The strategy carried out by Bogor Regional Public Relations in improving the image of the institution is the media relations approach. Perkecambahan asimbiotik biji dan perkembangan planlet Dendrobium spectabile (Blume) Miq.
Dendrobium spectabile (Blume) Miq. is one of Papuan orchids that is of economic value and threatened. At present, the optimal protocol for asymbiotic seed germination and planlet development of D. spectabile is not yet available. This research aimed to develop an optimal and comprehensive protocol for in vitro culture of D. spectabile to support the conservation and reintroduction of this species. The experiment was conducted using a completely random design, including seed sowing, protocorm subculture (subculture 1), plantlet subculture (subculture 2), and plantlet acclimatization. The highest germination rate at 3 MAS (months after sowing) was found in modified Knudson's C (92.59%). The first subculture at 4 MAP (months after planting) showed that the highest leaf and root growths were found in modified Vacin and Went (4.12 and 2.13, respectively). The second subculture at 6 MAP showed that the highest leaf growth was found in full strength of Murashige and Skoog supplemented with 100 g/l banana homogenate (5.49), while the highest number of roots and average root extension were found in half strength of Vacin and Went supplemented with 100 g/l banana homogenate (7.05 and 0.47 cm, respectively). The plantlets were best acclimatized in media consisting of tree fern fibre and sphagnum moss (2:1).Dendrobium spectabile (Blume) Miq. merupakan salah satu jenis anggrek terancam punah dari Papua yang memiliki nilai ekonomi. Saat ini, protokol optimal untuk perkecambahan biji D. spectabile secara asimbiotik dan pengembangan planletnya belum tersedia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan protokol kultur in vitro yang optimal dan komprehensif dalam rangka mendukung upaya konservasi dan reintroduksi jenis ini. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap, meliputi penyemaian biji, subkultur protokorm (subkultur 1), subkultur planlet (subkultur 2), dan aklimatisasi planlet. Tingkat perkecambahan biji D. spectabile tertinggi pada 3 BSS (bulan setelah semai) terdapat pada media modifikasi Knudson's C (92,59%). Pada subkultur pertama, pertumbuhan daun dan akar tertinggi pada 4 BST (bulan setelah tanam) terdapat pada media modifikasi Vacin dan Went (4,12 dan 2,13). Sedangkan pada subkultur kedua, pertumbuhan daun tertinggi pada 6 BST terdapat pada media Murashige dan Skoog dengan penambahan 100 g/l pisang (5,49), dan jumlah akar tertinggi serta penambahan panjang akar rata-rata tertinggi terdapat pada media Vacin dan Went setengah konsentrasi dengan penambahan 100 g/l pisang (7,05 dan 0,47 cm). Planlet teraklimatisasi dengan baik pada media campuran pakis cacah dan lumut sphagnum (2:1)
KEANEKARAGAMAN RAMBAI (Baccaurea motleyana (Müll.Arg.) Müll.Arg.) DI PULAU BENGKALIS BERDASARKAN KARAKTER MORFOLOGI
Bengkalis Island is one of the islands in Riau Province which produced most rambai (Baccaurea motleyana Müll.Arg.) in the province where the plant has been used as fruit and medicinal plants. None of research has been conducted on the diversity of rambai from Bengkalis Island. The purpose of this study was to identify the diversity of B. motleyana in Bengkalis Island based on morphological characters. Exploration method was used in two sub-districts namely Bantan and Bengkalis. Observation included 37 morphological characters of 50 individuals. Data were analyzed using NTSYSpc2.02 and Minitab 16. The result showed that the generated dendrogram was divided into two main groups, with coefficient similarity values ??ranged from 41–78%. Pearson correlation analysis found that 16 characters had high correlation value. This study provided important information on diagnostic morphological characters and taxonomic groupings of B. motleyana which would be useful as a basis for further research and development.Pulau Bengkalis merupakan salah satu pulau di Provinsi Riau penghasil rambai (Baccaurea motleyana (Müll.Arg.) Müll.Arg.) terbanyak, dimana jenis ini dimanfaatkan sebagai tumbuhan penghasil buah dan obat. Hingga saat ini, belum ada penelitian tentang keanekaragaman rambai asal Pulau Bengkalis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman B. motleyana di Pulau Bengkalis berdasarkan karakter morfologi. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode eksplorasi di dua kecamatan di Pulau Bengkalis yaitu Kecamatan Bantan dan Kecamatan Bengkalis. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap 50 individu rambai, meliputi 37 karakter morfologi. Data dianalisis menggunakan software NTSYSpc2.02 dan Minitab 16. Hasil analisis menunjukkan sebuah dendrogram dengan dua kelompok utama dengan nilai koefisien similaritas 41–78%. Hasil analisis korelasi Pearson menunjukkan 16 karakter yang memiliki nilai korelasi yang tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan informasi karakter morfologi yang penting serta pengelompokan taksonomi B.motleyana yang bermanfaat sebagai dasar penelitian dan pengembangan selanjutnya
STRUKTUR VEGETASI DAN SIMPANAN KARBON HUTAN RAKYAT DESA SAMBAK, MAGELANG, JAWA TENGAH
The Private forest is a forest developed on land owned by the private and not in a forest area. The diversity of plants that make up private forests depends on the interests of each landowner. One of the sustainable private forest practices is in Sambak Village, Kajoran District, Magelang Regency. It can be seen from the high level of population participation in planting forest plants on their lands. However, there is little information about the constituent vegetation planted in private forest practice. Therefore, this research was conducted to reveal private forest practices in Sambak Village. In addition, the calculation of carbon stock in private forests is also carried out to reveal the role of private forests in carbon absorption. The data collection technique used the transect method with an observation plot measuring 20x20 m with 50 m in the distance between plots. The method of calculating carbon stock used a non-destructive method by estimating carbon stock based on tree diameter and height. The composition of the plants that make up the private forest vegetation consists of 24 species from 16 families. Sengon dominated the vegetation that makes up the private forest. These results were following the calculation of the highest importance value index achieved by Sengon (70,67), Mahoni (52,18), Kelapa (37,53), and Nangka (25,21). The total carbon stock calculation has amounted to 24,53 ton C/ha and CO2 absorption of 90,05 ton CO2/ha. The highest carbon stock in the private forest of Sambak Village was Pinus 10,22 ton C/ha.Hutan rakyat adalah hutan yang dikembangkan di lahan milik masyarakat dan bukan di kawasan hutan. Keragaman vegetasi penyusun hutan rakyat bergantung pada kepentingan masing-masing pemilik lahan. Salah satu praktik hutan rakyat yang lestari berada di Desa Sambak, Kecamatan Kajoran, Kabupaten Magelang. Hal tersebut terlihat dari tingkat partisipasi penduduk yang tinggi dalam menanam tanaman berkayu keras di lahan-lahan mereka. Namun demikian, informasi tentang vegetasi-vegetasi penyusun yang ditanam dalam praktik hutan rakyat tersebut masih sedikit. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dalam upaya mengungkap praktik hutan rakyat di Desa Sambak. Selain itu, penghitungan simpanan karbon di hutan rakyat tersebut juga dilakukan dalam upaya mengungkap peranan hutan rakyat dalam penyerapan karbon. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode transek dengan plot pengamatan berukuran 20x20 m dengan jarak antar plot 50 m. Metode penghitungan simpanan karbon menggunakan metode non-destruktif yaitu dengan cara menaksir simpanan karbon berdasarkan diameter dan tinggi pohon. Komposisi penyusun vegetasi hutan rakyat tersebut terdiri atas 24 spesies dari 16 famili. Vegetasi penyusun hutan rakyat tersebut didominasi oleh Sengon. Hasil tersebut sesuai dengan penghitungan indeks nilai kepentingan tertinggi yang dicapai oleh Sengon (70,67), Mahoni (52,18), Kelapa (37,53), dan Nangka (25,21). Hasil perhitungan total simpanan karbon di hutan rakyat Sambak sebesar 24,53 ton C/ha dan serapan CO2 sebesar 90,05 ton CO2/ha. Adapun simpanan karbon tertinggi dimiliki oleh Pinus 10,22 ton C/ha dan Kelapa 6,77 ton C/ha
