Enhanced Cooling of Laptop Computer for Improvement of Processing Performance

    Get PDF
A major problems in the operation of laptop computers is overheating since it can affect the performance and stability, sometimes leading to system crash and hardware fatality. The objective of this work was to study the thermal behavior inside a laptop computer and to test the effectiveness of aproposed cooling method to overcome overheating problem. The proposed cooling system contained a thermoelectric device that reduced the intake air temperature into the laptop internal cooling system. An external exhaust blower, located at the exhaust air outlet of the laptop, was mounted to ensure sufficient air flow rate delivered by the cooling system. To assess the effectiveness of the system, temperatures of critical components in the computer were measured. It was found from the study that, under extreme utilization situation, the temperature of the graphic processing unit could increase to 99B0;C. The proposed cooling system could bring down the temperature by up to 6B0;C

Agent Based Software Testing for Multi Agent Systems

    Get PDF
Software testing starts with verification and validation and fulfills the requirement of the customer. Testing can be done by automation tool like Win runner, QTP or manually. If we talk about manual testing it takes lot of time and manpower also so nowadays we are using automation software. When we talk about automation testing so the cost of such kind of testing is very high so each company cannot afford. In this paper we are presenting agent based testing which is helpful for both kind of testing. Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) are characterized by autonomous and collaborative behaviors [1, 2]. Developing such systems is a complex process. As a result, a methodology for developing MAS is highly necessary. In this paper, a methodology using roles and ontology for such a purpose is presented [2]. The functionality of roles is estimated in the various phases of the MAS development. It is based on an emphasis on the properties and behaviors associated with each agent in MAS

NoC Evolution and Performance Optimization by Addition of Long Range Links: A Survey

    Get PDF
In the last decade, Networks-on-Chips became the leading edge technology due to the growing requirements of electronic systems. Basically, NoC is an advancement of bus interconnect technology. The challenge is to interconnect existing components such as processors, controllers, and memory arrays in such a way that there is an optimal utilization of communication resources necessitating optimization of the various dominant factors like energy/power consumption, interconnection delay, latency, throughput, etc. In this paper, we focused on the evolution of NoC. Then we studied and have shown through an example that when application specific long-range links are inserted among the tiles whose communication frequencies are high, there is a reduction in the average packet latency and an energy efficient architecture is build up with high throughput. We also discussed the turn model which is deadlock free and the energy model for NoC

Mobile Object-Tracking Approach using A Combination of Fuzzy Logic and Neural Networks

    Get PDF
Ability to locate a specific object in a dynamic environment has several practical applications including security surveillance, navigation and search and rescue operations. The objective of this paper is to develop an object-tracking algorithm using a combination of fuzzy logic and neural networks. The aim is to originate an algorithm that matches the history locations of an object and predicts its location when it goes offline. Determining the location of an object on specific trajectory becomes difficult if the mobile object stopped reporting its location and goes offline. Therefore, in this analytical article, a proposed approach relies on estimations from sensor data of historical movement patterns and geometric models, is fed into special Neural Network to get best accurate present or future object locations. Fuzzy logic application is used to overcome the challenge of imprecision in data. Although this approach is complex; but it can be one of the ways to be applied on large area applications with acceptable accuracy (80%) as shown by experiments

Investigating the VLSI Characterization of Parallel Signed Multipliers for RNS Applications Using FPGAs

    Get PDF
Signed multiplication is a complex arithmetic operation, which is reflected in its relatively high signal propagation delay, high power dissipation, and large area requirement. High reliability applications such as Cryptography, Residue Number System (RNS) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP)2019;s effective performance is mainly depend on its arithmetic circuit's performance. Trend of using Residue Number System (RNS) instead of Constrain over-whelming Binary representation is promising technique in VLSI Systems and Multiplier is the basic building block of such systems. In this paper we have considered signed Modified Baugh Wooley Multiplier and Modified Booth Encoding (MBE) Multiplier logic for analysis and synthesized on best suited application platform. Analysis has taken account of Delay, Number of Logic Element requirements; Number of Signal Transition for particular sample input and its Power Consumption were analyzed for both Modified Baugh Wooley Multiplier and Modified Booth Encoding Multiplier. Analysis of Multiplier is described in Verilog HDL and Simulated using two different simulators namely Xilinx ISIM and Altera Quartus II. Then for comparative study, both multipliers are synthesized with Xilinx Virtex 7 XCV2000T-2FLG1925 and Altera Cyclone II EP2C35F672C6 and same parameter as discussed above are also evaluated. Booth Recoding provides overall advent of 9.691% in terms of area and approximately 43 % in terms of Delay compared to Modified Baugh Wooley Multiplier implemented using FPGA Technology

Portable TPM based user Attestation Architecture for Cloud Environments

Cloud computing is causing a major shift in the IT industry. Research indicates that the cloud computing industry segment is substantial and growing enormously. New technologies have been developed, and now there are various ways to virtualize IT systems and to access the needed applications on the Internet, through web based applications. Users, now can access their data any time and at any place with the service provided by the cloud storage. With all these benefits, security is always a concern. Even though the cloud provides accessing the data stored in cloud storage in a flexible and scalable manner, the main challenge it faces is with the security issues. Thus user may think it2019;s not secure since the encryption keys are managed by the software, therefore there is no attestation on the client software integrity. The cloud user who has to deploy in the reliable and secure environment should be confirmed from the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) that it has not been corrupted by the mischievous acts. Thus, the user identification which consists user ID and password can also be easily compromised. Apart from the traditional network security solutions, trusted computing technology is combined into more and more aspects of cloud computing environment to guarantee the integrity of platform and provide attestation mechanism for trustworthy services. Thus, enhancing the confidence of the IaaS provider. A cryptographic protocol adopted by the Trusted Computing Group enables the remote authentication which preserves the privacy of the user based on the trusted platform. Thus we propose a framework which defines Trusted Platform Module (TPM), a trusted computing group which proves the secure data access control in the cloud storage by providing additional security. In this paper, we define the TPMbased key management, remote client attestation and a secure key share protocol across multiple users. Then we consider some of the challenges with the current TPM based att

Hybrid Technique for Arabic Text Compression

    Get PDF
Arabic content on the Internet and other digital media is increasing exponentially, and the number of Arab users of these media has multiplied by more than 20 over the past five years. There is a real need to save allocated space for this content as well as allowing more efficient usage, searching, and retrieving information operations on this content. Using techniques borrowed from other languages or general data compression techniques, ignoring the proper features of Arabic has limited success in terms of compression ratio. In this paper, we present a hybrid technique that uses the linguistic features of Arabic language to improve the compression ratio of Arabic texts. This technique works in phases. In the first phase, the text file is split into four different files using a multilayer model-based approach. In the second phase, each one of these four files is compressed using the Burrows-Wheeler compression algorithm
