A Comparative Study of Image Retrieval Algorithms for Enhancing a Content-Based Image Retrieval System
Content Based image retrieval (CBIR) is in retrieve digital images by the actual content in the image .The content are the features of the image such as color, shape, texture and other information about the image including some statistic measures of the image. In this paper Content Based Image Retrieval algorithms are discussed. The comparative study of these algorithms is done. Ambient Intelligence in Healthcare: A State-of-the-Art
Information technology advancement leads to an innovative paradigm called Ambient Intelligence (AmI). A digital environment is employed along with AmI to enable individuals to be aware to their behaviors, needs, emotions and gestures. Several applications of the AmI systems in healthcare environment attract several researchers. AmI is considered one of the recent technologies that support hospitals, patients, and specialists for personal healthcare with the aid of artificial intelligence techniques and wireless sensor networks. The improvement in the wearable devices, mobile devices, embedded software and wireless technologies open the doors to advanced applications in the AmI paradigm. The WSN and the BAN collect medical data to be used for the progress of the intelligent systems adapted inevitably. A New View on Classification of Software Vulnerability Mitigation Methods
Software vulnerability mitigation is a well-known research area and many methods have been proposed for it Some papers try to classify these methods from different specific points of views In this paper we aggregate all proposed classifications and present a comprehensive classification of vulnerability mitigation methods We define software vulnerability as a kind of software fault and correspond the classes of software vulnerability mitigation methods accordingly In this paper the software vulnerability mitigation methods are classified into vulnerability prevention vulnerability tolerance vulnerability removal and vulnerability forecasting We define each vulnerability mitigation method in our new point of view and indicate some methods for each class Our general point of view helps to consider all of the proposed methods in this review We also identify the fault mitigation methods that might be effective in mitigating the software vulnerabilities but are not yet applied in this area Based on that new directions are suggested for the future researc

Encrypted Color Image Transmission in LDPC Encoded MIMO Wireless Communication System with implementation of MP-WFRFT based
This paper emphasizes on comprehensive study for the performance evaluation of LDPC encoded MIMO wireless communication system under implementation of MP-WFRFT based physical layer security scheme. The 4 5F4; multi antenna configured simulated system under investigation incorporates LDPC channel coding scheme and various types of modulation (QPSK, DQPSK, and 4-QAM) and signal detection (ZF, MMSE, ZF-SIC and MMSE-SIC) techniques. On considering transmission of encrypted color image in a hostile fading channel, it is noticeable from MATLAB based simulation study that the LDPC channel encoded system is very much robust and effective in retrieving color image under utilization of MMSE-SIC signal detection and 4-QAM digital modulation techniques
Digital Image Encryption Technique using Block Based Scrambling and Substitution
A novel non-chaos based digital image encryption technique using a combination of diffusion and substitution process has been presented. A secret key of 128 bit sizes is used in the algorithm. In the diffusion (permutation) method, image is divided into different dynamic blocks which are key dependent. Further, each block is made to pass through eight rounds of permutation process. In this process, a zigzag mechanism is used to scramble the block pixels within the block. Then the resultant image i.e. the partially encrypted image is divided into various key based dynamic sub-images. Pixels of the sub-images are replaced with another pixel values within the block when each of the sub-images are passed through the substitution process. The substitution process comprises of four rounds. The proposed scheme is then compared with the standard AES algorithm. Determinants of Electronic Learning Adoption in Higher Institutions of Learning in Uganda: A Learnersa Perspective
The introduction of electronic learning (EL) has been initiated in Higher Institutions of Learning (HIL) as an attempt to improve on education institutions2019; service delivery. By adopting the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, this study was aimed at investigating the determinants of the e-learning adoption in HIL where eight TOE factors were examined. The study adopted a quantitative approach, a descriptive research and cross-sectional survey for the research design. A questionnaire was developed based on the eight identified TOE study constructs and administered to a population of 5438 students in three Faculties of Makerere University Business School (MUBS). In regard to data analysis, factor analysis and assessment of reliability and validity of the measurements items was done. Finally, a multiple regression analysis was carried out to evaluate the relationship between the predictor variables and e-learning adoption. The findings of this study imply that the TOE can be used to analyze ELearning adoption in Universities and other HIL as relative advantage, complexity, compatibility, size, competitive intensity and regulatory environment were identified as significant predictors of EL adoption. The Information-Seeking Behaviour of Students: A Case of University of Dubai
The information seeking behaviour, is considered as a human behaviour to search for information in purposeful way to find the gap. This behaviour sometimes is very undefinable. The study investigated use of electronic resources by students of the College of Business Administration (CBA) and College of Information Technology (CIT). That is, it examined possible factors and problems in their searching habits, information seeking, use and retrieval in satisfying their needs. Therefore, the study focused on information seeking behaviour of students and barriers to utilizing online resources to execute academic tasks. Students of University of Dubai ultimately, due to cultural effects adopts different searching processes, use different phrases and mostly spend more time to search for information to satisfy their needs. It is assumed that poor information skills are preventing them from searching information effectively
