the racial difference on the one hand, and on the other, the difference helps contribute in their identity formation in hybrid spaces like America and Britain

    Introvert bermaksud orang yang bersifat suka memendam rasa, lebih menumpukan perhatian pada diri mereka sendiri, dan tidak suka bergaul dalam kalangan masyarakat atau dunia luar. Secara umumnya orang yang bersikap introvert lebih cenderung untuk menjadi introspektif dan sibuk dengan kehidupan mereka sendiri. Terdapat beberapa kesan berkaitan dengan tingkah laku murid yang berpesonaliti introvert ini antaranya ialah menjejaskan pencapaian akademik, kokurikulum dan mereka akan mempunyai tahap sosial yang rendah. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti strategi yang digunakan oleh guru dan pihak sekolah dalam menyokong pembelajaran bagi murid-murid yang berpesonaliti intovert sepanjang Covid-19. Berdasarkan kajian yang telah dilakukan diketahui bahawa pelaksanakan Project Based Learning (PBL) semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran menjadi salah satu startegi yang boleh menyokong pembelajaran bagi murid-murid yang berpesonaliti intovert semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran di rumah sepanjang Covid-19. Teaching and Learning Management Problems for Introverted Students During the Covid-19 Pandemic Abstract: Introvert means people who like to hide their feelings, focus more on themselves, and do not like to socialize in society or the outside world. In general, people who are introverts tend to be introspective and busy with their own lives. There are several effects related to the behavior of students who are introverts, one of which is affecting academic achievement, co-curricular and they will have a low social level. This study aims to identify the strategies used by teachers and schools in supporting learning for introverted students during Covid-19. Based on the research that has been done, it is known that the implementation of Project Based Learning (PBL) during the teaching and learning process is one of the strategies that can support learning for students who are introverted during the teaching and learning process at home during Covid-19.     Household nowadays need to face the global warming and also have to face increase in cost of living. In this era also, especially Malaysia is the one of developer country, so there so many developments. So this situation can lead to many crises to the household for example dust, high temperature, and the increasing in the electrical bill. This study was aimed to develop solar exhaust fan with temperature sensor that can help the household to overcome the issue. The project used the evolutionary prototyping model. Quantitative method approaches were used for this study where 33 participants were participating in the survey before design the system and 32 respondent respond to survey during the user acceptance testing

    The Effectiveness of Semi Fowler Position 30 Degrees and 45 Degrees on Increasing SPO2 and Respiratory Rate of Lung TB Patients: Literature Review

    Pulmonary TB is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis which attacks the respiratory system and often decreases SPO2. Interventions that can be done to reduce shortness of breath and increase SPO2 are by giving a semi-fowler position. To determine the effectiveness of the semi-Fowler's position on increasing SPO2 and breathing patterns in pulmonary TB patients. Research design literature review. Journal criteria were screened based on literature titles, abstracts and keywords that had been determined and sourced from Biomed Central, DOAJ, Pubmed, Elsevier, and EBSCO HOST identified through the Population, Intervention, Comparation, Outcomes and Study Design (PICOS) system approach. The number of articles used for this literature is 12 journals. Pulmonary TB patients experienced an increase in SPO2 and a decrease in shortness of breath after being given the semi-Fowler position intervention. The results of the analysis showed the effectiveness of the semi-Fowler position to increase SPO2 and reduce shortness of breath in pulmonary TB patients. Health facilities can provide interventions regarding the effectiveness of the semi-Fowler's position to increase SPO2 and reduce shortness of breath, besides that it can also be used as a nursing care intervention program in pulmonary TB patients

    Web Based Expert System in Area & Land Value Calculation and Faraid Distribution

    E-FaraidTanah is a web-based expert system that can help Muslims better understand Islamic Inheritance Law and calculates land distribution based on Faraid law. The main goal of this project is to develop the E-FaraidTanah prototype and to evaluate the user satisfaction. The methodology use throughout this project is an iterative and incremental model which offers the advantage of allowing the project improvement in a step-by-step basis. Hence, it is much easier to control risk and track errors at an early stage. E-FaraidTanah has been analyze based on usability testing through an online survey involving Muslim university students that measures percentages. Findings indicate that 82% of 30 respondents agreed that E-FaraidTanah performed well in terms of efficacy and efficiency. Thus, it is beneficial to assist society awareness on how Faraid property is divided and calculated

    E-pembelajaran bagi Pendidikan Seni Visual (PSV) di sekolah luar bandar berhadapan dengan pelbagai isu pelaksanaan pembelajaran disamping kewujudan pelbagai inisiatif para pendidik. Justeru, kajian ini dijalankan bagi mengenalpasti isu pelaksanaan dan mengkaji inovasi e-pembelajaran di sekolah luar bandar ketika pandemik melanda negara. Instrumen temu bual berstruktur secara berkumpulan dibina bagi menjalankan pengumpulan data bersama 30 orang guru pelatih siswazah tahun akhir Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pendidikan (Seni) di Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Perak yang telah menjalani latihan praktikum di sekolah menengah. Dapatan kajian yang diperoleh bagi soalan kajian pertama adalah pembelajaran abad ke-21, manakala tema kedua adalah pembelajaran secara digital. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan isu pelaksanaan e-pembelajaran PSV mendapati guru pelatih menggunakan teknologi telefon pintar, kaedah Pembelajaran Berasaskan Projek, Pembelajaran Teradun, menjalankan kuiz dalam talian, dan pengajaran melalui laman sosial. Inovasi e-pembelajaran yang dihasilkan adalah guru pelatih menghasilkan YouTube Channel dan modul digital dalam sesi e-pembelajaran. Oleh itu, guru pelatih juga perlu sentiasa mencari alternatif e-pembelajaran semasa menjalani praktikum dengan meningkatkan literasi teknologi mengikut keperluan murid di luar bandar agar sesi pembelajaran dan pembelajaran dapat dijalankan secara berterusan. Issues of Implementation and Innovation of E-Learning Visual Arts Education in Rural Schools During the Pandemic Of Covid 19 Abstract: E-learning for Visual Arts Education (VAE) in rural schools faced with various learning implementation issues in addition to the existence of various initiatives by educators. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify implementation issues and examine the innovation of e-learning in rural schools during pandemic. A focus group structured interview instrument was built to conduct data collection with 30 graduate trainee teachers from final year of the Bachelor of Education (Arts) at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Perak who had undergone practicum training in secondary schools. The research findings obtained for the first research question is 21st century learning, while the second theme is digital learning. The results of the study showed the issue of VAE e-learning implementation find that trainee teachers use smartphone technology, Project-Based Learning methods, Blended Learning, conducting online quizzes, and teaching through social media. The e-learning innovation produced by trainee teacher was YouTube Channel and a digital module in the e-learning session. Therefore, trainee teachers also need to constantly look for e-learning alternatives during the practicum by improving technology literacy according to the needs of students in rural areas so that learning and learning sessions can be carried out continuously.     Liberalism, Law and Social Rights: The Charter of Rights and Freedoms in the Era of Welfare State Restructuring

    Despite expanding the boundary of formal equality, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is conducive to rationalizing liberalism's conception of the role of the state. Contrary to the hasty expectation of social rights advocates who hoped that they can utilize the Charter to advance social rights in Canada, the Charter has in fact been interpreted by the courts in a manner that justifies the subordination of the social rights to the vicissitudes in the economic sphere, which has historically been ingrained as an overriding tenet of liberalism. In line with a long-held liberal principle that the real threat to individual liberty emanates from the state, not private property relations which are indeed the basis for socio-economic inequalities, the Charter interpretations by the courts have, in fact, reinforced a legal rationalization for the neoliberal-motivated forces of welfare state retrenchment which are reflected in the courts’ refusal from imposing any positive obligation on the state to provide the basic means of subsistence for citizens as a matter of right. Thus, judicial interpretation of the Charter reflects and reinforces the nineteenth-century liberal tenet that the judiciary can restrain but cannot compel the state to take positive actions

    Investigation and Implementation of Beacon Technology for Man Tracking in Oil and Gas Industry

    The oil and gas industry deals with various challenges, and one of it is to comply with frequently changing environmental regulations in monitoring and management system. In this project, the focus will be in the necessity for oil and gas industry to monitor the movement of their employees especially for whom that were conducting tasks in remote areas to wisely optimise the runway resources while simultaneously reaching the needs of delivery schedules. To oversee the workers position, a comprehensive floor mapping system that indicates the real-time status of individuals is required on 24/7 basis. Therefore, the use of beacon system with IOT platform will be applied in this project. The concept is such as the employees are required to carry a customised beacon badge, for this badge will communicate valuable information to the Bluetooth gateway that coordinates the collected information to a cloud-based system for floor mapping process. In other words, an investigation and implementation of a beacon system through a Bluetooth gateway to a cloud-based system in accordance with IEEE 802.15 standard will work out

    The General Education Curriculum in the Philippines: A Policy Analysis

    Due to the fast pace changes and impact of globalization and technological advancement, this is a significant challenge to the educational system. More importantly, the students, the faculty, the institution, the school administration, and the stakeholders have something to think over. Internationalizing the curriculum in the local context is a predicament that the government must address for students to be globally competitive and ready for the challenges of tomorrow. This particular paper analyzed the Philippine General Education Curriculum (GEC). The analysis of this paper resulted in two policy options which provided a comprehensive discussion regarding the ramifications of implementing the new general education curriculum in higher education institutions. Afterward, the paper also shared a SWOT and stakeholders' analysis to provide practical ideas and perspectives for school administrators to consider timely decision-making and school management. Finally, this paper offered some relevant recommendations for future references

    Pemanfaatan Teknologi Informasi (TI) dalam proses penyampaian informasi mengalami perkembangan pesat. Saat ini, teknologi terbaru yang digunakan dalam penyampaian informasi adalah teknologi Augmented Reality (AR). Pada teknologi AR, pengguna dapat menvisualisasikan objek dalam bentuk 3 dimensi. AR memiliki kelebihan bersifat interaktif dan real time sehingga AR banyak diimplementasikan di berbagai bidang. Di dunia pendidikan, AR digunakan sebagai media untuk mengenalkan struktur dan fungsi tumbuhan, terlebih mengenai mata pelajaran IPA yang terkesan susah dipahami di kalangan para pelajar. Media pembelajaran Augmented Reality Struktur dan Fungsi Tumbuhan dibuat melalui android menggunakan Unity 3D dengan Vuforia, dan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman C#, serta untuk design tampilan aplikasi menggunakan software 3D Studio Max. Dan untuk metode pengembangan perangkat lunak yang digunakan adalah waterfall. Untuk pengujian aplikasi yang dilakukan menggunakan Blackbox. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah menjadikan proses belajar-mengajar peserta didik lebih interaktif dan inovatif. Currently, the latest technology used in the delivery of information is Augmented Reality (AR) technology. In AR technology, users can visualize objects in 3-dimensional form. AR has the advantage of being interactive and real time so that AR is widely implemented in various fields. In the world of education, AR is used as a medium to introduce the structure and function of plants, especially regarding science subjects which seem difficult to understand among students. Learning media for Augmented Reality Structure and Function of Plants is made using Android using Unity 3D with Vuforia, and using the C# programming language, as well as for application display design using 3D Studio Max software. And for the software development method used is the waterfall. For application testing carried out using Blackbox. The result of this research is to make the teaching and learning process of students more interactive and innovative.
