Defensa contra acusaciones de insubordinación, 1775 marzo 26

    No full text
Fr. —— Fr. Vicente de Mora defends himself against Baja California Governor Felipe Barri's accusations of insubordination. According to Barri, Fr. Mora did not want to promulgate the governor's orders and was actively opposing the soldiers' rounds outside the missions. The friar details how the incident unfolded for the former accusation, noting that he directed the Indigenous to learn of the official's order. He references Pima rebellions as an example of what force leads to, which he accuses the governor of doing in the area, and argues that Cristian doctrine is most effective to keep the peace. Regarding his opposition to the soldiers' presence near the mission, Fr. Mora defends it, stating that the soldiers are a negative influence on the Indigenous neophytes. 12 f. (24 p.

    RDM Needs assessment

The complexity and privacy issues inherent in social science research data makes research data management (RDM) an essential skill for future researchers. Limited data management training has been developed to specifically address the needs of graduate students in the social sciences. To address this gap, this study used a mixed methods design to investigate the RDM awareness, preparation, confidence, and challenges of social science graduate students. A survey measuring RDM preparedness and training needs was completed by 98 graduate students in a college of education at a research university in the southern United States. Then, interviews exploring data awareness, knowledge of RDM, and challenges related to RDM were conducted with 10 randomly selected graduate students. All participants had low confidence in using RDM, but United States citizens had higher confidence than international graduate students. Most participants were not aware of on-campus RDM services, and were not familiar with data repositories or data sharing. Training needs identified for social science graduate students included support with data documentation and organization when collaborating, using naming procedures to track versions, data analysis using open access software, and data preservation and security. These findings are significant in highlighting the topics to cover in RDM training for social science graduate students. Additionally, population differences exist in RDM confidence and preparation so being aware of the backgrounds of students taking the training will be essential for designing student-centered instruction

—— Archbishop's decree on the transfer of Our Lady of Remedies statue and the recitation of her litanies for her intercession in the local epidemic and the wars in Europe. —— Letters to the viceroy regarding tensions between the missionaries and Baja California's governor. In the first letter dated August 1, 1774, Fray Vicente de Mora informs the viceroy about the challenges and delays he faces in fulfilling the orders to establish and expand missions. He mentions the refusal of the Governor, Don Felipe Barrí, to provide wood for repairing mission boats, hindering their ability to travel to the new missions of Santa Rosalía de Mulegé and Nuestra Señora del Santísimo Rosario de Viñadaco. Due to the urgency, he expresses concern for the viability of the latter mission. In the second letter dating July 2, 1774, he discusses Barrí's order to withdraw soldiers from the missions despite the potential risks. He requests intervention to resolve the issues. In the third letter, possibly a copy, dated January 2, 1775, responds to the previous two letter. The author, possibly the viceroy, acknowledges the discord and expresses confidence that the appointment of Don Felipe Neve as the new Governor will restore harmony. He concludes by assuring the friar the provision of materials for the mission's boat. 4 f. (8 p.

The implementation of modern cloud solutions should be opaque, not only to avoid confusion to the end user, but to also allow the provider to be agile. This allows them the flexibility to modify the actual physical location, to add or remove redundant duplicate copies of the data, or to completely design their backend
