Analysis of Transient Stability of Superconductor Synchronous Generator at the Presence of Fault Current Superconductor Limiter
One of the most important principles in power networks is system stability. For maximum use of investments in generation, present day systems work at their highest capacity. In other term, they are always at oscillating state and this reduces power system stability drastically. An ordinary generator has some flaws such as small output power density and low efficiency especially upon high powers; however, superconductor generator has higher efficiency than ordinary generator, and similarly, has greater stability upon occurrence of oscillations in power networks. From other side, use of fault current superconductor limiter for rapid removal of fault and ameliorating the transient stability also is effective for generator protection upon fault occurrence. Given above questions, the necessity of study and offering an approach regarding transient stability amelioration, modification of oscillations as well as protecting generators upon fault occurrence seems to be necessary. Here, by modeling an ordinary synchronous generator with infinite bus and comparing it with equal conditions upon fault occurrence with a superconductor generator at the presence of fault current superconductor limiter, we examine the rotor kinetic energy oscillations upon fault occurrence using MATLAB software
Testing Efficiency Wages Hypothesis in Manufacturing Industries of Iran
The main objective of this study is to examine the efficiency wage theory for Iranian factory industries in the 2-digit International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) level in 2001-2011. According to the efficiency wage theory, which is in fact one of the New Keynesian Economists Theories in labor market, reduction of wage is not explainable even under stagnation conditions. This is because; with reduction of wage, the best laborers leave their job and this can decrease workforce productivity. Therefore, in this theory, there is direct correlation between wage and productivity. In other words, efficient wages can enhance productivity. In this study, panel data regression has been used to test the said theory. The results obtained from estimating different models show that efficiency wage theory is not confirmed for Iranian industries. In other words, higher wages can improve productivity and efficiency of laborers in factory industries of Iran
A foreign language as an effective means of research skills development for economics students
The issue of research competences formation as part of professional skills is considered to be of high significance especially while implementing educational standards of the third generation. A strong command of a foreign language and its use as a tool for searching, selecting and processing scientific or specialized information is of great current interest in the context of globalization of information resources as well as the modern labor market modernization. The involvement of students in various research activities connected to foreign language studies contributes to the formation of additional research competencies. In the article, the authors determine the organizational tasks, the types of Students”™ Scientific Research (SSR), the pedagogical conditions for the research competencies formation. Moreover, the authors assessed the research skills development within the framework of the SSR
Analysis of causative factors and cytokine status in traumatic injuries of the lower jaw and complications thereof
This paper presents the degree of incidence, ethiology, traumatic injuries structure, and assessment of local level of TNFα, IFNΠand IL-10 in patients with chronic posttraumatic osteomyelitis and simple jaw fractures. Among the causes for fractures, predominance of civilian trauma is revealed (82.5%) provided that the majority of injured (64.7%) suffered the injury under the influence of alcohol. Main factors aiding occurrence of pyoinflammatory complications in patients with fractures of the lower jaw are as follows: late request for quality medical assistance by the injured person; poor-quality of immobilization; presence of a tooth in the fracture cleft, and comorbidity. The research demonstrates that immunological indicators of mixed saliva reflect the dynamics of a local inflammation. It is found that the level of TNFα, IL-10 may be additional immunological markers for development of posttraumatic osteomyelitis of the lower jaw
Face Recognition using the LCS algorithm
Today, the topic of human identification based on physical characteristics is a necessity in various fields. As a biometric system, a facial recognition system is fundamentally a pattern recognition system that identifies a person based on specific physiological or behavioral feature vectors. The feature vector is typically stored in a database upon extraction. The main objective of this research is to study and assess the effect of selecting the proper image attributes using the Cuckoo search algorithm. Thus, the selection of an optimal subset, given the large size of the feature vector dimensions to expedite the facial recognition algorithm is essential and substantial. Initially, by using the existing database, image characteristics are extracted and selected as a binary optimal subset of facial features using the Cuckoo algorithm. This subset of optimal features are evaluated by classifying nearest neighbor and neural networks. By calculating the accuracy of this classification, it is clear that the proposed method is of higher accuracy compared to previous methods in facial recognition based on the selection of significant features by the proposed algorithm
Morphological and anatomical assessment of the nasopalatine canal in edentulous patients using cone beam computed tomography
Nasopalatine canal (NPC) is one of the most important anatomical structures in the anterior maxilla; therefore, it is necessary to advance our knowledge about its features for dental implant treatment in this region. The aim of the current study was to investigate the morphological and anatomical variations of the NPC using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in a subset of Iranian maxillary edentulous patients. Material and methods: The characteristics of the NPC were examined on CBCT images of 48 (29 males and 19 females with a mean age of 53.04 years) edentulous patients. The sagittal sections of CBCT images were used to examine the shape (funnel- like, cylindrical, hourglass- like and banana- like) and dimensions of the NPC canal (the length of the NPC, the diameter of the foramina of Stenson (FS) and incisive foramen (IF)) of the NPC) and buccal bone wall. The shape of the incisive foramen was assessed on axial sections of CBCT images and were categorized to round, oval, heart- shaped and lobular. Results: The mean diameter of FS and IF were 3.60 1.44 mm and 6.78 2.56 mm respectively. The mean length of the NPC was 12.70 2.22 mm and the width of buccal bone plate increased from the crestal to apical level. Cylindrical (50%) and round (58.34) were the most prevalent shapes of the NPC and IF respectively. The age and gender of patients did not have any significant effect on the shape and dimensions of the NPC (p>0.05).Discussion: The results of this study showed that morphological and dimensional characteristics of the NPC in edentulous patients are not affected by age and gender. However, further research is needed to confirm this finding among Iranian population
