    No full text
The dataset includes information gathered through a face-to-face cross-sectional survey of 1,072 households, of which 444 were irrigating households. The survey was conducted in the Mopti and Sikasso regions of Mali. The survey was a joint collaboration between the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the Institut d'Economie Rurale (IER) of Mali, and Texas A&M University (TAMU) and was financially supported by USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) under the Feed the Future "Innovation Lab for Small-Scale Irrigation (ILSSI)." The collected data encompasses a wide range of topics, including household demographics, agricultural production, irrigation practices, water security, water access, sanitation, hygiene, access to rural services and infrastructure, market participation, and nutrition. With such a comprehensive dataset at hand, researchers can delve into analyzing various aspects of the surveyed regions, such as understanding household dynamics, exploring agricultural practices, and assessing the effects of irrigation in different facets of life

    SWMM5+ User Manual Version 1.0

    No full text
This manual provides the fundamentals for using the SWMM5+ hydraulics engine coupled to the the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Storm Water Management Model (EPA SWMM). SWMM5+ provides a finite-volume solution for the dynamic wave equation (Saint-Venant equations) that replaces the link- node finite-difference approach in EPA SWMM. The principal advantages of the new model are (i) improved mass conservation and stability and (ii) efficient use of multi-core processors to reduce computational time for large systems. This manual assumes users are already familiar with EPA SWMM and have the EPA SWMM user guide available for reference

    No full text
—— Royal decree to the officials of the royal treasury in Mexico City regarding the encomienda system. The original purposes of the system in the American colonies were to protect and educate the Indigenous people and reward local merits for the territories’ defense. The Spanish Crown notes that they have observed that encomenderos residing in Spain are not fulfilling these purposes. Therefore, it is decreeing that in the future, encomiendas will not be granted to individuals who do not live in the Indies, and compliance with the laws requiring encomenderos to reside in their encomiendas is demanded without exceptions. New encomiendas will only be granted to residents of the entrusted towns. Encomiendas granted for life to the early conquerors, or as a reward for services in Spain, will remain valid. If an encomendero dies without complying with the required residence, their encomienda will be extinguished, and its tributes will be allocated to the royal treasury, income that will be used to maintain the empire’s fleet and presidios and defend the territories’ coasts. 3 f.
