—— Account addressed to José Dávila, Field Marshal of the Royal Armies and Governor and Intendant of Veracruz, of military actions Antonio López de Santa Anna led from Cotaxtla to Boca del Rio. After the confrontation in Cotaxtla, Santa Anna and his troops strategically withdrew and faced another group of rebels on a hill. Following a series of battles, they took control of the area and looted the town. He recounts an encounter and conversation with an insurgent captain and his men who wanted to turn themselves in and benefit from the general pardon given to those who turned themselves in. Subsequently, Santa Anna describes another successful operation in Tlalixcoyan, where they apprehended insurgents and confiscated properties. Throughout the account, he highlights the effectiveness of his troops and thanks God for not suffering casualties. Santa Anna concludes by expressing his desire for the royal authorities to recognize him and his men. 5 f. (10 p.
Data for diet–egg relationships and equilibration of fatty acids in eggs of southern flounder, Paralichthys lethostigma
Analyses were conducted with southern flounder Paralichthys lethostigma to identify which fatty acids (FAs) in eggs are influenced by broodstock diet and how long it takes for the FA composition of eggs to equilibrate to the broodstock diet. Data were obtained from a laboratory experiment and from hatchery production operations. For each source, two populations of adult flounder were given one or the other of two diet treatments. In the laboratory experiment, the diets differed markedly in FA composition. In the hatchery, a base diet was supplemented on two different schedules. Each of the four diet treatments produced eggs with significantly different mean FA compositions. Of the 27 FAs measured, 19 differed significantly between diets and had corresponding significant differences in eggs (direct diet–egg relationships). Combining results with data from a prior study showed that equilibration of eggs to a change in adult diet takes 8-16 weeks for southern flounder. These findings will be useful for improving broodstock diets and feeding protocols for captive flounder being used by stock-enhancement programs that are designed to mitigate the long-term and widespread population declines of this species

Soil Water Content and Meteorological Data to Support Tracking Aerosol Convection Interactions ExpeRiment (TRACER) over Harris County, Texas
The purpose of this study was to collect and distribute ground-truth soil water content and meteorological data in the Houston, TX, area, supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility, and the 2022 field campaign for the Tracking Aerosol Convection Interactions ExpeRiment (TRACER). The files herein contain soil water content and meteorological data for four stations that the Bureau of Economic Geology at UT Austin installed in the area of study during period of performance. Each station produces two data files. First, file names ending with “_Soil_flagged.dat” contain mean hourly volumetric soil water content and temperature measured at 5, 10, 20 and 50 cm depths. File names ending with “_Meteoro_flagged.dat” contain mean hourly measured precipitation, air temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, and solar radiation. All data have undergone QA/QC procedures that are described by Caldwell et al. (2019) and Dorigo et al. (2013) for the soil-specific data, and EPA (2008) for the meteorological data.
