Combating Child Labor: A Gray Area of Corporate Social Responsibility
When discussions on Corporate Social Responsibility are taking the centre stage in corporate circles as a means for sustainable business development, we deliberate on the issue of ‘Child labor’ as one of the stakeholders in this paper. Influence of the extant law on abolition of child labor has been faded away in the absence of political, judicial and executive branches’ will power to tackle with the issue. Government has failed to do the balancing act between the extant law and the implementation of the law on abolition of child labor in its letter and spirit in the light of human rights of children who join the workforce by virtue of their social and economic status and not by choice. This paper explores the advantages of abolition of child labor not only in terms of legal and economic benefits but also to develop social responsibility of corporates to avoid child labor for the cause of future of India to have healthy and educated work force. This is possible only when the companies will choose value creation for future than the instant cost benefits at the cost of loss of innocence and future of children.
Leveraging Core Competencies for Comparative Advantage in a Survivalist Environment
The success of any corporate strategy depends on core competence which in turn is a factor of skill, resources, technology and capabilities which ultimately contributes to a business’s competitive success. One of the issues which is pronounced is that the physical resources can easily be imitable by others but capabilities which depends on team work, culture and organization routines are more difficult to imitate. In the core theme, interaction and learning systems whether it is formal or informal for the acquisition, sharing and utilization of knowledge and skills is determined by its culture and subculture. An important ingredient to develop the strategic intent, the senior management must develop to transform the commitment into a competitive success.
Graphic Art Effects on Consumer Behavior: A Study of Students/ Youth in Iran
The article illustrates how the power of graphic art advertisements facilitates the purchasing and as a result, consumption behavior. It bridges the two sources ___ the decision of the purchaser/ consumer on the one side, and the supplier on the other. The process eliminates negotiation, bargaining and the hard part of decision-making. Therefore, deals and interactions take place quicker under the power of graphic art advertisements. The article implicitly argues how the consumption market is strengthened and improved through graphic art advertisements. Patterns and culture of consumption are made and influenced by graphic art illustrations and advertisements. The article argues that while sociability supports consumption, isolation promotes withdrawal from consumption. Therefore, graphic art advertising bridges between production and consumption. Similarly, consumption contributes to the reproduction of culture, behavior and modernity. The research is based on the main hypothesis that: "graphic art values motivate and affect consumer behavior within the youth in the society". The present research investigates 470 students of age group 18-29 years of various disciplines and of both genders in Tehran City. More female students 311 (66.2%), and less male students 159 (33.8%) participated in interviews in it
CSR Strategy: A Contested Concept
This concept has entered the mainstream in India only recently by way of Companies Act, 2013 and is embedded in its core business strategy through Corporate Social Responsibility Policy Rules, 2014. This piece of discussion note is based on literary analysis of some of the key works of eminent scholars in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility vis-à-vis-Sustainability standards, Shareholder value, Revenue and Market share, Employment and Health, Customer Satisfaction and Environmental protection vis-à-vis Health and Hygiene. It is not a bizarre reality. A number of countries have developed CSR policies and practice documents, mapping and outlining their synergistic approach to Corporate Social Responsibility. Among the notable examples include, British Standard on Sustainability Management-BS 8900, Australian Standard on Compliance Programs-AS 3806–1998, and Canadian Standard of Corporate Social Responsibility-2005. In global terms, many developing and developed countries of the world including France, Germany and Sweden also require corporations to report on the social and environmental impacts of their actions and activities in addition to developing other healthy valuable plans and reporting mechanisms, which form the cornerstone for creating binding norms for organizations, stakeholders and society as a whole

Democratic Decentralization and Gram Sabha
The concept of Democratic Decentralizations has become fashionable in modern economic and political restructuring and for fashioning new strategies for economic development. The term is not of recent origin. It has been much discussed debated by writers, social reformers, political philosophers, modern pluralists and liberal socialists. Democratic Decentralization has been described by various names in India such as ‘functional democracy ‘, ‘building from below,’ panchayati raj,’ etc. However, these do not reflect the spirit behind democratic decentralization. Much more importance has been assigned to democratic element in all of them then to its development aspect. The concept of democratic decentralization in the Indian context has mostly been associated with the Gandhian philosophy of non –violent social order consisting of self – sufficient village republics. “Centralization as a system”, according to Mahatma Gandhi” is inconsistent with the non violent structure of society” (Harijan, 1942)

Noir Thriller Film: Johnny Gaddaar
The film noir style in classic movies refers to a series of downbeat, gritty crime and action movies made in the 1940s and 1950s. These movies used a shadowy, moody visual style that was inspired by European movies of the 1920s. Their visual style both set a mood and concealed the film's usually small budgets. Johnny Gaddaar is a 2007 neo-noir thriller film written and directed by Sriram Raghavan; produced under the banner Adlabs.
