The Impact of Voter Design of Voter Behavior
2021 Celebration of Student Research and Creativity presentation"How does the design of a ballot influence the decisions a voter makes? Almost every county across the United States is in charge of designing, printing, and distributing their ballots on election day. This means that each county’s ballot will look different, both in terms of design and races. However, current research has not examined the impact these differences have on voters. We theorize that variables in ballot design will have a significant impact on roll-off. We gathered data from West Virginia’s 2018 ballots and analyzed how their design influenced roll-off. Our findings suggest that there is no significant relationship between ballot design and voter behavior, however more research is needed before this conclusion can be reached."https://youtu.be/dM3hIk1ip7

An upgrade to the traditional organic chemistry lab
2021 Celebration of Student Research and Creativity presentation"Traditionally, organic chemistry lab students perform experiments that are known to work time and time again. The main purpose of the Undergraduate Research in Organic Chemistry Course (UROCC) is for students to incorporate modern lab techniques and digital tools, scientific thinking, and collaboration. Students get to implement these skills by conducting research to synthesize bioactive heterocyclic tropinone derivatives in an attempt to develop a drug candidate for breast cancer. UROCC gives students the opportunity to learn lab techniques combined with a research project and is designed to provide them experience needed to
succeed in a career in science."https://youtu.be/ULxV505Z46
